During my recent stay at The House Tour Midtown in Bandung, I was intrigued by the hotel's aesthetic design, which looked impressive in the online pictures and Instagram posts. However, my overall experience turned out to be a mixed bag, with some positive aspects but also several areas that need significant improvement.

Firstly, the hotel's online portrayal was somewhat misleading, as it appeared much larger and more grandiose in pictures than it actually was in reality. As a small 2-star hotel, it lacked the spaciousness and scale that the images suggested, leading to a bit of disappointment upon arrival.

The location of the hotel in a residential area did offer a quieter environment, but it was fortunate to be near Bandung's popular cafes and culinary options, making it convenient for exploring local eateries.

Unfortunately, during my visit, the hotel was undergoing renovation, which limited the available amenities and activities. This was disappointing, especially for guests who were looking forward to enjoying some downtime at the hotel.

On the positive side, the hotel staff deserves praise for accommodating my early check-in request at 10 a.m. Their friendliness and willingness to assist were appreciated. Additionally, they upgraded my room type, which was a pleasant surprise and added to the overall experience.

The room itself was aesthetically pleasing, featuring well-thought-out decor and design elements. However, the quality of the linen and towels was subpar. They appeared worn-out and lacked the freshness and crispness one would expect from a hotel, indicating a need for improvement in this area.

Throughout my stay, it was evident that The House Tour Midtown is managed by a local management team. While the staff were polite and helpful, there were noticeable maintenance issues within the hotel that required attention. The overall upkeep of the property left something to be desired, impacting the overall impression of the establishment.

In conclusion, The House Tour Midtown in Bandung offers an aesthetically pleasing experience, but it falls short in several critical areas. The hotel's small size and limited amenities, coupled with the ongoing renovation, created a less-than-ideal stay. The friendly staff, early check-in flexibility, and room upgrade were positive aspects, but the quality of linen and towels and the maintenance of the property need serious attention. With necessary improvements, The House Tour Midtown could become a more appealing option for travelers seeking a charming stay in Bandung.

The House Tour Midtown in Bandung - Aesthetic Design with Room for Improvement

Glass house under construction quite noisy, restaurant area closed and tunred into rooms makes the lobby feel so tight. Towels bedsheets are quite old and stained there were ciggarete marks km the towels. Did not feel clean and quite a dull colour like it has been used alot and old. Use to be a great clean hotel but was quite disapointed this time with the price,noise and dirty sheets and towels. Needs alot of maintnance and up datesfor it to keep its name and past fame.

Much needed maintnance all over

Situated in the upper centre part of Bandung, hence the easier access to Lembang and also upper part of Bandung (e.g. setiabudi, sukajadi, dago)

Comfy room with unique room decoration that feels like home, I bet the owner must be a fan of Wes Anderson with all of the pastel theme experience

Plus side:
1. The room - went to stay on 2 rooms, the medium one and large with bath tub, both the room is spacious and well decorated
2. Location - located not on the main road gives that serene and homy feeling of Bandung city

Not so plus side:
1. The Room - the medium room located near the restaurant if you are kind of sensitive to noise during your sleep, then avoid these room
2. Price - for a two star hotel in bandung, it is quite pricey, but hey I am buying the experience and well decorated room here

Comfy, well decorated room, and strategic location

For a 2-star hotel, this place is quite overbudget compared with its facilities and room qualities. Towel hanger in my room is broken it even collapse when I tried to hang my clothes there. The room is not cleaned completely, debris are still flying make my sister (that is sensitive with it) sneezed everywhere. However, the ambience of the hotel is astonishing. Located in the higher side of Bandung (upper Ciumbuleuit to be exact) make the place very comfortable. Its interior design is very good and matched the surroundings. This hotel is good for couples.

Hope the management will take action to make the room cleaner, reliability for its components needs to be fixed so people will more comfortable to stay

Good place to stay in, minor things to fix

They have good ambience, and great refreshing building.. 
also their staff are amazing.. 
trying their latte during breakfast, turns out great..
Their rooms are so unique, and the unfortunate thing is only the parking lot, it can be added somehow..

Nice hotel

Pros:
- comfy and cold weather of Bandung near Ciumbuleuit area makes everything feels extra homie
- small area makes the place feel personal due to less crowd
- just cute minimalist modern design that ables to attract users, other than that meh

Cons:
- don't stay here when it's holiday, peak season, long weekend or simply when it's full, because the water heater will stop working (the hot water tank is not sufficient enough to supply for the entire rooms) - upgrade please? (Picture show the technician entering our room trying to fix the water heater to no avail)
- book the room with balcony expecting us to be able to smoke easily, eh they actually don't allow it at all.. shame that we paid extra for no additional benefit..
- the sofa potting shed corner is overrated
- breakfast is just ok, with tendency if it running out of food when you have breakfast at the last minute
- messy corner below the staircase (don't arrange your utensils in front of someone's room la, get a proper warehouse or something at the back of your building?) 

For the cost of almost a mio per night, its actually better to stay in a proper hotel with 4 or 5 star. 

Overrated, don't expect much

The hotel is not located in the main road. It’s not far from the main road but the street to the hotel is very dark when the sun sets.
The room is nice, dining area (which is also is a restaurant) is really beautiful, the buffet breakfast was good with plenty choices of foods, in-room internet is unstable at times but works perfectly in dining area.
It’s a good place for traveling solo or with friends.

Cozy, good food, good ambiance

Everything you'd expect if not more for a 2 star accommodation. 

From their service to their hospitality - It was hard to find any faults. 

Their ice coffee special was to die for, room service was amazing. Breakfast had a nice spread (It is a small hotel so don't expect much), however the staff were very accommodating of any breakfast request. 

My only regret was not staying longer. Also if I had the opportunity I'd book the extra large room for our whole stay but I wanted to experience the room with a balcony as well as the one with a window seat and that was one of the best decisions I've ever made. 

Their Instagram page was what prompt me to make a booking. 

Also note that there is no elevator and the location is a fair distance away from the main road where pretty much all the stores are located and also the road to get to the hotel is very windy and all up hill.
