We were able to find the villa very easy. Its incredibly clean. Staff came and made the beds, did a general tidy of the room. The air con was nice and cold- as was the fridge.
We were a little disappoint to find that the pool was a shared pool, with the 2 other villas as we were to believe it was a private pool. However, this was not really an issue.

Our December 2019 stay

An oasis of tranquility in the sea of hustle and bustle. The VIP rooms have 3 double rooms and an open kitchen grouped around a small but very beautiful pool. The rooms are very large and very clean. There is a very good and quiet air conditioning and a very good and also very quiet refrigerator in the room. The staff has a reliable solution for all transportation questions (taxis and scooters). The facility is located a little in the hinterland. 10 minutes walk to the beach. The main road is extremely narrow and very busy. In the facility the noise of the streets is not audible, but not heard.

An Oasis of Tranquility in the Sea of Hectic

Overall, we really enjoyed our short stay at Ayu, and would recommend it for a holiday in Canggu. Unfortunately there were just a few bits that make it difficult to give it 5*, and mean that we would probably look elsewhere first before booking this in the future.

Our first impressions were fantastic. The location is particularly good. It's in a nice quiet spot only a few minutes away from some really nice restaurants, and just 5-10 minutes walk to the beach. We booked the VIP room with access to a pool, which was beautiful. The booking site we used made it very clear which rooms did and didn't have pools, so we didn't have a problem there (most negative reviews seem to stem from confusion as to whether someone booked a room with a pool or not).

The room and facilities offered with the VIP room are fantastic. There is a clean well kept kitchen area, with free access to a water cooler. The room also has a large fridge, which makes sitting out on the terrace with your own food and drinks a great way of saving some money. The bathroom in the room is probably one of the nicest we've come across on our travels, and the room is stylish and really well set up, with AC that works great. One nice aspect, that seems to vary widely between similar properties in Bali, is that the room was cleaned every day, which is nice to come back to.

Our main issue came with the hot water, which only seemed to run for 1-2 minutes at a time before going cold, no matter what time of the day you tried to have a shower. We raised this with the staff, as we thought it looked like the water heater in the bathroom was faulty, but he seemed to suggest it was normal, and nothing was done to fix it during our stay.   We also found the staff, whilst friendly, were often missing from reception, and therefore difficult to get hold of. At checkout we had to ring them to find them (you would expect them to be there pretty consistently at checkout time), then had to do the same after leaving our bags locked up at reception with them. One other slightly frustrating thing is that, although the pool area outside the room is lovely, there really isn't anywhere to lie out by the pool. You can sit on your terrace, or get in the pool, but it doesn't really lend itself to sunbathing.

Lovely place with a couple of issues

We were there for eight nights with my friends and we had no problems of any kind. The only thing I would recommend is to put the money and valuables you want to leave in the safe so that you can be sure that no one steals anything. We had no problem doing this. The staff were all very kind and available, there was also the possibility to take a nice dip in the pool. I would recommend booking the new rooms, which are much nicer. They only cost a few euros more.

It's not a problem.

I went with a group of friend but my boyfriend and I got the “VIP room” with the pool as my friends got the “cheaper” version without the pool. I would highly suggest the room with the pool since it’s always so hot there and it’s nice to be able to get in the pool whenever you get back to the hotel. The Staff was really nice and was willing to help with whatever we asked. We got picked up from the airport from them and also rented some motorbikes so they made everything so much easier. We had room cleaning everything but we had to ask for new towels each time we needed some (they get smelly really quick). But overall it was a really good experience. There is a supermarket and pharmacy at waking distance and also a coffee shop. I will definitely go back. 

Cheap and comfortable 

Great guest house with clean rooms and a nice bathroom. 
Unfortunately we booked a guest house which very much showed it had a pool for guest use. On arrival we were told that only VIP rooms have a pool and they are all
Booked. This is not at all what the listing displayed and very misleading. 

Advert Misleading 

The rooms are very big and the bathroom is good with hot water and a good shower.  The room also had large fridge which was useful. 
However, when booking the guest house all the photos and information show a pool. We were informed when we arrived that this was only for VIP rooms use and they were fully booked so we could not use the pool. This was the main reason we bookes to stay here so very frustrating.

Advertised hotel was misleading

We stayed at Ayu Guesthouse 2 in Canggu for 5 nights and just can warn you not to book there! The owner asked us to pay the bill in advance what we did and it seems like he had his reason to do so. Cause in the end we checked that 100€ put in a bag that never left the room were gone. Asking the owner and his stuff who took the money they just laughed in our faces! DON´T BOOK THERE! There are too many options around so better don´t take the risk and don´t book at a thefts accomodation!

And by the way: The A/C was so laud that we woke up several times a night (even after telling the owner about the problem he didn´t get that fixed)

Warning!!! Money stolen from room!!!

Do not go at Ayus Guesthouse 2!! 
After three nights we had to pay for the accomodation (they asked us several times) and on our last day they had stolen our money. We counted it the day before and have no doubt that they have the money. They are calling some people with their smartphones, were nervous and at the end they laughed at us and said we can call the police if we want. (By the way: the police in indo is very corrupt)

Go anywhere else... :( 


WARNING!!! They STOLEN our money

The house has really beautiful garden, rooms are nice and clean. The owner took us from the airport, he waited very long as our luggage came last and we were very happy to see he was still waiting us. We also rented a scooter from him at a very reasonable price. The man who was cleaning our room was also very friendly and kind. The place is close to the beach, there is a big store nearby and several restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay in Ayu guest house 2 and would recommend it to our friends as well.
