Royal Hotel and Villa Bali 

Peaceful oasis set back from the main road. I was greeted by Pander (sorry if I've misspelled) at reception, who was very friendly and sorted out the formalities with great efficiency. Once my room became available around 3pm, he helped me with my luggage and program the in-room safe. Rooms are set up in villa style blocks with an open common area downstairs equipped with kitchenette, fridge, dining, lounge and fan, surrounded by beautiful, lush gardens. One room is located downstairs with two suites upstairs. Whilst my room had no balcony, my window had a lovely garden view. The room was spacious and well presented with a Balinese theme. Amenities are excellent with a well-stocked bar fridge (bintang beers were well priced at 35,000 IDR (approximately $3.50AUD), large, comfortable bed and separate spacious, well appointed bathroom with stand-alone bath tub, rainfall shower and toilet. The hotel offers an on-site restaurant with buffet breakfast, massage rooms and swimming pool with poolside bar. Conveniently located with multiple bars/restaurants in the vicinity. Transport options include taxi cars/motor bikes or, for the more adventurous, you can hire motorcycles. I will most definitely stay at this hotel whenever I next visit Bali.
