The ONLY place to dive and snorkel in Bali.  Menjangan Island a diver's paradise. The coral and fish amazing.  Water as clear as glass.  Local dive companies along strip best. Basic but knowledgeable  and know best places to go without expensive frills.  Can snorkel off beach and still see coral and beautiful fish. Few tourists.  Lots of v cheap eateries, spas and great homestays (Pondok Lebih great).  

Pemuteran.  A diving paradise

The bungalows are located far away in a quiet street. You feel like all the hotels & homestays have the longest way to the beach. But the price is very fair. The breakfast was very tasty, the staff was incredibly friendly and the bungalows seemed very clean. But on the first night we discovered white spots on the ceiling and a spider about 6cm tall behind the curtain. Of course, this happens in the wild but phobics should settle for it. While looking into another, unfamiliar bungalow, we finally discovered a small mouse on the floor. FAZIT: There are still three stars, because (1) the staff is very helpful and at the very end everything is very beautiful and (2) you should never be free to hang out with animals anywhere in Indonesia.

I stayed in here for two night. First impression, this homestay is really nice with garden scenery. And staff was welcoming me very warmly, and was helping me to found a local guide for dive in menjangan. First day it was only me in this homestay, but second day some tourists came. All of staff are really nice and friendly, they treat me very well and always talked each other with me.
But the problem is the bathroom, its a nature design. So sometimes, it attracted some insects, and I saw one big cockroach. And the shower was not really good for me. 
But anyway it was not a big deal for me, overall this homestay is really nice.

Nothing really, lovely stay!

Quiet and cozy place

We spent 10 nights at the Pondok Lebih and were very pleased with our choice.  Others had warned us that it was up a dirt track which was difficult to navigate at night.  This was not an issue for us.  There are intermittent street lights although a torch is a benefit.  It is not far off the main road but far enough to be away from the noise of motorbikes and lorries on the very busy road.  The views are lovely looking across the mountains but the beach is only about 10 minutes walk away.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  The room were very clean and comfortable.  I loved my outdoor bathroom.  Breakfast is included and was nice.  There is no real centre to Pemuteran which is strung out along a busy main road.  There is a wood fired pizza oven restaurant at the end of the road from the PL and plenty other choices of places to eat at night.  No sun bed or pool but otherwise very good value and would recommend.

Away from the noisy main road

We just stayed here for one night after coming from Java. It was a really nice place. Beautifull bathroom and loved the bed! 

I booked a snorkeling tour really late the day before. They still could arrange for me to go... friendly staff. 

Except for one guy... I asked for a bottle of water. He brought me a bottle that was allready open. "He just openend it himself he said". Why would you open a bottle yourself? I didn't asked for that. I payed 20k Rp for it so I had to convince him I really wanted the open the bottle myself. Then he chatted with me and tried to hit on me. Then he 'forgot' my bottle. In the end he brought me a new cooled bottle ( first one wasn't cooled at all. I think he just refilled a used bottle). So that was not so nice. Besides nothing to tell about the redt off the staff. Putu was really friendly.

Nice place to stay

I definitely recommend it! The quiet place, off the main road, is beautifully decorated. Tasty breakfasts, there is also the possibility to order food right in the room. The rooms are cozy, everything is fine. The only minus  is not a very successful form of canopy over an open bathtub, but in dry weather you won't notice this, and in the rain it didn't bother me much. The beach is a five-minute walk away and is great for snorkeling or introspection: right on the beach there is a lot of interesting things, and in fifteen meters begins Biorock  artificial rites with many corals and accompanying inhabitants.

It's a nice place.

The Pondok Lebih is a real secret tip for Bali! So cheap and yet comfortable we have slept nowhere else in Bali. The price-performance ratio is just perfect here. The whole facility is perfectly maintained and you feel very welcome. The rooms are large, clean and offer everything you need (night cabinets, safe, chairs, umbrellas, etc.). A highlight are the modern outdoor bathrooms. In the morning there is breakfast overlooking the green mountains of Bali and the beach is about 10 minutes away. Also the room service is great.

Relatively easy to find, extremely nice staff, standard breakfast and nice houses, but only 5 rooms available.

It's a quiet, nice place.

The rooms are lovingly decorated. Simple, but of high quality. The bathroom is outside with a lot of greenery. The first time it is customary, but after the second day you wonder why you can't always have such a bathroom. The beds are of good quality and a roof air conditioning makes the Deluxevariante a good choice.
