We went with our family to the resort and enjoyed our stay surrounded by nature. All meals provided had great variety and taste… Their live entertainment on weekend was great too. Staff was extremely courteous and took care of all the guest needs

Serene and Calm

Have been to many places and this has been my latest favourite resort. 

1. Resort is inside a rain forest. We can see many types of trees and species walking around the resort. 
2. While going from reception to restaurant, there is a hanging bridge which is really really beautiful with a stream below. 
3. There is one natural pool and one artificial swimming pool. Natural pool is very scenic and very beautiful
4. I have seen Malabar giant squirrel, cicaada, long tailed bird, black langoor, 2 snakes(one is brown and blue in color and both non-poisonous)
5. Its very cold even in march and it rained for 10 mins the 2 days we were there. 
6. Naturalists ( Daniel and Avinash) - both of them knowledgeable in their own ways take us on treks morning at 7am and evening at 4pm). 
7. FROM 4:30am to 6am, malabar whistle thrush will be making beautiful whistles to wake us up. I personally enjoyed a lot and woke up at 4am the next day chasing the thrush.
8. There is a beautiful stream with natural pool and a small waterfall inside the property
 9. Food is everything included and RAJITH took care of us very well. 
10. We can explore the whole resort and it takes minimum 1 day to just roam around and observe the species in whole resort.
11. There was a magic show by elderly couple which was really good the day we went.
12. There is a jacuzzi in each and every room(vythiri haven) which is the least cost room. 
13. Room was spacious and all the resources were reused by the staff and there was no plastic
14. There were lot of fishes at entrance and kids enjoyed the same
15. There were indoor games like chess, carroms, billiards and swing(this is for below 5 year olds)
16. There were sports turfs also.
17. There were monkeys all around the resort and staff treated the monkeys also kindly
18. We were taken to a good waterfall nearby to property(i went there 5 times in 2 days)
 
NOTE : DONOT FEED ANY ANIMALS AS THEY WOULD FIND IT DIFFICULT TO GO INTO WILD ONCE FED

We had visited Vythri Resort on a family vacation for 4 days. 

The place is an excellent getaway from busy life of a city living- absolutely quite and only chirping of birds and Malabar Squirrel and if your lucky of Nilgiri Langurs !!

Location : Its located very close to the Vytheri town- about 3.5 kms of the main road- access road is broadly ok. 

The resort is perfectly positioned perched on top of a hillock admist a lush green evergreen forest - and nicely integrated with the stream of water running right through the resort. 

Front office staff: Praveen and other staff are very courteous and helpful. They are always available on call.  

Stay: We chose a category of stay called Vytheri Heaven- which is sufficient for 3 adults- very spacious and washroom is quite large and comfortable with all amenities . Very very clean and well maintained. 
Almost all categories of stay overlook the stream- hence there is a pleasant sound of water flowing !

Food: All food is served only in the restaurant - which is about 5 -10 minutes of walk from the rooms. Its across the stream- hence need to cross a hanging bridge- very nice experience. The staff at the Restaurant- are all very courteous and attend to the Guests needs in a very pleasant manner. They are very polite and cheerful. Good variety of food and fresh too !  The Chefs are doing a very good job ! Their baked products are very good too.

We interacted with Rajith , Manoj  and Ajeesh who head the restaurant team and also with Rinsha, Thahir, Sudessh,Nived,Bibas- all of whom are very friendly. They give personalised attention to all the guests needs. 

Housekeeping: You can seek water and room cleaning anytime and the staff in the housekeeping department attend to it promptly- very energetic set of staff.

Naturalists: We interacted with Daniel and Avinash- they are very knowlegable of the tree types, birds and mammals of the region and organised a good nature walk in the morning and evenings.  If you are patient, can spot quite varied birds and hear their bird calls too !!

Activtites: There is a swimming pool, TT Table, Carrom board and play area for kids. There are 2 open Badminton courts and a small football area.
 

Few things to keep in mind:

i. Resort is in the midst of a forest- its a nature lovers dream ! At the same time need to respect the environment- no loud noises and avoid plastics please. A camera and pair of binoculars is a must !

ii. Access is from Mysore and Calicut. From mysore its about 4 hours- through Bandipur forest in a stretch- hence plan timing accordingly as Forest access is closed in the evenings for vehicle movement.  Road is very good. 
Calicut side- looks closer but due to Ghat section factor 3.5 hours atleast. 

iii. It can get bit chill in the nights even during summer- carry basic warm clothes. 

iv. You can request for a car if you wish to go the restaurant and don't want to walk. 

v. There is place to park your personal vehicle/tourist cab as well. However accomodation for cab drivers is not great- better for them  to stay in Vytheri village where reasonably priced rooms are available.

Excellent Place admist lush Forest !!!

We had a great time at Vythiri resort.
Rooms are luxurious, the food was delicious. All the staff members were friendly. We stayed at Vythiri haven, it actually felt like a haven. For the next visit we will definitely try the tree house. I would recommend it to all of my friends and family.

One of the best places I have visited

Beautuful resort deep in the forest.  The rooms and the buildings retain traditional features and the whole place exudes an old world charm. 
Tranquil and peaceful surroundings and we found some  beautiful forest trails.  Although we were warned daily by the staff to watch out for elephants roaming in the jungle we didn't encounter any. Plenty of photos from the staff to show they really are there and so care should be taken on early morning walks .
Our room ( vythri haven) was lovely and overlooked the stream, which must be very impressive in  the  monsoon.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we felt very much at home.
A special mention to Manoj Kumar, and his team in the restaurant and kitchen who went out of their way to serve us with new delicious daily surprises ... not an easy task as we had requested vegan and satvic food. They excelled themselves. Thank you
