Stayed for three nights and were the only guests during low season, so this might not apply for busier times. The place is very simple, but if you're mostly after quiet place with aircon, shower and wifi, it works fine. It is very close to the harbor and you get a taste of local life as well. Banana pancakes for breakfast were okay.
Unfortunately they don't look after the place very well: There were plenty of spider webs in the room and the breakfast spot was quite dusty. It seemed to us that the place next door (Meno Turtle) was tidier.
All in all, you get your money's worth.

Basic but ok for the price

Stayed for 1 night, used it as a last moment option. Arrived late, got the last room - the only one without AC. However, friendly staff also helpful and useful advice. Breakfast is simple but this is a good place when on low budget. There are some budget options for local in the area. 
Does not offer massages but just ask and they will find a local person.

Simple place

Me and my mate spent 3 nights at Meno Smile Cottages in a room with fan, no ac. For rather low priced accomodation (~20 €/3 nights/2ppl inc. breakfast) it turned out to be suprisingly good. Cottage had big bedroom with double bed and almost as big bathroom with toilet seat, sink, cold shower and complimentary shampoo and shower gel. Cottage was bit worn but overall clean and in nice condition. Only minus about it was the morning sun that you couldn't keep out even with the drapes so we woke up really early.

Staff was really nice and helpfull. When arriving we got cold towels and complementary dragonfruit juice. Food was suprisingly tasty for the price wich was cheepest we came across the island. We get extra chili or home made delicious sause to add some extra spiciness.

Overall really nice experience and I can highly recommend this hostel to other backpackers!

Nice and affordable

We had an amazing time staying at Meno Smile Cottage! We were supposed to stay 3 nights and we extended for 5 more... The crew gave us all the attention they could every day, the room was perfectly clean and all the other services provided were very good. And to finish, all the team was very friendly and helpfull. We strongly recommend this place.

Perfect stay, room, and staff

Rooms:
There are about 8 separate detached bungalows set in a large garden, each has its own terrace with seating and a clothes airer. 
I started off in one room but the power kept tripping out no matter how many times the fuse was flicked back on.
The toilet flush also stopped working so on the second day I changed room.
The size etc was the same and had no issues with this room.
The condition of the rooms seems to be good but the maintenance needs some attention.
Bathrooms a little dated and no hot water but AC worked well, sheets were very crisp and clean and there was plenty of space to leave bags. 

Location:
I think this is as close to the harbour as you can really get. It’s about 300m down a small side road so very easy to the harbour front and the few restaurants around. It’s a bit of a dark walk but perfectly safe. You can rent bikes from the place next door too. The beach near the harbour is the best for swimming and only 5 mins walk away. 

Staff:
The family live next door, the guy running it was lovely and spoke very good English. When I arrived it wasn’t very clear who to speak with and a few of the women seemed a bit rude but everything was sorted quickly. 



Good stay but some maintenance issues 

The landlord wasn't very friendly, we paid for the hotel in advance and when we arrived we refused to stay, it was dirty, away from the beach and on an unlit street.

Weight

We booked these cottages a while ago with booking.com near the start of the year when we were beginning to book accommodation for our 4 month trip. We booked Noby Gili Cottages well in advance due to August being high season. A few days before departing England to leave for Indonesia, I received a message from the property informing me they were going to more than double the price per night of the room I had already booked and confirmed (from 200,000 idr to 500,000 idr). Therefore, changing the price from £35 to £87, nearly tripling what I agreed to pay. This was a total breach of contract and unfortunately booking.com themselves were less than helpful and I felt forced to book somewhere else as we didn't want to give any of our money to this property. Very unprofessional and left us in a difficult position as there wasn't many alternative options of accommodation and they refused to honour the original agreed price. I made the decision not to stay here and fund this awful business and I suggest you don't either. 
 

Unprofessionally run business. 

We spent a night in the smile cottage and were very satisfied. The air conditioning worked great, the rooms were clean and the location was perfect. The port is about 4 minutes' walk away and there is also the beautiful beach. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast is absolutely delicious:-) I can only recommend further!

It's a very nice host and very clean room.

We stayed there for 4 nights the location is very well located 3 minutes from the beach, breakfast is very nice, the hostess is very useful and the room is spacious here for the positive points. on the other hand the bathroom water flows'orange ', without air conditioning the room is just a furnace, no service in 4 days or toilet paper changing towel or anything else, the hostess is not at all friendly, we wanted to make a laundry machine for a total price of 15 dollars for a small bag forcing to negotiate, the bed is not comfortable briefly I strongly discourage.

It's very convenient.

Breakfast every day is the same, banana pancakes, coffee (sandwich, Indonesian style... uff).We rented our sunglasses/snorkel glasses for every day that we were very cheap.The clean rooms, and the very attentive and friendly staff.No baggage apart from the small variety of breakfast, but fine.
