This place was built as a hunting lodge by the Pilibhit royal family sometime in the 1930s and was converted to a hotel about 20 years ago. Built with lots of deodhar, pine and oak wood, it oozes old world charm with wooden floors, ceilings and staircases. It's secluded and quiet although quite close to the main road. The staff will make your stay memorable with good service and delicious food. Go there for peace and quiet. Relax in the sitting room on the ground floor or enjoy the view of the surroundings while enjoying your meals on the first floor.

Secluded Retreat with old world charm

Nice place to stay and recommend to stay. Nice cosy n far away from city and I want to give special thanks to Ms. Sheetal Bisht ( Corporate Reservations) and thank you all the staff of the hotel .

Pathetically bad hotel.. service was also really really bad.. heater wasn’t working.. bathroom geaser also not working , cold rooms, poor food taste , not entertainment to guest.. proper money wastage and time wastage

Pathetic hotel

This place sits on top of a mountain and the resort owns the entire space. The secluded place gives a lot of calmness and peace. The care taker Santosh is one man army. He is always standing on his toes to get things for you. The food here is phenomenal.. Do try their Kumaoni khana.. They make it really well. Over all a very very pleasant stay and would definitely come here again.

wonderful stay in the midst of nature with hills all around. we booked 2 superior & 1 deluxe room for our group of seven. 2 adults & 1 child stayed in a superior room which could accommodate at least 4 adults in connecting rooms allotted to us. big rooms with a seating area and two washrooms. food was awesome since we had pre-booked breakfast & dinner. one non-veg main course was served in dinner along with a non-veg soup. Cons- the old property needs maintenance & renovation especially in the bathroom & the room floor. very old defective tv, No wifi, no phone. otherwise, the wooden bungalow was charming with sit outs in both floors. helpful staff who cooked as per our choice. breakfast in the open was something we loved. hardly 25-30 mins drive after crossing Bhowali. Misleading google map, its lot nearer and one needs to watch out for the Hotel name board on the right when approaching from Bhowali. Mukteshwar temple was a 1hr drive from the hotel.

solitude in the hills

Hi,

I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and had a bad experience during my stay. The 1st day was fine with us enjoying the mountains but things turned bad on the second day. 

The hotel had a group of 7-8 people check in and they decided to have a drinking session with bonfire at 10PM in the night. They were up till 3AM-4AM in the night drinking, shouting, singing and abusing loudly. Me and my wife could not sleep through the night. There were other guests in the hotel who got their stay ruined as I found out the next day.

The management did not control the situation and ensured that the stay of other guests in the hotel was ruined. They clearly chose the comforts of one set of guests over the other paying guests. In my opinion, the manager should have managed the guests with strict bonfire timings and controlling the guests once they got out of hand post their drinking. On the contrary, they were nowhere to be seen when all this was going on.

When i raised the issue next day when we were checking out with their General Manager - Mr Pant, he offered to pack a free meal for our return journey which I felt was ridiculous !!! I lost out on a day of my stay and the GM thought it was fair to offer a meal !!! Ridiculous !!  When I kept on complaining this was later changed to Rs1000 discount on stay. I felt that they should have at least offered 1 night stay to adequately compensate us for the complete bad experience that we had during 1 night of our stay. 

Otherwise, The hotel is a bunglow converted into hotel with 6 rooms. Rooms are basic in nature with wood flooring and panelling. The property has an old world charm with it. Dont expect fancy stuff in the rooms. They are still having CRT televisions in the rooms. Ramgarh is a beautiful place for city dwellers like us. The cook, working staff of the hotel was pleasant and nice. Kudos to Govind for looking after us well during our stay. 

Overall, Need to ensure that proper management is done with guests since its such a small property. 

Personally, I am never coming back here. Would look for other options in Ramgarh.

Worst Experience - Stay Away

I stayed here last weekend with family. Nice hotel at a reasonable cost with nice view. However, without the smog all around view could have been much better. I had mix experience here during my stay.

Things need to take care:
1. If you are more than two people, don't book deluxe room. Go for superior room even if booking website suggest you option to book 3-4 people in deluxe room.
2. This hotel is situated in "Malla Ramgarh". Don't go by google map for this property. Better call hotel manager and ask for direction. Right route is via Bhawali range.
3. ROI on food at hotel is 50%. Try to have food at market place for better ROI. If you want to have food at hotel, ask for the menu card from manager, which is not readily available.

There are lots of positives also there apart from the view. Hotel staff, manager and the chef will take good care about all your request with smile.
Visit apple orchard, which is close by. There is a bigger one on the way to Mukteshwar, 20 min drive from hotel.

I will come back here definitely with better planning.

Stay can be enjoyed with a pinch of salt

Pathetic we booked for 4 adullt on your site double bed delux room for rs 6300 by reaching on the property we were shocked to see the room size 10 by 12 ft which hardly fits 2 adults and impossible for 4 adults to get in 

While connecting to their concern office they ask us to pay 4000rs extra for another room of the same size and told us its totaly the fault of reservation site we have nothing to do with it this all conversation took 1and 1/2 hour as we almost waited for their call 

They have other big rooms vacant as well but they left us with no choice to compell us to pay 4000rs extra as my family is waiting in the remotest elevated place with no support 

I have all the bills and reservations and cash reciepts with me if you want i can scan it to the forum

Dissapointed

The right place to unwind urself for a long weekend.. Truly homestay. Amazing experience.. Easy to locate just 24 kms from Bhimtal this Leisure Hotels property will give u serene and calm experience of nature.
There is cook to give u food to order with the home like taste.
Reasonably priced with lot of comfort the staff especially the Manager and the Caretaker Govind will ensure to make ur stay worth remembering.
For Delhiites and someone who struggles daily in the city hush hush life shud experience the homestay here in Himalayan view retreat.
It’s a Bungalow with just 4 rooms with great view and cool breeze sipping through from all sides.
Max temperature during peak summers remains at 24 while minimum stays at 18 degrees.
Must visit with family and friends
Anytime better than congested Hill stations.
The place is Ramgarh where this property is.
One can go trekking up the hill while gazing Apple orchards and nature.
