The four of us (2 adults, a 1 and 3 year old) stayed for 6 days in the family home (originally build for the owner). 2 big rooms with air-con and an outside sitting area, roofed. 

Freddy, the Swedish manager, picked us up from the boat which was very nice. By horse car (fixed price 150k) we arrived at the place which is located in a nice area close to the beach and eating places. Rosy and team were managing the place day to day, which they did nicely and they made sure we enjoyed the delicious breakfast every day.

Gili vibe guaranteed

We loved almost everything about this place.  On previous visits to Gili Air we have always stayed on the beach but being in the middle of the island gives you so many more options.  A beach is less than 5 minutes by bicycle.  The rooms are well finished with great facilities, minibar (same price as regular bar) and lots of sockets.  Some outside power socket options would have been nice too.  It is very kid friendly and our daughter made a lot of new friends here.  The pool area is fantastic and you can jump in from 4-5m up into a 2.5m deep pool.  Food is great and offers a different menu to the usual places you would find - the laksa is fantastic but the chips are some of the best we have ever had.  Twice cooked, hand cut - crunchy outside and fluffy in the middle!  Breakfasts are excellent and they can be served to your room too - would be nice to have the option of some bacon there too please!  The staff are brilliant and want to do everything to make your stay perfect.  What would make this a 5?  Maybe a couple of local dishes on the menu would be nice, especially if you are staying here for a week or two like we did.  A shade or cover over the kiddie pool (which we understand is happening soon).  When we come back to Gili Air we will definitely book Goodtimes again and have no hesitation recommending this place to other travellers.

We booked for 3 days, ended up staying more than 2 weeks

First the good points.....

The room was nice enough with big bed, nice bathroom, water and kettle with tea bags (no coffee).  

The staff we nice and welcoming 

The breakfast was good.  I loved the granola.  Was disappointed to only get coffee or juice.  Had to pay extra to get both. 

The pool was great!   

The bad points....

The place was full of families so lots or screaming kids from 9am.  I could deal with that but screaming mothers too was too much.  The were directly outside of our room from 9am shouting across the pool completely disregarding other guests might like some quiet on vacation, hence why we were in gili air! 

After 2 days being woken up we had to leave and was charged for the extra day.  

If you don’t mind being woken up early and a lot of noise by the pool all day then great.  Otherwise don’t stay here.  I know I won’t 

Nice enough place but so noisy with families 

Would stay here again. Quite luxurious even. The room was beautiful, the pool was big and clean and the breakfast was great. The best thing still was the helpful and nice staff. Location was okay, Kind of middle of the Island so easy to get to every beach. Thank you boys! 

The nicest crew

I walked around Gili Air for an hour looking at places, and I'm so glad I found Goodtimes! The bungalows are adorable and spotlessly clean. Each room has a water jug so you don't have to keep buying polluting plastic bottles. The breakfast options were delicious and healthy (not the generic banana pancakes you get everywhere in SE Asia). The pool is clean -- not always a guarantee with lodging in this region -- and it's deep enough to dive. The location is in the center of the island, so it's about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach. The staff were delightful too, and went out of their ways to help. My only recommendations for improvement would be to include hand soap in the bathrooms, and to standardize the cocktails so they don't vary. All in all, Goodtimes made my stay on Gili Air my favorite yet in Indonesia!

As a friend advised us, we decided to stay at captain good times and it was the best decision ever . The place was amazing, the room hyper cute and super clean. A little welcome mocktail and the staff was taking super good care of us !!!! 

The breakfast was the best surprise ever. I usually don’t wait for those complimentary breakfasts because it’s usually pretty bad but this one !!!!!!! 

THE PANCAKE WAS THE BEST I EVER HAD . Just do it . You can go there with your eyes closed you won’t be disappointed !

BEST PLACE IN ALL THE GILIS

We stayed here for 4 nights last week. The bungalows were impeccable with hot running water, a well priced mini bar & comfortable double bed. The porch area had an hammock,swing & seating area.
The pool was perfect temperature, with a small shallow end & a very deep , deep end- jumping from a height is available!! 
There’s a manned reception until the wee hours.. even accommodating cocktail making! The mango tango was a personal favorite.
Noise level was average for the island, mosque could be heard through closed doors, we stayed in The bungalow nearest the road which had its own level of noise with passing horses & bikes. 

Amazing!!

We stayed in the deluxe bungalow which was very roomy, clean and in a modern style.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They also liked to chat with us.
It is located in a quiet area and by bike you get around the island very easily.
