My partner and I stayed at Zoe Villas for 5 days and 4 nights.
The villa easily organised airport transfers. Although reception was un-attended upon check-in at approximately 7.30pm, we communicated via WhatsApp. We loved the setup of the villa.

A few not so goods:
- The mosquitos were rampant at sundown, and there was no screen door protecting the villa. We had to purchase our own mosquito coils and set them up (the villa did provide insect spray but we weren't so keen on inhaling this spray).
- We would have liked to be greeted upon check-in however we understand some may prefer this non-interaction.

Overall the position is very accessible to all of the major bars and eateries of Canggu, or a very small car trip away. We loved the pool size. We will definitely recommend Zoe Villas to our friends!

Great location, but take mosquito coils!

Zoe Villa is in a great location, with large rooms. The room just was in need of a facelift (paint and some cleaning). Overall average for the price. The room we had was a bit awkward is some construction areas around look into the villa, and a bit noisy at night with neighbouring properties but died down before 11. 

Lots of space,  but needs TLC

The title says it all. I was extremely happy with the service of the front desk and restaurant. They were extremely courteous and helpful during my stay.the only concern was the reception closes at around 10.00p.m and opens at 8.00a.m but they waited for me until 11.00p.m until i safely checked-in. Was a bit concerned if needed assistance from late night till morning if had any issues with the water or electricity. The villa i stayed was exceptionally well maintained. I was a bit turned off with the unavailability of tea / coffee. Toiletries were adequate as for i bring my own all the time. The pool was good but due to the weather it was chilly. Plenty off privacy and room service is fast and reasonably priced.  I just wanted to experience the privacy of having my own villa with pool and not bad for a start but could have been better. Only a few niggling issues which i choose to ignore. The management should look into making the price more competitive based on what they have to offer.

The service was exceptionally good but there is room for improvement in rooms

My booking was cancelled one day before my stay and I was informed the villa are fully booked. They informed me my booking was cancelled due to credit card issue. I was really disappointed with the hotel management because they didn’t emailed or contacted me one week earlier before. My husband and I were really looking forward to our honeymoon stay at Zoe Villa but it was such a letdown knowing the fact that the hotel management simply cancelled our booking on such notice.

Terrible hotel reservation 

Stayed for 3 nights with zoe villa based off reviews but overall feel of the villa feels a lack of maintenance. 

The two stars are for the pool specifically. Amenities are lacking with dirty cups for brushing, few towels around.
Hot water was literally non existent.

Had a birthday setup which costs us approx 350k, which was rather well setup.

Two consecutive nights, upon bathing centipiedes crawled out from the bathing wood slits and could have bitten us at anytime. They are almost 6cm!

Middle of the night there was a power outage at 3am and had to go out to seek help with no reception present. Luckily it came back an hour plus later but we had a bad night's sleep with the disruption.

Unfortunately i cannot recommend this place to the rest with many others available in the canggu area.

I must admit the location is on point in terms of all the great food you can find!

Poorly maintained villa, dangerous bugs.

Booked Zoe Villa in advance through Agoda indicating we were honeymooners. We booked 29Mar to 02Apr19 and was given villa 9. When we checked in, we noticed that they didn’t make the room extra special for us - just your standard clean, made up bed and nothing else. We were a little disappointed especially considering the fact that we got married that very day. 

I called reception about in-room massage and I made a booking for the next day at 10am. Sometime later, a staff came to our villa with extra towels and iron/ironing board we requested for and that same person reconfirmed our booking for in-villa massage for the next day. The next morning we waited until 11am and nobody came. We then decided to have a go at the massage at a highly rated spa close by instead. As we walked past reception, I told the girl that the masseuse never arrived and she could only say with a surprised tone “She didn’t come?”...

This was supposed to be my honeymoon but somehow it was going downhill. We decided to do some cooking and spent more time at the villa. There were ants everywhere from the kitchen walls to the bathroom. To make matters worse, there weren’t any plastic bags given so we had to dump leftover food in a bin and the ants and flies were having a field day in it. Luckily I brought some plastic bags with me but the last couple of days we ran out of plastic bags and we just left mangosteen, rambutan and dragon fruit peels in the bin. Everywhere we went in Bali especially the supermarkets, they have stopped giving out plastic bags - you bring your own bag or purchase recyclable cloth bags.

During the day, the villa could get really hot and the aircon wasn’t strong enough even with the table fan provided. In our bedroom, mozzies were buzzing close to my ears. We ran out of gas while cooking and the mineral water supply was running low. Took them forever to get to our villa, it was around noon and we hadn’t had breakfast yet. It took another round of phone call to get them to come pronto. The villa only had basic amenities like body wash and shampoo so bring your own room slippers, toothbrush, body moisturiser, q-tips, etc. Despite all that, the villa was value for money as it was at a fraction of the cost of those villas in Seminyak - we paid about USD79 per night. We like Canggu better as it is rather quiet and village-like. Our pool was lovely and you could swim a few short laps in it. Beware however that the edges of the pool are quite sharp and we had a couple of scrapes between us. 

We requested for late check out till 6pm and was charged an extra IDR500,000 which I thought was pretty fair. It beats the hassle of having to move to another cheaper property for that extra few hours prior to my night flight. 

We booked Grab for my airport transfer. The driver texted asking for IDR200,000 but we bargained it down to IDR160,000. We checked the price at noon earlier was around IDR127,000 but we reckon it could be more busy on the roads at night.

My husband said goodbye to me at the airport and later on he walked about 15 minutes from the airport to Discovery mall where he got a Gojek transport for IDR20,000 back to Zoe Villa to retrieve his scooter. Talk about dirt cheap :-)

Would we return to Zoe villa? Not sure about that as there are loads of accommodation choices in Canggu to choose from.

Room for improvement 

My friend and I stayed in Zoe Villa for 2 nights. It was booked from Expedia which includes breakfast and free airport transfer. However, this place was not as good as its pictures.

They don’t have spacious parking area here and it is more suitable for motorcycle than car.

My villa was really spacious with big pool, big bedroom and big bathroom. I was really excited at first until I realized they did not have complete amenities for guests.

In the kitchen, there were only 2 small glasses (I thought it was for bathroom) and plates. You must call room service if you need spoon, fork, or bigger glass. And also they did not give you any tea, instant coffee, or bottled water. 

In the bathroom, they did not give you toothpaste (come on!). The head showers flush faucet was locked up by something and rusty AND the water was really smell I don’t know why. I expected a lot from their bathroom actually.

In the bedroom, the TV did not work but it was not a big deal for us. And also there was a problem with their door so you cannot close the door completely and mosquitoes are everywhere during the night.

The only good thing from this villa is the pool and I cannot complain.

The management should start repairing all the things in the villa. My experience is not worth of the money and I can get much better villa with same price in Canggu. I can see this villa used to have a good old moment for every traveller stayed here.

Not really well-maintained

We loved staying at this villa.  We had spent some nights in Seminyak prior and felt this accommodation to be superior to that yet similar in price. Enjoyed eating at the small cafe at the front of villas. Staff very friendly even going out of the way to travel to a supermarket to get me a big cardboard box to pack some homewares. Would stay here again. 


Tranquil 

On 03 Nov 2018 ( Sat) We checked in at 9 pm. There was no problem with the check in process.  The Hotel seemed to be older and not well maintained but we were fine with that considering what we paid ( $90 per night). 

On 04 Nov 2018 ( Sun) We came back from a day trip at 10:50 pm. There was no one at the reception for us to withdraw the villa key (the  key was kept by the reception) even though the staff emailed us before that the reception was available till 11 pm. We waited for appx 30 mins for the staff to come back and retrieve the villa key. 

Upon entering the villa, we found out there is absolute no power supply to any part of it which we reported to the manager immediately. She told us that  that was due to the central powergrid disruption that affected parts of the villa including ours and the main reception area. She said that the power supply will be back soon even though she was not sure what time the power would be restored. 

We waited for 3 more hours in the dark in the garden area (outdoor, zero mosquito repellent, this was the only area with a working power socket, we used this to charge our phones trying to contact agoda hotline) as the villa is too dark to be inside.  We asked the staff if it was feasible for them to relocate us to either other villa within the hotel or check us in to a hotel nearby. They responded saying that the other villa was reserved for other guests who have yet to arrive.

At 2 am, We noticed that the power might have been back as the main signage was lit up, the technician checked our villa and but there was still no power supply which might indicate switchboard issue.  We asked again if we can relocate but they said no and they could only send us to other villa within the vicinity but we  have to pay for the hotel. We asked for a refund for the last 2 days but they said they are unable to give us any refund as we booked through Agoda. 

At that point of time, we have given up on the hotel management and desperate for a shower and bed, thus decided to to check out  and moved to another hotel in town.  We checked out and returned the keys to the staff at 2:20 am. 

Right now, we are still waiting for Agoda to process our refund request. Hope everyone stay away from this. There are much better choices out there and it is not worth suffering this on your holidays.

Horrible Stay at Zoe

Zoe Villa Canggu is in the heart of bali with everything in vicinity we had the most amazing stay. The villa is spacious with a private pool. The staff was courteous and polite. And not to forget their long black coffee is the best I have ever had. Also their chicken burger is a must try. 

Zoe villa is less than 3 kms from canggu beach and Berawa beach and 7kms from batu Bolong Beach.Whenever visiting bali everyone must hire a scooter to explore bali.

We had an awesome stay thank you everyone at zoe villa.
