Ravangla is a beautiful place to visit. Stayed in Hilltop Resort, surrounded with only nature.. hospitality was excellent.. food was as per our choice and good too. In May, kanchanjanga was not visible for cloud.. recommended for March April.. wish, we could visit Ravangla Hilltop Resort again..

Accomodation, cuisines, views are the best.. and the special part which will touch your heart is hospitality... One to one contact and obviously so warmly will definately make you happy.. and if your are Bengali then alu posto will surprise you.. 

Dar ke aage jit hey

At the beginning I must confess that the 1/2 km pebble road from the main road to the resort is the most dreadful one I have ever experienced.
But as soon as you reach the resort, you are bound to forget the worries.
The wooden loghuts were perfectly matching with the surroundings. The food served was excellent.
The special mention that I wish to highlight is the services offered by the owner, named Sayantan and his men. It is just unforgettable.

A nice place to relax

Hilltop Rabong Resort is a traveller's delight. If you are looking for a calm and quiet holidaying experience at Ravangla then this resort is the ideal. One can have a grand view of the majestic Kanchenzonga on a clear day. I stayed there for 5 days and felt right at home. The owner and the staff of the resort are always eager to help and always cheerful. The room I stayed was well decorated and had all the amenities for a comfortable stay. The toilet was clean and was fitted with  a geyser to provide 24 hours hot water. The food here is delicious and is available at reasonable rates.
The place has a few nature trails that can be explored to rejuvenate oneself. The place is also a bird watcher's paradise.

Gem on the hill

This resort is situated in a secluded location away from the crowd in the midst of vegetation with an excellent, unobstructed view of Mt. Kanchenjunda. The approach road to this place i.e. approx last 2 kms, is pretty bad as this is unmetalled and mostly muddy having stone laid patches. So, it is a bit of an adventure reaching here.
The rooms are average with decent facilities. However, the rates are on the higher side,most probably due to the location of this property.  Do negotiate the same before booking, there is a scope of discount depending on availability as well as the number of  rooms booked. The food is good and homely but it needs to be ordered in advance as they are arranged based on the orders. There is ample parking space in the property as well as a garden and a view point.. There is a provision for arrangement of a bonfire in the garden on additional payment. 
Overall, it was a nice stay.

Quite Secluded Stay

Hilltop Rabong Resort is a gem in the hilly pocket of the Himalayas, in the state of Sikkim. The position of the resort is very unique from where you can enjoy the snow capped peaks, the garden is with its full bloom. The rooms are so cosy and neat with all modern amenities. Above all there is Mr Banerjee to look after everything . I recommend all the hill lovers to must enjoy this place for at least three nights. 

Beautiful Hilltop 

We stayed here for 2 nights as a family though booked for 3 nights. While booking Mr.Sayantan Banerjee took 100% advance which no other hotel does. We should have been cautious at that point of time only. He charged 5000 per night for the room which is not worth more than 2000 per night. It's not at all a resort, it's a home stay. While checked in we found a dirty room with used bed linens, used towels, no hygiene sense at all. Imagine the first experience. We got everything changed, cleaned and it spoilt our mood for a relaxing vacation. Pure cheaters !! For 2 nights we could not sleep properly as people talking in the adjacent room is a constant disturbance. Food is average but they put effort in serving you hot items. We ordered fish curry and got fried fish in a large bowl of water with no spice...who on earth can cook like this !! And they charged 400 per plate (2 pieces of fish). Food cost is very high compared to all hotels we travelled in Sikkim in last 10 days. They are cheating people. Not worth the money you are spending. We will not recommend this property to anybody. Though we had a loss of 5000, we checked out after 2 nights.

Think twice before booking this property at high cost

Resort position is great.One can spend the whole day in the balcony of the hotel room by seeing the mountain view and listening the chirping of variants birds .The night view of Buddha park is also seen from the balcony.Foods are available according to Bengali taste.The host Sayantan Banerjee is very nice person.Also Prem Kumar ji is very helpful.Rooms are well decorated and very neat and clean.

Exploring the Unknown always enthralls Human imagination as it always impresses an indelible memory!  Ravangla was a destination unknown to us till one of my colleagues mentioned to me while I was wondering for a site of recluse. And one more tip from him- if Ravangla,then only HILLTOP! I argued -why only Hilltop? He smiled and say- You won't regret in your life! So, I zeroed into Hilltop. We booked it via Booking. com.  We kept our itinerary limited as we were looking for a badly needed break after 2.5 yrs of pandemic woes! After landing at Bagdogra, we were greeted by our cool and cheerful Mr. Pasang who graciously invited us to his Wagon- R and drove skillfully to Peiling first.After enchanting ourselves with the beauty of Peiling and Kanchenjunga, we proceeded to Ravangla. Here I must interrupt and introduce you all to someone - Shri SAYANTAN BANERJEE- a perfect bengali GENTLEMAN, extremely cordial,brotherly, helpful and bubbling with energy.  Right after we came in contact with him after booking, he had been keeping in touch and providing useful tips about our journey... be it train reservations /flights/bus services. The moment we reached at Hilltop....there he was... with his gallant team...beaming with a generous smile on his face. Within moments,  we felt as if we had shifted from our previous home to our new home! Everone was so cheerful and cordial. I was introduced to Shri PREM RAI,  whom I found out to be an epitome of hospitality and vigour. We were checked in ina flash... and we found ourselves into our DREAMROOM...Yes...dream room it was...as the spacious room had such impressive wooden decor.. There was no artificial furniture as such. And the moment, the curtains were drawn out...we were speechless... As there was almost 180° panoramic view of the Himalayan Splendor, right in front!  All our journey tiredness vanished in a second! After freshning up, we were escorted to the dining hall, where our table was laid out by Renuka di,  a perfect gracious hostess with an evershing innocent smile! The food was simply mindblowingly tasteful - the magic been cast by Ck(aka Jackie bhai), Shambhu bhai and Jeet bhai. Kamla di was an evercheerful entity whose presence could be felt everywhere. My son mingled with them as if he knew them for years...he had a fantastic time as he played, galloped, climbed,jumped and made merry with all his new friends!  The campus is strewn with lovely flowers and trees with nicely maintained pavements. The watchtower was a bonus as we could walk up now and then and gasp at the nascent beauty of Mother Nature! We chatted on all topics with Sayantan da over the bonfire, to our heart's content! As per the advice of Mr. Pasang,  Sayantan da and Prem da, we visited to Temi's tea garden and Buddha park. I have floated videos of both the places in my Youtube blog ( Rejuvinator 73. (kindly visit aand grace with your comments)! Those few days felt like a pleasant dream. Farewell was quite heart-wrenching as we didn’t feel like leaving. We hugged each other and parted. Never before have we ever felt so attached as it was here! Hilltop shall always remain etched in our memory as a dream of ecstasy!! Hats off to the entire TEAM HILLTOP RAVANGLA!

AN INTERLUDE OF ECSTASY!!!

The stay in this hotel was very good. The food is quite OK. The rooms were good. Mr Sayantan gave us a cottage for a family of three. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. This hotel has excellent views. The staff of Sayantan are well behaved and courteous. The service was also quick. The rooms were ultra cosy. Family members enjoyed their stay to the fullest. 
Then why "Terrible" rating is given by me ? 
The road from the main road to the hotel is totally offroading. Boulders and rocks are placed out on the super steep incline. It was a nightmarish experience for my hatchback car - i20. It is a strick NO NO to travel with your Hatchback car to this hotel. Only if you have a 4x4 , SUV , rear wheel drive car, you may think of going to this hotel.  Otherwise, hire a car and go here by means of hired SUV. Do not take your small hatchback car here. The boulders on the road will damage the underbody. I nearly fell off the road into the cliff. I am a very experienced mountain driver with 2 lakhs driving experience. I have driven all over Nepal, Bhutan , Sikkim , North Bengal. This road is definitely a NO No for your hatchback car. I made a big mistake by driving on this road. 
Apart from this road , the hotel is quite good. Sayantan did warn us about the road. We should have had taken his advise seriously. My mistake.
