At first at the desk the employe said that it was 3000R but after discussion accepted 2000R Room clean and quiet.  Room very expensive considering that there no hot water. The personnal helped me with a reservation for a train ticket.

I stayed there  for three days in July 2019

This hotel is good to stay with family.
It is near to station.
It is even to triveni sangam.
Hotel staff is very helpful.
Hotel even provide car to exploring place in allahabad at reasonable price.
Overall the hotel is good.

Great hotel to stay

good location. not best but good, room was nice with king bed and clean. but no shower... Provided bucket and dipper (see below). Water temp was only luke-warm. ac worked 1 out of 4 days. wifi doesn't reach rooms so must go into hall near transmitter or in lobby. they advertise restaurant but its more like a dinning hall.  front desk is useless and uncooperative. I asked for manager but he was never available. also OYO would not accept USA credit card and hotel required a cash deposit to reserve. OYO should disown this property. Inadequate or international travelers

I'm reporting this review for my 76-year old mother and 73-year old aunt who stayed at this location from Feb 26 - Mar 1. They gave me these details on the phone. I live in the United States and they both live in Bangalore, India. They're not internet savvy and wanted me to register their complaint with the hotel. I did that just now and as someone who has posted to TripAdvisor before (and found this property on TripAdvisor to begin with), I thought I would provide my family's feedback.

I'm Padma Rao, and visited Hotel Sundaram with my sister Shantha Rao to go to the Kumbh. My son had booked and prepaid at OYO 1671, Hotel Sundaram Prayagraj - so checking in was not an issue.

Our first shock was when we got into the room to see how dirty it was - a far cry from the nice pictures of the hotel you see everywhere on the internet. The towels weren't a fresh set; the bed sheets were dirty, the pillow covers so. The service staff was slow and unresponsive to our requests. When we told them about the condition of the room and why it was so, the front desk manager told us that it was our fault for not complaining earlier. It never occurred to the manager that the room should be clean to begin with.

There were some positives, though. The hot water supply was on a 24 x 7 basis. The restaurant was big but we, being vegetarians, were shocked to see chicken and other non-vegetarian food being served openly. This is one of the holiest places in India, and Kumbh is one of the holiest times for a devotee (happening once every six years) - yet we had to go to the river after this experience. We understand that foreigners were visiting and the hotel needs to cater to all guests, but, at a minimum, we could have been warned or served food in our room.

The elevators were on battery backup and we compliment the hotel for this. Both of us are disabled and cannot climb stairs. Our room was on the 4th floor. Having an elevator always working was helpful.

We never met the captain. We were told that initiating contact was our responsibility and not the captain's! Strange!!

This was our first stay at an Oyo, and I'm not sure if we will stay again.

Dirty linens, towels and room. Deceptive advertising

This place is also known as hotel sundaram. This place is located nearby allahabad railway station and is a great budget stay if you want to stay nearby the railway station. Decent service and decent ambience. Clean and neat. 

Oyo 

Oyo should disown this property as this is making set backs on their reputation. The property pictures shown on the Oyo App is totally different from the hotels rooms. Hotel rooms are shabby and cramped. In Oyo app there was an option to upgrade rooms (to Deluxe Rooms from Classic Rooms) while booking with extra amount. And the system is suggesting that it will increase the rooms size by 48%. Have opted for this option while booking. when the check in is done in late evening the rooms provided are very small probably around 120 sq feet in size. Have complained to Oyo instantly and recorded the entire communication. Oyo support staffs at the call centre were very courteous and they confirm that the manager will come and solve the issue. Within 5 minutes a boy came without any knowledge and upon asking confirmed that he is not the manager. Lift was very old and faulty. Hence I drop down 4 floors by stairs and met the manager and he claimed that they have offered the Deluxe rooms. when asked to show the Classic rooms, he could not.

Restaurant is pathetic and whole property needs renovation. A stinking smell is there everywhere. My team received a piece of metal as gift in lunch in the rice. Upon reporting this, the restaurant staff gave a blank smile. Breakfast choice is Puri Sabji and Sandwich (Only bread and Jam pasted together and they call it sandwich by the way) only. Every where in India omelette is a common item in complimentary Breakfast. One of my team members ordered that and they charged for it too. Although restaurant charges are exorbitantly high considering the hotels class.

Hotel staffs does not have any uniform hence you can not differentiate who is a support staff and who is not. Support staffs are not trained. They are entering rooms with dirty chappals on. 

AC machine in few rooms are old window models and not working like in my room. Bathroom is like a small passage but it was clean. Linens are very old and very dirty with foul smell. Rooms are infested with cockroaches too.

requesting tourists visiting Allahabad / Prayagraj to avoid using this property until it is become usable. Otherwise you travel might end with a very unpleasant experience.
