We stayed three nights in Samode Safari Lodge on the jungle plan - just wow! Where to start…

Accommodation: Our suite was huge, with a living room bigger than our one at home, a huge bathroom, dressing area and bed, with a gorgeous deck outside. It had everything you could need! The main building had amazing reading and map rooms - take some time to look at the incredible photographs taken by the naturalists on the walls - it gave a sense of what was to come during the safari drives. 

Safari: Anshuman was our naturalist during our stay and was incredible! The night before our first drive, he took the time to talk us through the maps of the parks, which areas we were going to on each drive and what to expect. As an amateur in wildlife  photography, he was always looking for things for me to photograph and helpful in giving tips for improving my shots which was brilliant! We were treated to three tiger sightings during our stay, including 20 minutes watching one male tiger before the rest of the trucks arrived. His tracking and knowledge of each tiger’s behaviour and territory made this possible as it’s not easy!

Food: The food and dining experience at Samode was some of the best I’ve had on a trip and the chef even typed up recipes of my favourite dishes to go home with! The staff were incredibly attentive and knew our drink preferences each time. No dinner is the same in terms of setting and menu! 

I’ve safari’d a number of times in Africa and caught the safari bug there, but the experience here has made me want to come back to India and do it all again! Thank you for making our stay so special.

The best in Bandhavgarh!

We really enjoyed every aspect of our 4 day stay at this lodge. The lodge is well managed and everything was well coordinated. Our guide, PD, was outstanding. We saw tigers on 5 of the 6 safari drive ( saw a leopard on the 6th), but there was so much more we saa  because she was so skilled. in finding/ seeing animals. In addition, she was a great driver! The lodge itself is a peaceful place to come back to after a drive. The pool always amazingly tefreshing. The food was outstanding. Thank you Mr. Shafat. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was a spacious oasis. We are experienced travelers and this vacation was special  because of our all around wonderful experience.

A very special place

Beautiful property with huge villas and everything in them. Food is just great and served in picturesc setting. Every evening is a surprise. The camp manager could not be more helpful and accommodating. Absolutely loved it.
We went after this to Kanha....not worth it. Just stick to Bandhavgarh. Its a smaller park with more chances to see the elusive Tiger. And Samode is the place to stay.

Stunningly perfect

We were two adults and two children and felt like royalty from the moment we landed. The transfer was seamless and checkin was done very smoothly as well. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and the kids loved the adventure of going around with torches in the evenings. 

Food was delicious, felt very personalized with the staff getting to know each of us by the first day itself. 

Of course the highlight was the two safari's we did - one with Choubeyji where we had an excellent tiger citing literally meters away from where we sat, and another with Anshuman who introduced us to the rest of the big 5 in the region. 

All in all, a fantastic trip! Thanks very much to the excellent team for making our experience so memorable. We'll be back for sure.

We had a brilliant experience at the lodge!

Samode was simply wonderful from the moment we arrived until the moment we left and was the highlight of our holiday in India. Nothing was too much trouble for the team who paid attention to our every want or desire. The naturalists are excellent: knowledgable and passionate about conservation and wildlife. We saw many phenomenal tigers but also a myriad of other flora and fauna. Not only were the safaris sensational, but the lodge itself is welcoming, clean and the food out of this world. If we could rate Samode higher, we would. We loved every moment - thank you Samode team for making our first trip to India so memorable. Wish we didn’t have to leave - Samode is AMAZING!

Most luxurious property in the wild, beautiful rooms, cosy library, dining experience was amazing. Food was just amazing, best in the wild, far far better than Taj Safaries, quality, servings, ingredients, variety of preparations and dishes were fabulous.

Only point of disappointment is hospitality. Zero interaction, staff would not even ask for well being at property, any special requirements, safaries, food on safari was poorest but again mentioning food at lodge was best !!

Experience better than Taj-Safaries..

We had a beautiful experience at the Samode Safari Lodge last week, while we visited with our family. An extremely well curated property with attention to detail & service. Anshuman & Priyam were an absolute treat! And they made us feel at home with all our requirements being met. The Safari experience was informative, exhilarating & inspiring. Additionally each meal & the experiential dining was exceptional. We’re sure to return back soon for another round of fabulous hospitality at the Samode Safari Lodge. A luxuriant stay in the middle of a beautiful forest. 

An excellent stay in the Bandhavgarh National Park with attention to detail. One is sure to feel refreshed post visiting

Samode...was Home Away From Home..we had the most amazing  Hosts Anshuman & Priyam who made our trip and stay the most memorable...Every Detail from our Room to F&B  to Our Drives  the Service was a 💯.

Most Memorable Trip

We had a memorable stay at Samode! Excellent property set amidst wilderness, spacious rooms, very hospitable staff (taking care of minutest of details such as towels after the drive and a warm foot bath in the room), superb food (thanks to Chef Shafat who made whatever we wanted) and lovely massages at the spa. 

Do not miss their secret bush dinners :)

A big shout out to Anshuman who’s the GM and also a super wildlife enthusiast. His knowledge of the park is mind blowing and was an excellent guide on all our drives.

Excellent to the tee!

We have just returned from a safari trip to India in which we visited 3 parks and 3 lodges. Without a doubt this was our favorite lodge. The standard of the room and the food was exceptional and could not be surpassed by the other lodges. We had room 12 which was beautifully located and decorated. It was almost a shame that we did not have more time to enjoy the lodge and its facilities. The pool was gorgeous. Unfortunately we did not find the time to visit the spa, but I’m sure it would have been very enjoyable. The food was of an exceptional standard, both lunch and dinner. And we loved that dinner was served in 3 different locations. All locations were beautiful and contributed to thespecial feeling that the lodge gave us. Also the game drives were very good. We got our first tiger after 10 minutes on our first drive. And then we could relax and hope for more. And we got more. We saw a second tiger, a herd of wild elephant, a jungle cat and countless deer, birds and monkeys. Combined with the spectacular beauty of the park we had a top safari experience. We therefore highly recommend this lodge.
