Really nice and clean rooms. The hostel is located just few minutes by feet from the sea. They provide scooter rental and have a small restaurant. Very friendly staff and a small infiniti pool. Mostly booked by surfer guys.

Top Hostel

I’ve began my Bali trips each year at Terrace Amples since 2013 . They pick me up at the airport and take me to the villas . They’re like family now . It’s a very convenient location to start my travels throughout Indonesia. It’s a very laidback,beautiful small resort. You can walk to Padang Padang beach or rent their scooters to go to Uluwatu or Bingin beach surf spots . Everyone is helpful and friendly and I can’t help but refer all family and friends to this place . It’s safe,clean and has a nice infinity pool overlooking a lush valley with monkeys playing for amusement. There is a pool table and restaurant and bar . They have recently added backpacker rooms,which bring in people from all over the world daily. It is a quiet location,off the main road .Great place to meet others and talk story . 
The owners,Made and Lina are very nice people willing to give any advice to guests .


Terrace Amples villas 

My fiancée and I had a very horrible time here and we wouldn't want anyone else to share the same shocking experience.

Private room: multiple holes in the wall with bugs coming out of all of them (couldn't imagine the dorms). Various lizards snuck into the room and peed all over the floor. A/C was broken and faucets didn't work.

Staff: promised us a refund for one night and made us change rooms at 11pm because they couldn't be bothered to clean the room. The next morning no refund given and when speaking to the owner his answer to the problem was for us to leave. Quite an obnoxious individual who was extremely unprofessional! 

Terrible room & terrible Owner  

We stayed around Padang Padang beach for two nights, before heading off to Ubud. Would definitely recommend a stay at Terrace Ampels. We did not use the hostel facilities, but one of the private rooms. These are spacious, clean (bathroom is maybe not one of the cleanest ever seen, but acceptable), light due to the high windows and the beds are comfy. Good Wi-Fi signal. The hotel is situated in a quiet street but on very close walking distance from beautiful beaches, nice restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The grounds of the hotel are atmospheric with the (small, but clean) pool overlooking the forests. Nice bar with beanbags, etc. where guests get together at night to have a last beer. Friendly staff (al-be-it a bit slow, but hey, you're on holidays). Breakfast okay.

Perfect value for money stopover

Despite all of the slating reviews, I decided to stay here on recommendation from a friend. I stayed in the 'delux room' i.e. Not the dorms. The common space is so nice, the pool is small but nice and cleAn, the wifi is good, and although I didn't eat here the restaurant area looked fine. The place itself is a 150m walk from the main road so it's really nice and peaceful. For me, this was a big treat and i found the room really nice. Good bathroom, big bed, to if you wanted to use it..
I can see a couple of cons, there are not always people on reception, probably just due to the size of the place there isn't someone sitting there the whole time but there was always someone around somewhere to ask if I ever needed anything. I'm not sure if people have mistaken the staff being rude for maybe their English not being great because I had no problems but I don't know other people's experiences. Also, I stayed for three nights and my room wasn't cleaned at all, it's ok but the bin wasn't emptied, no loo roll etc. Aside from those little things, i really had a great stay. I would still recommend it!

Highly recommend 

When we first arrived, we were overwhelmed by the pool - it's really a swimming pool with stunning views. The staff were very friendly and kept helping us, for example, to book a taxi to the nearest accommodation. The room was cozy and clean. There is also a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We would definitely book the accommodation again.

Any time again

Do not stay here, there was a serious bed bug infestation, I got bitten everywhere and even on my face. The staff did not believe me and wouldn't give me a refund. The next night new people checked it and saw lots of bed bugs on their bed so we all moved to a new hotel. Really disappointing as the hostel itself is really nice and has high potential.

Bed infestation

We've spent four nights here. The facility is well maintained. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom is nice. The restaurant is okay and the breakfast is even the choice is not very big. But you can ride around here and get something to eat. Every day you can watch a bunch of monkeys pass by here. We really liked that.
