We really enjoyed our stay at Megapode Nest. Room was clean and comfortable, food was great and enjoyed the gardens.
We will definitely stay here on our next visit to the Andaman Islands. The location was convenient to catch a ferry to Havelock and Viper Islands 

Retreat in Port Blair 

Service was very pathetic, also food was not up to mark,,, I going with my friends in megapode resort for lunch, but service really really bad, because if u want anything then u need to search where is staff no one attending my table, then I'm going inside and I ask where is floor incharge or manger but his guy ignoring me also show me attitude, I don't want go again, I waist my money.......

Resort has one of the best sunrise view in port blair and the food,service is up to the mark. It’s close to haddo jetty and airport and completely value for money. Staff is very prompt and supportive.

Value for money

One of the best view you can have in Port Blair. Located in peaceful environment.  It’s resort hotel and government property, adequately maintained, don’t expect five star amenities but neat and clean room with all essential amenities, good food, good service and very reasonable price in a hotel of this standard. Would highly recommend it.

Best location, beautiful view

its a very beautiful resort with great service by management .... the back side of resort has great view of sea and very near to ferry .....find transport is bit difficult on ur own  you can ask the hotel to help you 

very good resort in great location

We spent 3 days at the resort. Located in central part of Port Blair offers beautiful view of the sea from the restaurant and cottages. The semi deluxe rooms don't offer sea view but are reasonably sized. 

Food during lunch, dinner is nice, bar is decent but breakfast is basic.

Staff is very helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

Nice Resort

We stayed at Megapode Resort for 3 nights, 1 night in semi-deluxe room and 2 nights in Nicobari Cottage.
First I will write down the common good and bad aspects of the resorts and then tell about the rooms.

The good points
1. The hotel is at calm place so there wont be much outside noise to disturb you.
2. It is located near haddo jetty so catching Makruzz is easy, you can reach at the jetty in 10 mins.
3. The drinking water is good, tastes similar to mumbai water
4. The hotel is located on a height so you get the view of the pheonix jetty and the bay from the resort
5. The check-in and checkout is smooth.
6. The rooms quality is good.
7. The resort is well maintained and there is a lot of greenery around.

The average/bad points
1. The bathing water in semi-deluxe room though good but was on slightly yellow side, we did not see this issue in Nicobari cottage.
2. The bathroom size is good but the shower area is small in both semi deluxe and Nicobari Cottage.
3. The hotel food is average in terms of vegeterian food, not sure about non-veg though, you will get food that will fill your stomach but it wont be lip smacking tasty, you will have to go out for tasty veg food.

Semi-Deluxe Room
The room was good, good bed, balcony and overall cleanliness. We did not opt for room service so not sure how it is. The only issue we faced was slightly yellow water but the water was not hard and was good for bathing. The only difference between Semi-Deluxe rooms and Deluxe rooms is that from the outside courtyard of the room you can get view of the bay.

Nicobari Cottage
There is a catch here, things are not exactly as shown. We booked nicobari cottage for ourselves from mmt and images show that it is an independent cottage and has bathtub but it is not 100% true, we had confirmed images again on the official website before booking. They have only 4 Nicobari Cottages. 2 Nicobari Cottages are independent villas without bathtub and other 2 Nicobari Cottages are joint and have 1 big wall common between them and balconies nearby each other with less privacy, these have bathtubs.
They allot rooms randomly so you cant demand the type of Nicobari cottage you want.
We were given Nicobari Cottage room 101, the complaint I have regarding it is, the switches are are placed randomly. Like one light switch of bathroom is somewhere in living room and vice-verca. Was it just our room? not sure but this is not how it should be designed.

Would have rated 4 but Nicobari Cottages need more transparency

This resort is spacious and the deluxe rooms have a beautiful view of the jetty. There is a garden next to the dining area which has a great view of the sea. There is a restaurant and bar, food quality is average. The reception area has wifi, not the rooms.
The staff is courteous and the service is decent. The rooms are clean but not very well-maintained. The main highlight of this place is the view from the deluxe rooms and huts, and this resort does not disappoint in this regard. 

Overall, we liked the time we spent here and would love to come back again. I would also like to recommend our guide Gopal Bhaiya, who had helped us with ferry booking and sight seeing in Port Blair. Beautiful View of the Sea

I stayed in Megapode resort in a sea view cottage on 25th December 2020. In spite of the pandemic, the service was decent and the view was great. The resort provides buffet breakfast and has an restaurant for inhouse dinner and lunch. The tables look over the sea and are extremely scenic. 

We also came in touch with auto driver Gopal bhaiyya for our sightseeing in Port Blair. He is an honest helpful guide who provided us with autos whenever needed and took us to all the places of interest. Great view, standard service, affected by pandemic

This resort is the proof why privatization is most required in this country. Government owned property is exactly like one would expect. The location is beautiful and the resort is spacious but I am sad that governement is doing little to uplift the infra or the services of this place. The place has the potential to become one of the finest resorts in Andaman but alas!

We took the sea view room and the view was really beautiful. The balcony was big and had enough space for 2 to enjoy the sunset. The room service was prompt and the staff was helpful but one would expect more from them since it's such a fancy resort. The food was horrible and over priced. The resort had dogs all over to the point where it can get scary to walk in the night. The resort provides cab services but it's pretty expensive. Pickup from the airport is free but not the jetty so check once before booking the cab. 

All in all this is a decent stay with room for a lot of improvements.
