I am glad this basko hotel had reopened again. Great space of Room and Complete Amenities, easy access to Mall and served good breakfast. I recon they need to do some exterior renovation and few minor interior touch up to make Excellence improvement

Happy to know Basko hotel had reopened

Poor service. My arrival to the hotel was not greeted by the 2 female receptionist. No smiles from them. No sincereity in their services and I felt humiliated with their arrogant attitude after a long flight.

I booked 2 superior rooms and room 406 aircond was faulty. A maintenance technician came but no difference made. I called up the front office and was told there were no more superior room and left only with standard rooms which has no windows!  My husband went down personally to complain and finally they give a room 453 which has a window but smaller in size. We were fine with it although my initial booking did request for connecting room but it was not fulfilled which I booked more than 3months advance. Wifi connection is poor in both rooms.

Breakfast range was decent. But the fried rice and fish sambal was salty. 

Check out was early at 5.30am but no
 receptionist was present. We were served by a bellboy.

The connecting mall has Matahari supermarket and some food outlets and retailers.

When checking in the place seemed really nice- however the first room we were taken to was someone elses! Their bags were inside and the beds were unmade- The bell boys didn't even realize- second room was super small- third room was a decent enough size but didn't have 3 beds like we'd paid for- the AC also didn't work well- 
The hotel bar doesn't serve beer- breakfast was supposed to open at 6am but lights were still off at 6:10am. Food was placed out what seemed like the night before only to be heated up by candles- AWFUL,

We were shown to our room only to walk in and find someone else was already using it. Luckily, they were out at the time which meant we avoided a potentially very awkward situation. The second room we were given was too small. Finally, they got the room sorted the third time. The room was spacious, but the AC wasn't working that well. There was also a large pin sticking out of the chair which I almost sat on. The hotel feels a bit run down in places. The mall next door has a good supermarket (no alcohol) but restaurant choices are very limited. Breakfast, from a western perspective, was poor. It was late starting and the toaster wasn't working.

Not Great

Stayed in this hotel only for one night and I had a late check out around 11.45 pm but it was very quick and smooth check in process. The staff were very welcome and helpful. The hotel a little bit old fashion but it's clean and comfortable. I was lucky to get affordable price with a nice room that could accommodate three adults in one room with a Nice morning sea view from the room. The breakfast was good but didn't have many varieties of foods. Next to this hotel was the mall that you can easily access for shopping. I would love to stay in this hotel again if I visit padang in the future trip

Strategic location and comfortable hotel

Most probably the best hotel in the area but average. Parking at entrance has very limited spacefor drop off and after a pickup with traffic congestion takes forever to get back onto the main road. 
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Restaurant and bar very good no problems. Several TV's for entertainment and comfortable lounge.
My Room was average size with King Bed. Good size work table with TV and good channel selection. Shower and toilet OK - Bar Fridge did not work and basin drain leaks out onto the floor.Problem was reported.

Short 2 day business visit to Padang.

Excellent. Always smiling staff, available and helpful. The room is very tidy, comfortable bed. Only maybe the bathroom could be improved. The breakfast is very varied, very good and the staff well present. The hotel overlooks directly to a small mall. There is also a bar with orchestra and singer (((se), jazzy ambiance. The Wi-Fi connection is quite weak, but it certainly depends on the location of the room. In short, hotel to be listed in your itinerary.

I highly recommend it.

Since they clamming that they are a 5 stars hotel, their services is terrible. FINA the front office agent is not informative at all. I asked her about Local map, and she answer the question with "Google Maps".

If the owner or GM doesn't find out how to improve and build this hotel and human resources quality, I believe many other complain will come :)

This hotel has a big potential, but just potential. 

Worst 5 stars that i ever stayed.

The worst from the worst

The hotel certainly isn't worth five stars, or it's far from meeting the criteria for one. I'll give you a few pictures to illustrate. When we arrived, for example, we had to wait 90 minutes for the room. A good hour later, the second room was only cleared. Since we moved to several hotels, it's probably a general problem: cleanliness.
