The Anamada Estate in which the Resort  is situated,  is an authentic one. Many of the properties from the colonial era and therefore a little short of amenities and wanting a bit of maintenance. But if comfort is all that you are looking for then this is not the place to spend your holidays. Fully expecting some rough roads when we were told that the way  to the resort from Nelliampathy town is by off road vehicle, we were least expecting an hour and half of tumbling in a jeep over the  12 km of boulders and bottomless pits. Watch you head and hold on with both arms, but otherwise the trick is not to resist the jostling.  It is certainly not for the elderly and those with any spinal problems. But if you see it as adventure and fun, ask them to stop a few times to enjoy the scenery  of which there is abundance. The stay itself is made richer by the spectacular views, the walk in the  plantations and  the night safari for watching wild bison, sambar deer and miscellaneous wild life. The food is simple and good even if lacking in variety and the staff are courteous and helpful. If you still have the time and need to be in touch with the outer  world  they have WiFi up there.  A 1-3 day stay  with your family and friends would be ideal. They have accomodation for larger groups as well.

Certainly off the beaten track and a real get away

Our family had a 2 night stay during our Onam vacations in August 2023. Was an excellent stay with one night at Green House and next day at Heritage House. Both are good with green house next to restaurant and heritage house around 5 mts jeep ride.

Very much inside the forest this is by far first time our experience. Free night safaris you are sure to sight Bisons, Deers, Mountains squirrels and plenty of birds. 

100% recommended for a nature lover.

There is 1.5 hours 4 wheel jeep drive from Neliampathy town which they will take care. It's a bumpy ride though. 

Close to nature, enjoy the calmness! 

We stayed from 25-26 Dec 21. It was a great experience for us, as we were not much bothered about the luxuries provided in our stay-room. It was nevertheless comfortable and clean!
1.  Wi fi is available in the Messing Hall. You have to turn it on in your phone.
2.  The night Safari provided here is thrilling and one of its kind in India. We were lucky to see sambar deers and bison in the wild.
3.  Please travel here in fully loaded Jeep. That is, there should be four passengers sitting in the back seats. Otherwise, you will have a very rough ride to this place!
4.  The short morning Trek to a nearby hillock and View Point was quite exhilarating.
5.  The food provided was fresh and very tasty. Good variety too!

Feedback Points for New Travellers

The property is part of jungle on lease. The bungalow was constructed by British and its maintained well. You need 4  wheel drive, 12 km real off roading,  to access the location. They have other properties too in this land and this bungalow is further 1 km away. The views are breath taking and there are few streams and waterfall for a shower in the nature. The food was good. The package includes 2 rides, dinner, tea and breakfast. Really worth a place to visit

Stay amidst the mist and relax

Excellent .. room arrangements were great ..they helped a lot for trekking ( night  and morning) and all...the intresting thing is more than one and half hours (off-road ride) to reach Misty valley..love the place..

Visited this resort and must say what an amazing stay it was. Breathing views, trekking, night safari, bonfire, absolute bliss. 
The weather was also great, to my liking. 
The management and staff were professional and went out of their to make our stay pleasant. 
Will definitely visit again and recommend this resort to everyone.

Awesome Stay!!!

I never expected the journey to this amazing place to be such a different experience. It is the path that makes it a unique experience. A duration of more than 1.5 hrs is required from the starting point below the hills to the resort and this is fully OFF ROAD!! The resort is more than 100 years old. It was built by a British officer in 1800s when India was under the British rule in the midst of 1800+ acres of forest.He developed the area into a small village as well.Now the resort area is about 450 acres and there are 2 two storied dormitories in addition to the single storied  5 bedroom resort. They provide delicious home made food with snacks and an amazing trip through the forest  during night especially (by experienced drivers).That trip is the highlight of the facilities provided by the resort management.The location of the resort is breath takingly beautiful but you wont have any signals from your telecom provider(which you will be thankful for later). It is a very beautiful experience.Really loved it.

THE BEST OFF ROAD TRIP TO HOTEL


 I stayed with my husband and  son  accompanied by  another  friend family in a heritage bungalow located at the reserve forest of nelliyampathy hills.Misty valley resort is the only resort which is situated closest to the  forest . We hired a jeep to drive Misty Valley once reached Pulayanpara. It was an adventurous  drive  towards the resort which approx took 1.5 hrs . Jeep driver was so humble and more like a guide to us  with abdundance knowledge in sharing information about nelliyampathy and misty valley history  . We saw elephants and bison  on our way to resort . The hospitality given by resort staff and the  ladies who are the care taker of  bungalow were remarkable . We really felt like home . Food was tasty . We definitely look forward to visit again .



Wild and free !!!

We had a pleasant n peaceful stay at Misty valley resorts. 
Positives : A wonderful property ( the bunglow built during British time  ) where we were totally disconnected from the digital world , the bunglow location was the highlight.
First day stay was at the cottage and 2 nd day stay at the bunglow. 
Helpful n decent staff , tried their best to make arrangements as per our requests.
Food was decent , but would hv loved if they could have made some changes to the breakfast n dinner served since both the days same variety of meal was served.
Evening safari arranged was a nice experience for the kids , saw some bisons n deers. Were lucky to spot elephants on our way to the resort

Negatives : First day was spent at Red House , this house needs some renovation / maintenance , bathroom cleanliness needs to be improved. 
The 1.5 hrs travel from the base to the property on the jeep would be a bit of trouble for people with back ache problems.

Overall a pleasant stay away from the chaos of the town life

Weekend at Misty resorts Nelliampathy

Let me start with the gripe factor. The resort would be BIG HIT, if they have good lodging Ex: Floor, Beds, Bathrooms are renovated and maintained well. They seem to neglect this to complete the experience.
The best part of the experience is the activities like
- None of these places are commercial, so the experience is exclusive.
- 14 km ride through Jungle to the resort on 4WD (not for the people with backbone issues)
- Food was really good, though home made, all 8 of us liked the food served in 3 meals
- Night safari in open jeep was an experience. We could spot Sambhar dears and Bisons
- Camp fire
- Whole weather was very pleasant, In the morning whole place was covered with Mist
- Trek in the morning to a peak, where you get blown away by Gusty Misty winds was worth it (some were lucky to stick with small leeches)
- Then we had a heavy breakfast and headed for walk through woods, with no noise except the blowing winds and swaying trees
- On the way back there are some scenic places where your jeep driver would stop to top the experience.

Rest assured, you will cherish this trip for long in your memory, except for the rooms, which can be adjusted for a night stay.

Electricity to this place is from Solar power and there are no fans or Cell coverage in this area.

Also worth mentioning the staff, who were ready to do anything asked Ex: Tea, Hot water for bath, extra food, type of food etc.
