Dago Guesthouse is one of the cheaper places to stay in Pemuteran. The guy running the place is really friendly and the no-frills, no wifi, no breakfast suited our budget perfectly for an ensuite room with AC although the shower was a dribble. Everything in the room is cheap and very well worn but the bed seemed clean enough. Sadly I am a pretty light sleeper and the location right on the main road meant the traffic noise kept me awake most of the night.  Even though we had paid for longer he didn’t hesitate to refund us the remaining nights and wished us luck finding a new place.

Cheap but hard to sleep

My stay there was horrible! The staff stole money from me twice while I was not in the room, in total more than 100USD! The manager was very arrogant and not interested in solving this issue. Beside this the bathroom has not been cleaned for ages, the bins in front of the rooms were not emptied, even the rooms were not occupied. Only cold water available and hardly any water coming out of the shower. No Wifi. Dago Guesthouse Pemuteran is NOT a nice place to stay at all!!!!

Staff was steeling money!

as we arrived we got room nr 6, which had dirt on the bed, obviosly coming from the ceiling (not closed), so we asked to change. we got room nr 5 which had a hole in the ceiling (30x30cm) in the very stinki bathroom. the next morning we got a cocroach and poo probably from the rats living in the roof (you hear them running around in the night) in the bathroom. 100 antz tried to eat and move the cocroach. 
as we told the staff, they smiled at us very friendly but didnt understand the problem. 
the next day we moved to room nr 4, which also had running rats in the roof but at least you hear that they're running on plastic - so no dirt coming down to your room. 
we thought its ok now, but the next morning we're full of bed bugs bites. 
since its high season it was very hard to find another hotel in the same price class, with lots of luck we found one at jubawa across the street. 

there is only one women if the hole staff who understands and speaks english. as we booked ahead through agoda, we payed 6 nights in which we dont stay there. the owner showed up (the first time in a whole week) and didnt understand what bedbugs are, told us no other guests complained before and he stayed one month in roomnr 5 without any problem. nd if course, he would not give us any money back we already paied. 

oh and its very noisy cause the walls are out of paper, as people talk in the next room you think they are next to you. noisy also because its on the mainroad without any wall between the rooms and the street. 

happy to leave.

Staff are great. Clean, moderate price. No noise insulation though so you can hear the people next to you as if they're in your room.. pillows are huge (way too big) and they don't give you a top sheet (you can ask and you'll get a spare fitted sheet to use).
