We stayed for three nights in Colour Cottage. We walked everywhere, with two children. The rooms were a little shabby but nothing that bothered us, as we were only in them to sleep. The pool was clean and the breakfast was good. Staff were all friendly. We would stay here again.

Lovely budget bungalows.

Fabulous place just a short walk from the beach. Simple, clean rooms with outdoor bathrooms. A lovely pool with sun and shade. Good breakfast and really friendly staff. As we arrived we were greeted with “welcome home”. This is my second visit and I hope to return soon.

Not the cleanest hotel, but it's super close to the beach which is convinent.

Ac isn't strong, so the room is quite hot and stuffy
The bathroom is outdoor, we encourtered large cockroach and huge spiders.

I really enjoyed my stay here.

The accomodation is simple and I found it to be clean. The manager let us know that we could ask for cleaning at any time but we didn’t need it During our stay. Outside each bungalow is a tap to wash your feet so it is possible to keep the sand out.

Our room had a small fridge and I really appreciated this for cold drinks. The outdoor bathroom was a particular delight to me. Our bed was large with four posters which made the mosquito netting look very glamourous. I didn’t get bitten at all during my stay.

The cottages are surrounded by greenery which provides pleasant shade and a lovely feeling. The mosque is far enough away that the call to morning prayer is a delightful sound. Light sleepers may wish to bring ear plugs for the background hum of the wildlife. 

Staff were very friendly and the manager happy to advise on everything from massages to boat trips. He was also able to book us a transfer to Bali cheaper than we could find ourselves. I highly recommend this place.

Those using a water filter to reduce their use of plastic bottles should note that the tap water is a mix of fresh and saline water. Water bottles can be refilled at Le Bistro restaurant very cheaply.

Relaxed and friendly

Spent 3nts at these cute and cosy cottages on Gili Air - I was directed to them after place I went to was full. Friendly staff member who showed me room which had air con, good size bathroom and room for that matter, bed was wee bit firm but otherwise fine. Nice little verandah to sit out on as well.

Lovely (deep) pool! Breakfast was included in price as well had a selection of a main, some fruit and a hot or cold drink.
Cats everywhere with bob tails - so if you are a cat person you will love this place. You can even donate cat food to them as well.

Location is great - short walk down to beach and some of the yummy restaurants too! Mexican kitchen and next door a great French place that serve delicious crepes! Pachamama's is literally a 5min cycle from cottages and highly recommend this organic cafe! 

Make sure you hire a bike as this is the best way around the island and fastest. Prices start from $35k - $50k a day depends how they size you up! 

Great little spot and would come back again to stay! 

Colour Cottages - Cute, Cosy & Cats 

Great for our teenage kids to have their own villa. Good pool and breakfast. Simple, and clean.  Close to the beach and easy to get around in bikes. Shop just nearby.  No frills but perfect for what we wanted. 

Great economical place to stay 

We stayed for few nights here. The cottages were small, dark and ours was a little unclean. We also had a lot of bugs there so it wasn’t pleasant to sleep there. Also we were there during Ramadan and there were mosques near by that were blasting ”music” through out the night. Also roosters started crowing so early so we had to change place because we couldnt get much sleep for few nights we stayed there.The price was quite cheap and breakfast was ok. Would have been different experience without mosques, roosters and few bugs. 

Sleepless in Gili Air

I feel that this place is overated. Generally everything seems good but during our stay we had lot of little things that we weren’t pleased. The manager was great but other staff members were unprofessional and made me (woman) feel uncomfortable with their questions and looks. We had to change our room on the first night because the first room’s bed was so dirty. Luckily it was possible to change the room and the second one was cleaner but still the room itself was pretty dark and safety didn’t work. I had to also ask for them to clean our room after 3 nights. I don’t know if they do it normally. The breakfast is basic but good, pool is nice and location calm but all in all I think you can find definitely some better accommodation from Gili Air.

I wouldn’t recommend

Colour Cottages are located on the north east side of Gili Air about 200m from the water.
The accommodation was good with a decent pool and staff were friendly. It consists of 10 individual bungalows with a central path. Air conditioning was good and the room included a bar fridge.
We chose to have our breakfast included which quite adequate and included 1. pancakes or egg with toast + 2. Fresh fruit or fruit juice + 3 . Tea or coffee. We enjoyed sitting at a table next to the pool where it was good to interact with other travellers.
We chose to travel about the island by rented bicycle which makes any location within easy reach.

Good location

The accommodation is quite simple, but immaculately clean and breakfast was delicious. Banana pancakes were the best! The pool was very nice and the owners were helpful and welcoming. Overall very good value and I would recommend.
