Poor service horrible experience. They have a bbq stand and no charcoal..carrom boards are a century old..bed sheets are unclean. The owner is based out of dubai and doesn't care about the property. There are no indoor games available.

Worst place to stay

Rooms are average. Service is too bad.  Do not believe the contact person who says yes to everything but does not deliver.  Friendly staff. Last option to stay.o proper maintenance.My personal suggestion is not to stay in this hotel.

Small Rooms.

I had planned to stay in this place for a stop-over as i had to travel to Munnar. First thing is they charged us exorbitantly 3500/- for their soo called Suite... which was nothing but a studio apartment in Bangalore, which has 1 Bedroom and then a Hall.
We were 4 adults including 3 kids, they had suggested us to stay in their suite, which would be ideal. But this place was soo bad. When we asked for extra bed or bed-sheets but they didn't even provided it. 
Next Day morning, even to have bath, he told that the geysers are not working, they didnt even bother to repair that and said they will provide us with hot water in buckets. They provided with quarter buckets of hot water which was not at all sufficient.
The Breakfast which was very limited was actually not sufficient to any one of us. They told us only 6 Idli's will be provided, we were 3 kids and 4 adults, how could 7 people eat 6 Idlis ? 
when asked they said, you can go else where to have if required. No morning Bed Coffee/Tea was also provided.
They mentioned the coffee/Tea would be served only at 8:30AM onwards. how crap.
I wouldnt suggest this place to any one. 

Basically, what they mention as Sophys Retreat Resort...Its not a Resort at all, just some rooms, here and there. Its really disgusting to just make a stop over, forgetting staying there for couple of nights.

First thing first, dont go by the name and second, dont expect much. 
I got a deal at MMT for INR 1600 for 2 days, which was quite good so went for Sophy's. Also all the decent places at  the time i went were booked, so had no other choice than this.
The place is decent and and made at a nice place and easy to locate. The roads at night in yercaud have got no street lights, so that's an issue.
Coming to the rooms, rooms were not so comfortable as bathrooms were very very small. and there were bugs and "large" spiders in room. 
The food they serve is good and reasonable. You need to inform them around an hour earlier if you have any particular demand for food.

You can also have food at LakeFront restaurant near Yercaud Lake, which is around 1.5kms from Sophy's. Thats a good option.

Average place. Dont expect much

Positives:
Staff very good and cooperative.
Good place for children to enjoy indoor and outdoor games.
Food is fine.
Negatives:
Price not up to the quality of rooms.
Bathrooms very very small. 
2-3 staffs handling all sort of work
