Serene and Eco friendly Village - Tordi

Beautiful building, clean and tastefully decorated rooms. We came here as part of an organised group and the hotel arranged a tour of the village, seeing the local communities working in the fields and doing pottery and arranged a sunrise hike up the hearby hill. The villagers were so friendly, it was a wonderful experience and peaceful break from the cities!

Beautiful rural location

Fantastic, spacious rooms with great air conditioning & fans. Food was authentic, tasty and excellent value. We did an evening safari to a small nearby village, a dam followed by sunset on sand dunes with refreshments, all for a very low price. A 5am start the next day took us for a guided hike up a high hill to Tordi Fort for sunrise and amazing views across the surrounding area. Again, this was exceptional value but probably not a good idea for anyone not in good health.
There was a bar of sorts that was more than adequate for our group and we chatted late in to the evening on the roof, under the stars. Before we departed, we were taken on another guided tour of the actual village (free)
Staff were all friendly and helpful and our stay was well worth the maximum score.

An overnight stay in Tardi Garh

Aimed more at overnight visitors on a coach tour. As independent travellers, we felt like 2nd class citizens. 

But Navratan, who I think was in charge, was excellent. He had very little English, so it was difficult to get information about the surroundings. But he tried his hardest, and was a pleasure. And he got us on the bus to our next stop, which was Pushkar; don't think we would have made it without him! 

Not good for independent travellers. 

Rural village a bit out of the way but a great way to get an insight into life in a village. Very friendly locals who are happy for a chat and to proudly show you their local life.
An overnight stay in the palace hotel is a unique experience and a great place to catch the sunset from the rooftop

A glimpse of everyday village life

Me and my partner had the most amazing time here and would full recommend everyone to come and visit! 
Our room was beautiful and the home stay was very grand with multiple courtyards. Hemendra Singh was an amazing host and was helpful before arrival answering any questions and organising a car for us from Jaipur. 
Our tour guide went above and beyond to show us around the village and we also went on the jeep tour in the evening. All of the people at Tordi Garh were so hospitable and  friendly.

An amazing experience!

I’m so glad that my tour included a stay at the Tordi Garh. You can feel that their hospitality is truly genuine. Even though the accommodations are quite basic (as far as amenities), the rooms are very charming, with beautiful colored glass windows and an old world feel. My main concern was air conditioning and the rooms do have a modern a/c that works well. There is room for improvement for very simple things, for example, in the bathroom, the shower products were either used or dried up from lack of usage. Also, the patio furniture really needs replacing. They cook delicious traditional Indian food and even set up a bar to purchase adult beverages so dinner in the evenings are great, specially with the option of dining under the stars. The whole family is involved in the operation, even their teenage daughters were very helpful and extremely friendly. 
I would definitely recommend.

A Trip Back in Time

Excellent service from the staff, clean facilities and excellent food could not recommend this place more. On our stay we were apart of a group tour and even got to play a few games of cricket with some of the staff.

Beautiful establishment

What an amazing experience staying in this 16th century palace, surrounded by countryside, beautiful views and a town with a welcoming population. I came here with Intrepid in a group and all of us will remember this place as a heilight of our trip. It was such a nice change of pace to the major cities. My only regret was that I didn't stay longer.

Beautiful palace in the Indian Countryside

We stayed here for one night during our intrepid tour and it was fantastic! Everyone was hospitable, the food was delicious, the rooms/ building itself felt very special and the views were incredible. We were taken on a tour of the town and it was so fascinating to see another facet of Indian life away from the hustle and bustle of the cities. If you get the opportunity to stay here, do it! It’s worth your time and you won’t be disappointed.
