Come holiday season and it was time to go home. Not wanting to go through crowded airports, I chose to drive from Mumbai to Trivandrum and that included stays enroute. 
The first one was in Pune and I was looking for a budget hotel near the highway for easy exit and with good joints around. Settled on Monarch Montvert. 

It is at the end of a lane once you turn off Baner road and in between some of other society buildings. There is parking for about half a dozen cars at a pinch, but luckily mine was the only one that day. They said the place was full but most were corporate guests

The staff are hospitable, but not very warm and accommodating. The room was not very large, but OK for the price. However, the place was showing its age. The in room safe was broken but the mini fridge worked fine. There was a microwave too, but did not try it out. The aircon in the room struggled to maintain a decent temperature. The curtains are not true black out ones and light does seep in making the room warmer than usual. But they do have a fan to keep air circulating. 

The chair in the room was from their restaurant and did not match the one in the picture when booking. I asked for it to be changed and they promised to do it, but did not. Not a big deal, but would have been good to have had some arm rests when resting or using a laptop.  

While the room itself was showing age, they did do a good job of cleaning it and maintaining some standard. The deadbolt in the room was broken and I was not sure of whether it could be opened from outside. Hence, not a very safe feeling. 

There are several food joints in close proximity within walking distance, so you are not forced to eat at the hotel itself. Did not see any families during my stay and it was mostly single travelers  / corporate guests. The controls for electricals were placed in the middle of the headrest of the bed which was a little scary as well. There was no hot water in the morning before checking out.

There was no guard at the hotel and when I tried checking out in the morning, no one was to be seen until I started up the car. 

Would most likely pick another place next time for the price that was paid as I did not find it value for money. But for a short overnight stay it worked fine. Feel Ginger on the highway a few kms away would have been more value for money at the price point. 


OK for solo or corporate travellers

We moved in here from another property run by the same management. Again it's a nice little place but one could see the same pattern being repeated here. The rooms are well designed and the property itself is very well located but  maintenance is an issue. The management seriously needs to up their game and invest more into the upkeep of their otherwise beautiful properties. The staff is well behaved but obviously they can't do much about the leaking faucets and tattered curtains.
I would recommend the hotel for its location and staff but it certainly needs a lot of improvement.

Excellent hotel in the price range. Nice quiet location just 50 mts from main Baner road. Good staff and prompt housekeeping services. Deluxe rooms are lovely with big windows. Mr. Arfan and Mr Ajay at front desk are very helpful and non intrusive. 5/5 will recommend for a business trip.

it was a great stay.had some difficulty in getting an early checking but the staff is very responsive to get my problem solved as the were miscommunication from goibibo thanks for the help and for the great stay.will definitely visit again

Ambience was good and rooms were clean. Bathroom is also clean. But hotel is bit inside from main road which is difficult to identify and also for any food orders.Food is not at all good but one can always order it from outside.

Most affordable place in Pune

One of the best and most affordable place you can get in Pune. Obviously you won't get a 5 star facility. But the rooms are good for the price.and the staff is very friendly.food need to be inproved rest everything is good

.The stay was excellent and the staff were very friendly and courteous especially Mr Vishant from the reception. thanks aloot for the great service .will definitely visit again when ever i visit to pune. The ambience of the hotel is very nice.  i love the lobby music

Wonderfull experience

stay was awesome staff was excellent in this service just the linen was an issue at the hotel.rest everything was good.they location is perfec its very Quiet bt have mosquito even after that staff have give us mosqito replent.need to impove some things hope to c the change on my next visit.

The Stay was Great room need a bit of renovation.the food is not good it better to order from swiggy or zomoto.The staff there is very helpfull a big thumbs up for the staff.parking is available only for 5- 6 cars

Very good hotel keep up the good work.will definitely refer this hotel to my family and friends.the stay was ways courteous.just need to improve on the room service of the food nothing else.will definitely visit again
