Just a few well decked out rustic cabins with a raffish “Robinson Crusoe” charm. Embedded in a lush , slightly jungly garden and part of the local community, so you feel you’re getting an authentic experience, rather than in a sanitised resort bubble. Ozan is the friendly facilitator who makes you your delicious breakfast and helps you with anything you may need. 
The verandahs are justifiably famous for their salubrious comforts: lounge, hammock, jungle view, where you can while away the hours reading and relaxing. The beds are very comfy and the rooms have thoughtful details, like a torch, tea/coffee/kettle, drinking water and emergency lamps/ torches in case of blackouts. If you do your homework, there are shortcut lanes that will have you at the beach and restaurants in minutes. Try and orientate the geography as soon as you get there. The calls to prayer are part of local life, and you get used to it. I’m any case earplugs are supplied.
I normally baulk at places that are so cheap, because of the ‘you get what you pay for’ platitude. But here , for what you pay, you get a fantastic piece of chilled out rustic Gilli Air accommodation with plenty of heart.

A CHARMING JUNGLE COTTAGE.

Good location, further away from the main mosque. Sandy beach for swimming is 15 min walk.
Bungalow was clean. Breakfast was great (they have several options to choose). Host was friendly and helpful. Very good value for this price.


Nice b

Lovely hostess and beautiful chalet! A great place to relax and the breakfast is delicious!! It's also very close to the beach.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay on Gili Air we can definitely recommend this place!


Great place to stay

We stayed 4 nights. It has a big green garden with four traditional nice bungalows. The room are spacious and everything is very clean.
It's easy to find and near the shore but more private that if it was just in front of. 
It has bycicles for free to move around. The owner is really kind. Your stay will be so confortable that you wont want to leave. 

Your own oasis 

Superb bamboo and wooden bungalow in the midst of beautifully green gardens, teaming with frangipani, hibiscus, palms and much more flora. My hut had its own lounge and hammock, which were lovely to hang out on. There’s only 4 bungalows so is a small bnb which was perfectly contrasted against some of the hulking hotels with walled grounds. No air con, but two fans which were perfectly fine for me. Showering in the ‘outside’ shower (attached to your hut, but open roofed) is amazing- look up to see the trees above. 

Very well located - central enough to the beaches, restaurants and dive centres (everything is walkable in 15mins, or better - bikebale) yet off the beaten track to enjoy relaxing. It’s about 10-15mins walk from the harbour when you arrive. The free bike was excellent and gave me great joy to trundle along the pathways, exploring the island. 

Elaine is a warm, welcoming host, happy to provide local recomendations. She serves delicious breakfasts of fruit salad and yoghurt, plus banana pancakes, cinnamon toast or eggs, and even packed one for me when I had to shoot off for an early dive (7:30am).  

Idyllic stay on Gili Air

My girlfriend and I initially booked for four nights here but extended our stay to a week and still this didn’t seem long enough. 

The cabins were fantastic, especially the veranda area with the sofas and hammocks. Great for relaxing and reading. 

Elaine and Faozan, as well as the other staff, were fantastic hosts and the breakfast was the best we had in our 8 weeks in Asia. A delight to wake up to every morning. 

Can’t recommend enough. The free bikes were great to explore the island and there was never any pressure to buy trips or anything through them, something that is quite prevalent across Indonesia.

Paradise in a nutshell

It was a joy to stay at ananda. The cottages are well thought out and are spaced out perfectly so you you can enjoy peace and privacy. Many similar cottages here are piled on top of one another.

Although it may not feel like it when you get off the boat with your bags ananda is well located. Close to the beach, you can turn left to glorious sunsets and chilled out bars or right to all the bbq restaurants and shops. The first bar you come to when you go to the beach has excellent music on the evening.

As other reviews have stated the breakfast is great and Elaine and the  staff are lovely. If you're lucky you may even see the giant monitor lizard about the grounds! 

Spacious and tranquil 

We had a great stay at Ananda B&B. The owner is really nice and helpful. The bungalows/rooms are big, very clean and very lovely. They have big king beds, a big bathroom and a big veranda with chairs, tables and a hammok. The breakfast is served freshly every morning and very delicious. The garde of the B&B is beautiful too. Everything is close by walking distance and we would even get free bikes with our room, so we also could explore the island by bike. All in all we really enjoyed the stay at Ananda B&B.
