Don’t ever stay here. It’s extremely overpriced and you’ll get much nicer places for half the price or the price as Lucy’s charges. Read this entire review before you book this place:

I initially booked this place based on the overall decent reviews and the nice pictures online. I was surprised to actually find out that this place is extremely poorly managed, and terrible quality for $70 dollars per night. This is not a hotel, it’s more like a homestay. It’s worth at the very most $35 per night. Definitely not worth $70 USD per night. We paid 3.500.000 IDR for 3 nights when we checked in, which is about $71 USD per day. Keep reading…

We checked in to the superior bungalow room for 3 nights and paid for the entire 3 nights when we checked in. The room was small and shoddy for what I’ve gotten before on Gili Air for the price. The room had a lot of water damage and peeling paint in the corners. I’ve had bigger and much nicer rooms elsewhere on Gili Air for $40 a night. But whatever, I assumed that Lucy’s would be really nice for $70 USD per night. It wasn’t. 

1. There was constant construction of 2 new buildings on the premises bordering the pool. Loud hammers, sawing and banging. Construction guys watching you as you swim in the pool. Not a peaceful, beautiful environment like in the pictures at all. Extremely Noisy. The owner never notified us of the constructionwhen we initially checked in. Finally after 2 days of this, He was dishonest. I asked at 8 am the morning of the 3rd day when the hammering started again, when the construction would end. He told me it would end in an hour. It didn’t. It kept going all through breakfast and after. And he continued to be dishonest, he told me that it would end tomorrow, but tomorrow was when we were checking out. And I know the construction wasn’t going to be over tomorrow anyway by the look of the buildings. 
2. We had to leave the premises the first day of our stay, instead of stay and relax in the pool because of the noisy construction.
3. I’ve lived in Indonesia for 5 years. I’m used to power outages, noise and pollution, things not working, etc. The  second day we were there the electricity on the island went out. Fair enough. The owner of Lucy’s said that he had a generator to keep the kitchen powered. But the air conditioning and internet was out. We again had to leave the premises because it was so hot, we could not stay in our room without air conditioning. We could not even use our room that we paid for. We had to camp out at various  places such as Mowie’s, and Pink Coco, which had big enough generators to power their fans and internet. We were exhausted by the time evening came around and the electricity finally came on for Lucy’s. 
4. No bun gun in the bathroom. And no hot water. Sorry but in South East Asia you need to have bun guns in the toilet. I get not having hot water, even though I’ve been to cheaper places on Gili that had hot water. However I don’t understand why Lucy’s doesn’t invest in bun guns. It seems like they want to do everything on the cheap, but charge premium prices. 
5. We were supposed to be at Lucy’s for 3 nights, but after 2 nights we checked out. I told the owner he should have told us there would be constant loud construction. He said he was sorry but he didn’t offer us a refund for our 3rd unused night. Absolutely terrible management. We could have been return customers and referred our friends and family to Lucy’s. Instead I’ll tell everyone I know to stay away from this place. 
6. We ended up staying at an amazing and beautiful resort for the same price up the road. And we had a much nicer room and with excellent management, great breakfast,  and great service! All for the same price that Lucy’s was charging us. 
7. Do not, I repeat do not ever stay at Lucy’s. The place is very poorly managed, and they are extremely overpriced with shoddy rooms that have seen better days. We had to ask for the bed sheets to be changed the first day we were there because there were hairs on the sheets.
8. The boys that clean the rooms and serve breakfast to the guests at Lucy’s are absolutely wonderful and sweet. I have nothing but good things to say about them. However the owner doesn’t know what he’s doing. For the first time in many years, I had the very uncomfortable feeling of being ripped off and scammed from staying at Lucy’s. I get the sense that the owner thinks he can charge the same higher prices as the nicer, well run resorts around him, but he doesn’t offer the same quality, value, and customer service of the nicer hotels around him. The owner never offered any discount, nor did he refund the last day that we paid for, but did not use when we checked out a day early. Which re-enforces to me that this place is scammy, and poorly managed. Do not stay here.

We stayed at lucy's garden for 3 weeks in April 2023 in one of the family bungalow and we had a great time! The staff is truly going above and beyond to make your stay the most confortable as possible. 
The set up was perfect with our 2 kids ( 3.5 and 9 months old) and the garden + swimming pool was a big hit too. 
We have been travelling in SE asia a fair bit and Lucy's might be one of the best value we found so far. Highly recommended and we are hopping to come back one day.

Great place and great staff, perfect for our family vacation

The staff are warm and welcoming, the bungalow is comfortable and the pool is lovely too. Loved staying here for 3 nights - we had a wonderful time and didn’t want to leave! Would definitely recommend this little spot, we hope to come back soon and stay longer next time.

Lovely, peaceful and laid-back gem

Beautiful rooms, clean clear pool, and right next to the beach. The breakfast was tasty - we have the cheese toasties. The staff are also very attentive (they even helped me glue back together my broken drone). What else could you want? Thanks for having us!

Everything excellent!!

Beautiful little place set just a minute walk from the beach. Breakfast served at your bungalow every morning with fresh fruit and coffee added for no extra charge.
Great little pool for when you’ve had enough of the ocean.
The staff were so layed back but at the same time helpful.
As a large family of 10 we loved this place.

Hidden jem

Great value for money. Secluded and tranquil, the garden is a cool haven. Not luxurious but comfortable and with a unique charm. Staff are excellent; very friendly and attentive. I would stay here again on future trips to Gili Air.

Good Times

So we stayed for 3 nights during feb 2019, the rooms are very dark and basic, the bathroom was a bit smelly and only a thin sheet on the bed (I may be being over fussy but I like a thin duvet on the bed and all other places I have stayed provide this,)
The staff are friendly, the pool is nice to cool off in but not really able to swim in it as there is a huge step half way and the pool becomes shallow. The breakfast is good.
Lucy’s garden is located a 10/15 min walk from the boat drop off so keep that in mind when booking as there are no vehicles on the island only horse and cart (quoted 180,000 to take us) so we walked.
Make sure to stop off at a beach bar and enjoy the sunset in the evening, the sunsets on gili air are amazing!
Overall we enjoyed our stay, however if I visited again I would prefer a more luxurious stay some place else.

Very average

I had a great time visiting Gili Air and staying in Lucy’s garden. Perfect location and great staff. Especially Wan is so warm and welcoming! The rooms are good, air con works great and facilities are perfect. Nice and big pool and great area! Would definitely recommend! 

Great visit and lovely bungalows! 

We stayed here for a few days earlier this month.

We booked online and hadn’t read the small print in the confirmation. On the booking page it doesn’t detail that there are no hot showers or WiFi in the rooms. 

This didn’t turn out to be too much of a problem but we later paid the same for a bungalow closer to the beach which included hot water, a fridge, strong WiFi and a much nicer room. 

The staff at Lucy’s are friendly although they do push for their bike rental. Again you can get cheaper on the street. 

Breakfast is ok, toast and jam is actually strawberry pouring sauce. However breakfast is served either in their small restaurant or on your porch. 

The pool area is nice and peaceful but the rooms are dark as the windows are shaded by the roof. The bathroom was very dark as it was painted black.

Ok stay but better elsewhere 

We moved here for the last 2 days of our stay in Gili Air and loved it! Lovely green garden, nice pool, quiet and only few short minutes walk from the beach. 
Staff was helpful and friendly. 
I can only recommend.
