We arrived the resort at 10:00 PM and the reception was nice and warm. They provided excellent service every day including ordered PIZZA HUT. The location of the resort is east to go to Bali zoo, Bali safari, Ubud and Tegallalang etc. We will choice the Samata resort again when we visit Bali next time.

Awesome resort

Friendly and service minded staff. Great team as a family. The restaurant is *****! The breakfast is amazing: fine, detailed and surprising. The swimming pool(s) are little paradises at it selves. We searched serenity and rest. We very sure found it in the Samata. Price/Quality 10/10. Our horizon? The ocean a bit away, the rice fields nearby. In a beautiful garden and domain. A little paradise on earth in Bali.

Just a perfect place!

I have stayed at the Samata a couple of times, this time in a stunning 2 bedroom villa with a view over the rice fields. It's a perfect place to go and relax. Everything you need is there. Great butler service, healthy and tasty food in the restaurant or in your villa, and great spa and wellness options as well. Great place to relax and enjoy.

Great place for relaxation

Turning off a main road the area didn't look well suited to a "retreat", villa complex, but was I in for a surprise. As soon as you come through the gate the property starts to open up and we (+wife and 2 kids) were still discovering new parts of The Samata when we were leaving 4 days later. MASSIVE gym, tennis court, multiple pools and an open grass area where my girls were literally flying kites. The Villas are in Balinese style (grass roofs etc), they could do with a little sprucing up but overall it just added to the charm of the place which took me back to when I visited Bali 20yrs ago. We stayed in Villa 2, private pool, 2 separate bedrooms with ensuite and a large outdoor covered outdoor lounge and kitchen, perfect, we had our own space but could use the rest of the property at will  (I understand that there are smaller individual suite options but we needed something bigger). Lisa (manger) was so friendly and Bagus in the gym couldn't have been more helpful giving me ideas to make the most of the facilities, all of the staff were great. When we wanted to leave the property they were helpful arranging trips to Ubud, Sanur and to the Monkey forrest (thank you Ketut for driving). Weather was a little wet sometimes but a games room and a big lounge meant there was always somewhere for the kids to play. My favourite "bonus" was that the whole front of the property faces a wide expanse of rice fields, everyday there were people out there working the land, it was incredible to wake up and look out over the fields towards the coast, really felt like the Bali I fell in love with many years ago and I was happy I could share it with my family. Amazing holiday, wonderful staff and great value value, 100% we will be back again. 

The Samata - Destination Bali - Fantastic

We stayed at The Samata with a large group for a dear friend’s birthday celebration. Everything was perfect. The Samata is carefully maintained; the rooms are bright and elegant, the pools are aqua clear. I really enjoyed both the ‘healthy’ and ‘Indonesian’ meals on the menu and the regal three-course breakfasts. But what has made the biggest impression during our stay was the helpfulness, and positive and friendly attitude of all the Samata staff. From meal to travel arrangements to suggestions of local attractions-all way taken care of and done with a smile.  I’m definitely looking forward to returning to this corner of serenity again soon !

Perfect stay 

This is kind of hidden paradise villa with good gym,a lot of pools to relax,tennis court,restaurant,fish pool,wedding venue and close to sanur beach and shops,really love it.
room is clean,good breakfast various menu.

and finally we want to say thank you for WAWAN operations manager,he always help us while stay,welcoming at lobby,help our bags,serve food,give complimentary drive to sanur area,explain what to do,he is so incredible person i ever met,he has a good heart and absolutely good for business.also heindrix,octa,and all the samata staffs thank you so much. definitely will come back soon & recommended to every one as this place also has a good view over paddy field & ocean.

Love The Samata & Incredible Wawan

Loved staying here!!! Large rooms and bathrooms. Excellent gym and massages. Three large clean pools to choose from. We did the complimentary yoga class and it was fantastic, I do yoga back home and was very happy to see this available. All meals were excellent and flavoursome. We just wanted some down time and found the perfect spot. 
Well done to all the staff, we will return ASAP.

Relaxing quiet stay, loved it.

We arrived into Denpasar just before midnight, and met our driver in arrivals clearly holding The Samata sign. Roughly a 30 -40 minute drive from the airport we were greeted at the reception and we checked into the retreat, quick and easy and were shown up to our room.
Large bedroom with a desk, chair and huge wardrobe space. A balcony overlooking the 2 swimming pools and the rice fields situated ahead of the retreat. The bathroom was breathtaking, beautiful and so spacious. It included a shower, bathtub, toilet and 2 sink areas- with more than enough space for two occupants.
The food was great although they could have been a lot more generous with their  portions, you have a great selection to order in room, or at the restaurant/ bar. 
The gym included a boxing ring, with all accessories included. Stocked fridge with water and cold flannels, and nothing better than a relaxing spa massage after a gruelling workout session.

Beautiful haven for couples and families for a relaxing out of city experience.

Tranquil, beautiful, like no other!

Came on a visit with the family. Superb location, beautiful pools and an excellent in hotel restaurant with a stand out three course breakfast! Great well equipped gym with helpful and knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.

Excellent Service

We had a superb holiday here in 2 interlinked villas with private pools and a covered outside sitting room. We loved the occasional rain which clears the air and brings out all the birds - you could enjoy a tropical storm, shade or sunbathe etc in complete privacy. Safely ensconced in our four poster mosquito nets we left our villa doors open at night to listen to the bugs chirping.
The rooms also have wonderful bathrooms: huge indoor showers and additional baths and shower outside with a full range of toiletries. Fresh milk for tea, fruit, bottled water and homemade biscuits in the rooms each day which we devoured.
Impressively we also managed to squeeze in 3 hearty meals a day as the food was very good indeed. There are 2 menus: comfort food or more healthy, but no compromise on flavour or texture and a wide range of cuisines are catered to. 
Fortunately there's a gym (inc a/c) which has a boxing ring and classes to help you work up an appetite - Bagus and his colleague were terrific in putting us through our paces and really wonderful stretching. Improbably my husband and our sons have decided to take up yoga! 
The hotel also has 3 different communal pools, one has a lovely tree arching over it; there are proper grass lawns and immaculate tropical gardens including bouganvillea, wild orchids and red passion flowers. The local Japun tree is heavily scented so there was a beautiful fragrant breeze as we looked out over the paddy fields with lots of birds and towards the sea beyond - a very pastoral and peaceful vista.
There's a good spa for massage and treatments (thoroughly sampled) and a tennis court, table tennis, a covered outside exercise area, snooker room, yoga and pilates studios. If you like they'll set up a projector for you to watch a film in the bar in the evening with the cocktail menu to hand.
The staff were really impressive, remembered our preferences and could not have done more to give us a fantastic break. Lisa, the manager has a super team who cooperate well together and create a lovely atmosphere.
We took their advice on a couple of local restaurants, the local street food (fun and tasty), the beach, a bike tour, manicures and pedicures etc. We enjoyed these but the hotel is so good it kept luring us back!
Thank goodness we ignored volcanic activity of earlier weeks as we might have missed this and gone somewhere else which could not have been as nice.
If you get the chance, go, I'd recommend this hotel without hesitation.
