A real home stay! Only a few rooms, neat, clean and spacious. The owner is always ready to help and cares for people as well as animals and plants. 
Varkala villa is situated on the beautiful and calm South cliff. The proximity to the ocean gives you the peaceful and steady rhythm of the waves at all times of the day. It’s a perfect spot if you want good sleep. If you happen to look for night life, the lively North cliff is at walking distance. 
I really enjoyed my three week stay here and I felt really well looked after. Thank you Binu and Sheeba!

Peaceful home stay

I stayed here for 9 days with my family and it felt like home. The owner, Sunil Ji, is super helpful and he made our staying hassle free. The rooms are very clean and comfy. Moreover, the guests can use the kitchen and there is a very pretty dining area on the rooftop. I warmly recommend this place to anyone!!!

Best place in Varkala!!

I have stayed twice in one of the bamboo cottages. The manager is extremely caring and goes out of his way to be helpful and the rooms are really clean. Mosquito screening on all the windows means no need for nets and there is hot water in the bathroom. for the price, it’s excellent. Traditional Kerala breakfast is included also. There’s a nice little Veranda outside the room to hang out on (though I don’t know what the other rooms are like). Nice for young children to be able to run around safely in the garden.

The location is at the quiter end of Varkala, which i actively prefer. Very near Soul and Surf and Green Pepper restaurant (which is set overlooking a cliff view to the sea, like a Caribbean hideaway). But if you want to be in the bustling main drag, this isn’t for you.

No furniture except the bed. No chair, no glass nor cup, not even a single piece of soap.
But a lot of ants instead !
No cleaning of the room during our 3 day stay.
I’ve to ask the change of the towels.
No see view as supposed to have.
Breakfast correct but served on the cottage terrace à 9.00 am which is rather late.

3 days in Varkala

This place would be fine if the price reflected the service but it simply does not. This 'hotel' is so overpriced it is laughable. We booked in on a family holiday looking for a classy experience. However this place was such a let down. 

Staying there for five days my room was not cleaned once by the bone idle staff. Asking them to do anything is always a bridge too far as they often roll their eyes. 

The breakfast was very poor, no effort was put into it. 

The rooms were extremely hot with the AC not working. 

The bathrooms were very dirty. 

The location is poor, with it being a 20 minute walk to the main beach. 

Do not stay here!

Shockingly bad

I stayed here for a couple of nights. It's a nice quiet place on the southern cliff. There are cafes and shops, but it's accessible on foot. But on the southern cliff you don't have to wait for this, it's quiet and quiet. The staircase to the best beach in Wakkal is 50 meters. The owner Sunil is very kind, helps and suggests everything. I arrived at 5 am, I was taken without extra charge and fed breakfast.

It's a nice quiet place.

Varkala Villas is a family hotel of the lovely and hospitable spouses Sunil and Minnie on the South Strait. The family also has a guesthouse Haven Resort, which is a little further away. From there close to the beach, which is a little lower than its territory. The owners will gladly fulfill any request you made and take you to the airport, organize any excursions. When I got sick, they brought me medicines and asked me about my health.

Suitable for a couple of nights.

Without much hesitation, we booked a bungalow in the Varkala Villas. And we liked it super well, because on the one hand the bungalows are pretty, on the other hand the staff are very nice and helpful, the breakfast is served with fresh pineapple juice, and since you can walk 10 minutes to a beach area that is almost empty! But it's not the cheapest and most direct sea view missing. Unfortunately, the morning music from the temple was also so good to hear that it wasn't really possible to fall asleep. But since the positive points were so convincing, we could look away with confidence.

The best you can get in Varkala

Haven beach resort is located in the quieter part of varkala, on the southern cliff; you can walk to the beach which is very quiet. The reception is very warm and the rooms are very clean. There are plenty of places next door to do Ayurvedic massages or even cures. The terrace overlooking the sea is a bonus because you can do yoga or meditation in peace. There is only one room with air conditioning but a ventilator is really enough. I look forward to going back there.....

very nice place and well placed

In January, I had booked a Seaview Bamboo Cottage over the Internet in advance and paid for it. 2000INR, it's 33€, quite a high price. I had imagined it to be a bungalow overlooking the sea, as announced. But in between there are two other cottages, then a garden, a wall, and behind it you can guess the horizon of the sea. There is no warm water in the bathroom. My neighbors only paid half for the same bungalow (without AC) because they had not booked in advance.
