Hotel location is very good, on barog hill top, with very scenic view on all sides. The staff and service was good also. Mainly the open lawn in front provides good place to enjoy sunrise and sunset view. Only thing seems that building needs some renovation.

Nice location in Barog

We stayed here for 1 night. The hotel's location is good. The approach to the hotel is pretty steep and should be improved with respect to the road condition. The hotel is clean and comfortable to stay for 1 night as there is nothing much to do in Barog. The food is good. Breakfast spread is very very limited for the cost they are charging. The rooms are clean and tidy. Bathrooms are newly developed and clean. The open area on their terrace is the plus point of this hotel for which everyone stays here. It gives a full 360-degree view of the mountains and small towns around Barog. A major disappointment for me which made me regret my stay in this hotel was the nuisance that outsiders create who come with their own alcohol and play loud music as if the hotel is their property. The staff does not do anything. Even after complaining, the staff looked helpless and did nothing! Those people kept singing and playing loud songs and drinking alcohol freely and openly but the hotel didn't do anything. Scenarios like this make this hotel unprofessional and I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. When the staff can't save their own property from people like these, they wouldn't bother about their guests who are paying to stay at their hotel.

Better to try other options and skip this hotel.

Not recommended if coming with family

I stayed one night. The Hotel is located at a very good height from main highway therefore offers beautifull views. The terrace is very beautifull and gives unrestriced 270degree views. Food was okeyish. The rooms with balcony have very limited views while those without balconies have good views. 

Major Turn off point is that hygiene was very poor at the hotel, room glass panes were extremely dirty, room utensils were dirty. Had hygiene been better I would have rated it 4. This can be easily improved. Secondly, a minor point is that the hotel needs some major maintenance as the building, restaurant and room lobies were very old. although rooms were ok but due to poor hygiene and cleaning they appeared old.

Very beautifull property but needs improved cleanliness and maintenance

- Its old and huge property and all rooms are valley facing .
- Not the top of linen compare to other properties including toiletries but don't have complaints as I equally didn't expect . My two requirements where every I stay are clean bed and washroom and both are taken are of . Mineral water bottle provided and 24/7 hot water available .
- I took balcony sit out room and can spend hours looking at valley and spiral roads .
- Good food and amazing hospitality . Didn't face any problems in two days
- Its challenging getting into hotel due to hairpin steep bend to reach hotel and some quick calculations by drivers require.

Wonderful stay for two nights and  hospitality (Visited without much expectations )

This place is not value for money. They charged us too much for a room which doesn’t have proper facility. The room was so basic, old, not clean. The bed was so so old that my back start hurting. This can’t be a weekend gateway as this is situated at really away from the main road and there is not even a place to walks or do anything. Even the hotel within itself is so weird that at the time of my stay there were guests having a birthday party and they were burning crackers. Yes they polluted all the air playing so loud music and the hotel staff was really okay with that. People go to such place for peace and calm but this hotel people does not have any rules for it. They are just making money and they are not giving you any services
Food was pathetic too, and quantity they give is not even enough for one person 
This hotel actually proved to be my worst choice.
I am a traveller and most of my time i stay away from home but i would never recommend this place to anyone

The Worst experience ever

The view from the hotel is just amazing as it’s located at the top, visible from each room.  The luxury room was such a delight to stay in. The furniture was a bit dated but I guess they are in process of revamping. It makes a perfect venue for the destination wedding too.  Hotel staff was also very welcoming especially Krishna. Perfect for a peaceful getaway.

Mesmerising views!

I travelled to this beautiful location in the month of Jan-21. It was a necessary visit to relax, as we have been away from travel for such a long time due to COVID. But thankfully, it opened up well and we got a chance to explore outside. 
I travelled to Barog just to have a handon experience of toy train ride and stayed in this property for one night. Honestly, this is an amazing property, top of the hill, you will have an iconic view of nature. Lot of other activities like games, rides are also there for your to enjoy. But what a view from hotel.............. truly world class, truly amazing.

I am shocked to see that it has been rated as 2nd best hotel in Solan but then may be it is because there are very few hotels in Solan city. The name is Big and it is very old hotel so many knows about it.
I booked it on the spot at the reception and i got the room for 3500 per night including BF. I was so sure of the place coz of its big name and so much hype of the location.i din't even bothered to check the room before booking. I just paid at the reception and went to the room and as i stepped into the room i was so disgusted of the foul smell and stained bed sheets and broken heater. It was very bad. I thought may be its the room fault, may be this room was bad, i requested them to give me another room,they saod all booked, so i said ok give me the money back i dnt want it, so they gave my another room on 3rd floor.it was bigger this time and the room condition was still the same but after a discussion with my wif that its late and i dnt know any ither hotel nearby,lets just sleep the night and move from here next day. I asked the bell boy that while we were coming towards reception we noticed some DJ equipments, is any wedding organized for today coz we dnt want any sound pollution in the night. He very confidently replied no way the wedding is tomorrow ita just the preps. Now we were satisfied but wait, around 9 pm the DJ started playing and it was a cocktail party. 🤬 they were making so much noise and at around 11 pm the moved the dj inside the hotel. Yes you read right,inside the hotel. Wait there's more the ppl of the wedding had booked the entire floor and they had that big boom box karaoke which the continued in the room later after 1 am and there was no one to stop them. I tried calling reception but guess what, the phones dnt work.
The guys were abusing each other,yelling in the lobby and playing music as per their convinience.
Me and my wife just prayed to survive the night. And next morning we just fled from there after paying any pending coffee bill.
I would definately suggest not to stay here until you have no other place to go and stuck for the night. Check out the pictures of this sh**y hotel.

Most pathetic hotel ever

Please don't go by number of good reviews this hotel has got. Most of those might be because of location. I too chose to stay at Barog Heights after seeing good reviews here but it proved totally opposite of what I expected.
Location is undoubtedtly good but it's not very easy to reach there. Property is decent but service from the hotel is painfully terrible. Deluxe rooms gives feel of a cheap lodge. Super deluxe rooms are also below average for the price i paid. Hotel doesn't offer Wifi and mobile internet doesn't work properly at the location so can be a problem for few. 
Food is extremely overpriced and quality was awfully bad. It tasted stale and on day 1 had some stomach discomfort after dinner. Hotel is totally not worth it, better to look for other options. Please don't waste it hard earned money on this garbage service provider. I would never go back to this hotel if I visit barog again.

Pathetic Hotel!

Located on the hill top of Barog Hill station this Hotel offers breathtaking views of the Kasauli Hills and other surrounding peaks. Rooms are spacious. Facilities are average. Food is good. Service is good. It’s an old property but has gotten some refurbishments done recently. New rooms are cleaner and better equipped. Good place for a weekend getaway. They have play area with Table Tennis, Snooker and other indoor games.
