The manager needs to be changed, he is a lier, rest the property is average, do not expect anything very good. 
Food is good. 
Do not book palki from the hotel. 

Good property to stay at Janki chatti, i guess the only good one, maybe that’s l why they take advantage and lie.

The view from cottage of snow clad mountains was mesmerising.staff is very polite and helpful, enjoyed delicious food and photographing coloursful birds in the morning . Yamunotri trek starts just from here and it’s a beautiful trek.

Beautiful trip overall

Pleasantly surprised to find Cottages/Swiss tents with all latest amenities at such an altitude in a remote and scantily populated Himalayan range. Cozy rooms, Running Hot Water, Delicious Hygienic Food, Nice View, Beautiful camping area, Travel & Palki/Pony facilities.... can't ask for more!!

Nice Camping Area

Yamunotri Cottages is located next to Helipad about 50 meters away. It is the best stay that you can have while visiting the Yamunotri dham. Hotel provides hot water facility, dining facility and cozy rooms. Rooms are just OK. Palki facility is arranged by hotel for Yamunotri dham and it is recommended to have one. Only BSNL network works here.

Next to Helipad

We had made booking with Yamunotri Cottages and made advance payment almost a month ago of Check In. The Hotel was well aware about the water pipe damage and still did not make the repairs. It was a group of approx 21 people. There was no water at the Hotel. If the Hotel cannot maintain itself whats the use of operating such Hotel. They could have made arrangements by providing water through water tanker or any other sources but none could be arranged. Our entire group faced lot of issues because of it. Poor Services. We would not recommend this property. Not at all worth the money paid.

very good place to stay for family where the staff takes care of you like a family.first i found the place to little remote but its excellent for its surrounding mountains and scenery.few steps away from helipad.

Well! First of all of you will find my review a sheer contrast to what you see here by other travelers. So my disclaimer before you read on – “This is based on my personal experience and may be it was just one of the days where everything goes wrong”

It was an impromptu visit, not planned at all. I did not even make any reservations for any hotel/resort online because I was all in for trying my luck this time and wanted to explore as I go.

I spoke to the gentleman over the phone and agreed to stay in one of the newly constructed rooms for 4500 per night inclusive of breakfast and dinner. Looking at the room and the setting the price didn’t seem a lot and we readily agreed. I travel a lot and I think this is a bit over priced given it was not a peak season. (I travelled on 11th Sep)

Things which didn’t go the way they should – 
•	Toilet Roll – Missing
•	Battery for Remote Controls missing – Provided on request
•	Mosquito repellant
•	Water Pressure (Biggest Issue) – The water barely trickles down the tap and especially if you have the geyser switched on and trying to fill a bucket of hot water, it took us approx. 15-20 minutes.
•	Mattress is good looking but not comfortable
•	Pillows are way too bulky for comfort – Could hardly catch up on any sleep.
o	I used the cushions as pillows to get some sleep
•	Dinner (Huge Issue) – Chana Dal, Jeera Aloo, Roti and Rice. – I felt this was a very limited menu given the price of the room. I was not expecting a huge spread of meals but at least something better than what you will get in a small road side Dhaba.
o	The resort is not situated in a very remote place and therefore sourcing some of the items like Curd, Paneer etc. should be easy.
•	Breakfast – Aloo Paratha and Poha – Again I think eggs could have been an option at least I should have been asked.
•	Power – The power supply was very intermittent and generator only supported us till about 12am. Post this I had to totally depend on my mobile torch.
Check out was smooth barring while I was sitting for the breakfast, a member of staff walked in and advised that TV remote is missing and they can’t find it. I advised that it will be there only however he didn’t seem convinced. I offered to go with him and look for it.  I think and feel that a general courtesy is that you do not disrupt someone having a meal and he could have waited. However I did go with him to the room and found the remote for him.
Second issue was with one of the face towels. We had spilled ash and water on one of the side tables and therefore wanted to wipe it off so that furniture does not get spoiled however could not find any tissue or toilet roll so instead of waking people at night we used the hand-towel to wipe it off. I agree its not the most ideal medium for wiping however had to make a choice between leaving the bedside table just like that or wipe it dry.

During check out, the manager “Captain Shakti” waived the towel and asked for the reason of why it was so dirty. I advised him that its ash and its totally washable however he very curtly said “You guys take it with you and pay us for this” I paid INR 100 without flinching an eyelid and walked off.
When someone is running a resort or a hotel they need to realize that it’s not their home and some of the wear tear they have to account for and include it as their operational costs. 

Well, this is only a personal view and I feel this was uncalled for. Overall not a pleasant stay. Yes we did not hire a chopper to reach there, and that’s why the fact that helipad is right next to the resort does not make a difference to me.

I may have picked very small issues but for me all these things make up for a complete experience and a lot is dependent on the price you are paying. The higher is the amount paid the better are the services expected. 

I am former hotelier myself having worked in many 5 star properties across India and the UK, and I feel this time the services fell short of expectations.
