Such a quiet lovely place so close to the airport. Nice rooms, very clean, nice swimming pool. Very friendly staff, always ready to help you out. A minus point would be that wherever you want to go from here, you'll encounter a lot of traffic jam, but maybe this is the fact all over Bali??? I don't know.

Very friendly staff

This was my first stop in Bali and I cannot recommend enough, it might be a bit out of the way but if you don't mind a bit of a walk you can make it to the beach no problem.

Staff are amazing and couldn't do enough for you, organised a trip from here to Padang Padang beach and then Ulluwatu to see the temple and dancing.
Also organised our transfer to Canggu, best part is that it is almost deserted so you felt like you had the pool to yourself!

Also the airport pick up is quite cheap too 👍🏻

First stop in Bali

Quiet, with lush landscaping, beautiful pool, good wifi., nicely furnished rooms, and great staff Unfortunately, our shower didn’t work: at night it was (very) hot water only, in the morning the reverse. The food is good, but as someone pointed out, the breakfast is vastly overpriced. It’s ordinary, the kind (eggs, toast, fruit) that’s included everywhere else in bali in the room price. Charging $12 US pp is scandalous. 
We were also disappointed with the activities. The river walk is—toward the end of the wet season when we were there—a dry creek of large rocks and filled with garbage. We found it disgusting. We also did a morning bird walk but neither of the two recommended guides was available and the one we had wasn’t very good. He had trouble spotting t the birds and even more identifying them. Disappointing!
If you want a quiet spot to spend the night, I’d recommend it but don’t expect more. 
A side note:   Against our better judgement we booked through Agoda   I normally don’t use them because of a bad experience but in this case there was no choice. Well, when Garuda changed our flight we has to change our booking. Couldn’t do it. Website didn’t respond, nor did their “customer service “. I had to appeal to Udayana directly but the experience confirmed my resolve never do use Agoda.

A peaceful oasis

Very nice people who did their best to improve our stay (driver, good restaurant and nice swimming pool).
A little surprise though during the check out: the price of one breakfast is equivalent of the third of the price of a room for 2 adults and a child.
Bad ending for a beautiful story.

Very good but beware of the overpriced breakfast

The hotel arranged a pick up from the airport, which was good. The room was clean and quiet, excellent for recovering after a long flight. The staff was friendly and were able to organise local sightseeing trips and massages for us. Breakfast was amazing. The walk from the hotel to nearby places was not easy, but possible. It was lovely to sit on the verander and enjoy the birds and butterflies.

Quiet relaxed stay

Third and last leg of our (self wife and daughter) Indonesia birding trip trip of 10 days was Bali with Udayana as the base. We arrived at Denpasar airport from Pangkalan Bun, Borneo with a transit in Surabaya (after second leg of birding tour in Borneo). Received at airport by Santos (who is an excellent car driver) of  Ecolodges Indonesia.

Udayana lodge is well run and has open to sky shower ! Met up our birding guide for next 3 days Bayu Hendera over dinner. Next day birded Serangan Island in the morning and travelled to Adi Assri resort near Bali Barat National Park. Some time on beach, dip in the swimming pool, eat sleep and early morning birding in Bali Barat National Park.

Bayu knows his Bali birds very well, his persistence showed us some fabulous endemics such as Javan Sparrow, Bali Mynah and many more. Headed in the evening to Bedugul which is in the mountains. Night stay at Handara golf resort which was very convenient for spotting next mornings many mountain area endemic birds. 

All logistics including stay in their own well managed ecolodges, at Adi Assri, at Bedugul, domestic flights, airport transfers and birding guide were well taken care of by Ecolodges Indonesia, These people communicate well in English.  

As a very satisfied user, I happily recommend using Ecolodges Indonesia (sister company is ecosafari Indonesia) for wildlife tours in Indonesia. Their logistics, lodges and warmth of the staff is tops and they take their eco tag seriously. Ecolodges went out of the way to make us comfortable . Cost too is much cheaper than using the western specialized bird tour companies (which mostly use ecosafari and other Indonesian tour companies for all ground logistics.
