We stayed 4 nights at Sunset Hotel. Our room had a fabulous view, was clean and appointed well for the class of hotel. The star attraction of the hotel is the rooftop dining, bar and pool. An amazing place to watch sunset with a cold beer.  Food was basic but very tasty and well prepared. The price point for the restaurant is excellent value. The Nasi Goreng for breakfast is the best we've had so far in Indo! The Flores coffee is great and a wonderful way to kick start your day. The staff are friendly and very helpful.  Front office has reasonable English and can help you with most things. It’s a bit of a walk to the Labuan shopping strip, fortunately the reception can provide a ride into the Centre for approx. 50k IDR. They will also pick up and drop off to the airport, very useful and will do pickups in town too, just use what’s app to connect with them. The hotel is a bit “tired” but everything works and for the price it is an excellent place to stay. And yes, it lives up to its name.  The sunsets are incredible. We would happily stay there again. Hot tip - Resto Sesto Senso is just 100m up the hill - fabulous Italian fusion food. A secret treat.

Great value hotel

Pros :
Beautiful view. Unfortunately, the sky was cloudy so, we didn't get a nice sunset. All rooms have a balcony and over looks the sea. 

The rooms are old school but well maintained. Beds are comfy (medium hardness). Bathrooms have good water pressure and water heater. Towels, shampoo & body gel are provided. 

There is a tiny lift but you still will need to go up a flight of stairs before the lift. 

The restaurant area is open air and  very breezy when we went up in the morning. 

Free WiFi. 
Free shuttle to town at 7pm and return at 9pm. 
Free airport shuttle. Its like not more than 10 mins from the airport. 
Mini fridge and kettle provided (need to request). 

Cons :
Accessibility : Not walkable to anywhere as the roads are pretty undulating & there is no grab/gojek car, only bikes. Hotel transport is 50k per way.

There's a pretty steep flight of stairs before you get to the lift. Not recommended if you have problem with stairs. But to be fair, it does seemed like most accommodations have steep flight of stairs that you need to navigate. 

The AC doesn't cool down the room enough even at night. Most probably because of placement of ac and not serviced.

Staying a week here in Labuan at the sunset hill hotel, the room has an amazing view over the ocean. Rooms are ok and clean, with AC, balcony and a bathroom with shower and toilet and toiletries. The safe does not work at any room. At the 6th floor there’s the restaurant and a pool. Every evening there’s a shuttle service to the kota (town) from 7-9pm and the pickup point is across the kfc. Staff is very friendly

Hotel with a view

After 4 days live on boat, my family of 13 pax forced to stay one more night in Labuan Bajo because there was changes in our flight. Luckily we found this small hotel located at the hills. It was quiet and comfy, far from the hustle bustle of crowds. It’s just feels like home. Room was spacious, has great view overlooking the sea. We enjoyed last sunset in their resto at 6th floor. It has amazing view and yummy Carbonara spaghetti. 
We ordered ala carte breakfast (not include in the room rate) and the taste was nice.
Also, free airport transfer was a plus, considering there were no public transport in Labuan Bajo. 
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Sunset Hill hotel. All the staffs were very helpful, especially Mr.Andri (the receptionist) and the lady in the resto. They really put their effort to make the best of our stay.

Feels like home

After live on board for 3 day one night, we spent one night here before we go home, the place is beautifull, we live in big  room like apartement with big balcony and the view straight to the sea, actually it can full with maybe 10 people, with living room, dining room, its worth to stay here, and we can see sunset from our balcony, the minus is the place far enough from down town, so we have to take a cab, if we want to go to down town,and the cost is not small,

If I had to say only few words for my one night stay..

Good price, very spacious room, nice view from the room.

Really, this hotel price to facilities and service given is beyond my expectation. Because you get spacious room with balcony, and free airport transfer to/from airport. Great for a short getaway/transit.

Great price for a great view

I would with no doubt recommend it due to the stunning views of the sunset you get from the room.

The staff is very friendly, but they should speak better english to be more helpful. We have been welcomed with a free fresh juice drink, and also picked up at airport for free (a pity they charged us for the transport at check out, since hotel is very isolated would be nice if they do it for free).

There is a shuttle service to go to the town for dinner every night (for free at pre stablished timings). And they can also help you rent a motorbike.

They do not have lot’s of tours options, to book it better to go to the town. 

Rooms are very confortable and quiet at night, would be appreciated that they include a mosquito net or improve the balcony windows closure.

Breakfast is really good, with natural juice, nice views and an affordable price.

We really enjoyed our stay and would come back again. 

Super nice views

Excellent service and facilities! Please do choose Sunset Hill Hotel in labuan bajo for the best view and friendliest people. I was there with a friend and absolutely enjoyed the fantastic 5-star worthy view from our bedroom. 

Impressive 1 night stay

We stayed at sunset for 9 nights while doing various tours. 
The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and very helpful. Hiring mopeds was easy, no hassle like we would have got in the town about deposits etc. 
The food was lovely! 
The room was spacious and the view was AMAZING. Would highly recommend Sunset hill

Sunsets!

Personally I think this was great value. 

The hotel itself is quite run down (you can tell once it was beautiful) and the maintenance is pretty shonky. However, the rooms were clean and the views were STUNNING. 

The views From balcony and rooftop restaurant was beautiful during the day and mesmerising at sunset.

Food in restaurant was a small menu but everything we had was lovely.

Whilst no swimming pool listed on trip advisor amenities, it did have one on the roof, which was nice. 

The hotel is up a steep hill with no footpaths so not convenient for wandering into town  but perfect if you just going on excursions with hotel pick up.  There’s also steep stairs to get into reception then lift from that floor upwards. 

It’s a 5 min drive from airport and hotel will arrange transport for you, just message. The hotel respond quickly to enquiries
 
I think good value for money but not for you if wanting luxury . I’d stay again
