We moved to Nirwana after we left another horrible hotel on the island. And we were so happy to arrive in a basic but clean and comfy place! Nice beds, nice bathrooms. Really quiet despite being super centrally located. Can definitely recommend.

Clean and spacious, good value for money

Really Good location. Far from the crowds around the pubs but still close to the beach. Small but homely. Staff was very friendly and helpfull booking tickets for boats ect. Our room was light, clean and comfy with a balcony, yet the wood around the windows and in the balcony was little old. Great and freshly made breakfast by the pool. Overall a really good place to stay!

A good and cozy place to stay

It was my second time to stay here with my husband. The first time was still great, as the guest house & villa were counted as a new building. The owner was also very friendly that time to arrange cidomo for us. This time, i didn't see the owner, but i called the number which was written on their website and it was his wife who picked up the phone and I asked her about the cidomo. She was very kind, she tried to send the staff to pick us up. 

We were bit surprised to see the building cuz some parts have gone down, especially the doors. We stayed at the room with garden infront of the reception desk again. We saw the kitchen was like a mess. The door in our room broke down, so there's a gap which allows mosquitoes to come inside. So we asked the staff "Awi" to move us to the next room (luckily it was free), so Awi cleaned up this room for us. Awi is a really kind staff. He took good care of us. Also helped us to bring an umbrella when we were trapped somewhere in a restaurant and suddenly it was raining. He also still managed to prepare our breakfast eventho it was already late from breakfast time. He also helped us to bring one of our big luggage with his bike to the harbor when we left the island. 

Some parts have gone down

This hotel is about 300m behind the town centre. So distance is not an issue, besides you will rent a bicycle anyway. 

The hotel itself was an issue. At the reception counter, there was a 2013 certificate from a hotel-booking website displayed on it - it failed to live up to its name. 

First, the electricity kept on tripping everytime someone used a hair dryer. So the electricity went off about 8 times a day. But the staff was quick to fix it. 

The room on the ground floor was okay with a private balcony covered by a wooden fence. You need a little effort to open the worn out wooden door. 

Aircond was good. Room is spacious. Bed is okay but they provided only two thin pillows. Enter the toilet where the water heater had its water temperature slightly out of control. You must play around with the knob to get the right temperature. 

The tiles in our toilet were broken. And worms came out of them. 

There were two housekeepers cum receptionists cum kitchen staff taking care of the hotel. They’re friendly but to the point of forcing extraneous conversations. 
One of them, out of a sudden, asked me about a sex product while I was waiting for breakfast to be prepared- which I considered rude although he asked me in a playful manner. Since he talked a lot, he made omelette instead of scrambled egg that I asked for. 

And he took almost 40mins to prepare the omelette and tea! 

I think the owner should train the employees about the guideline and remind them about certain limits. 

Near the hotel entrance, a group of guys hung out. It makes you feel like you’re about to enter a mafia den. 

Overall, I think the owner is considering to let go of his or her hotel investment since the quality has gone down the drain since they got the acknowledgement cert in 2013. 

Will I return? NO. Will I suggest this hotel to other people? NO.

I am not a guest of this villa. We stayed in a villa nearby. I had an asthma attack right outside Nirvana Trawangan while having our morning run. I was desperately in need of my inhaler which was in our villa, approx. 4 mins cycle away. In desperation, my friend was asking around if anyone could lend him a bike to rush to our villa to get my inhaler. After several attempts from residents nearby, he went to Nirvana to ask if you could get a bike to rush to our villa. Tupar, a hotel staff, immediately agreed to lend one of the hotel bicycles after hearing his plea. After my friend rushed to get my inhaler, Tupar was empathetic enough to ensure that I am doing ok and volunteered to walk with me slowly. However, I politely declined his good gesture. Without him, I would not know what would happen to me as this was one of the worst asthma attack I ever had. 
Tupar is an asset to your villa.
