We booked this villa 6 months in advance and got a discount for staying 1 month only to find out 3 weeks before our family holiday that the "hosts" double booked this villa with the poor excuse that it had been sold and our booking was not going to be honoured. The real reason being they could get more for short term stays. Be very careful booking though host Christoph or Hugo as they have no morals.

WARNING

Stayed here for the 2nd time, let me start off by saying the villa is adequate but there is lots of little problems that end up just being frustrating and u shouldn't have to deal with that On holidays. 
1. The front door lock, absolutely terrible. We got broken into 1 night and our iPads and spare Villa  keys stolen, upon reporting this to nona and the owner locks were all changed the next day, which has fixed the problem of the bad front door lock., however as we have 2 young kids we didn't really feel too safe and we asked the owner if we could check out early, he proceeded to yell at me and was very rude which is completly innapropiate.
2. The air conditioner in the lounge room keeps turning off, we were told if it happens to go out the back and flick the switch back on, well this happened about 20 times in 1 night. My husband and I should not be playing around with electrics in the house also considering how dodgy the electrics are in the house and everywhere in bali. A tradesman was sent out twice, and have said they have fixed the problem but still not done .
3. The hot water system is not working properly. 

All the little things add up and cause frustration on holiday, which is not needed. The outside area of the villa is lovely, and there is actually nothing wrong with the villa apart from the little things that have gone wrong, would we stay again? Unsure... location wise it is awesome, but it needs some major touch ups and work done to it. 
Nona the maid is fantastic, and thank goodness we could deal with her for any issues.


2nd visit, average stay

My wife, son,his partner and I stayed at the Villa Bunga Kecil from 29Dec16 to 14Jan17.  Overall all I can say is that the villa is Adequate.  The villa is tired and needs some work.

If I were staying in this villa for A$100-$150 per night, I would not complain at all, however at USD $3000 (Currently $A253 per night) for the 16 day stay I am not overly impressed.

There is no 1 thing that in itself is bad, but the aggregation of things is a problem for the price paid.

I sent an email to Christope prior to arriving stating we would arrive at the villa at 7.30pm.  I promptly received an email back with phone numbers and contact names and a statement 
"Yes all is fine,   Ok so the staff will be awaiting you at 7.30 pm evening time"

We were waiting in the dark gang until 8.15pm before Nona turned up.  She had scooter problems.  I understand stuff happens so its not a big deal in the scheme of things.

The door into the villa has been jimmied open at some stage and the locking plate is mangled.  Does it work - yes.  Is it difficult to lock the door - extremely.

The air-conditioners on the ground floor need re-gassing at the very least, from the looks of them replacing is probably a better option.  In one of the rooms there was a very bad electrical smell coming from the A/C so we did not use it.    Also the door to this room could not be opened from the inside.  On mentioning these issues to Nona she organised tradesmen to come and fix the issues.  This was done promptly.  However the A/C still smelt like burning electric's so Nona the maid, placed a lemon scented air freshner in front of the A/C to cover the smell.  We did not feel safe with this so we chose to not use the A/C in that room.  

On about the 3rd day we wanted to cook and the oven was not working.  No big deal, Bali is cheap to eat out.  However on the next day we came home to a very strong smell of gas.  We located the gas bottles and disconnected them.  Next morning we told Nona who again promptly organised a tradesman to come and fix the problem.  Rats had eaten through the gas line.  Again I understand stuff happens, and it was fixed promptly.

The hot water system pulses hot and cold water.  It is hot for about 12 seconds and then cold for about 3 seconds.  Again not a big deal, but as you can see things are starting to add up.

Another day the A/C in the main living area stopped working.  We contacted Nona and again she sent someone right over to look at the problem.  It turns out that that particular A/C is powered from the neighbouring villa, which had run out of power credits.   On the last night of our stay this again ran out of power at about 7pm, so no A/C in the main living area for that night.

Not all of the lights in the place work, just need 5 light bulbs replaced and all would be good. 

The stairs are not child friendly either as there are no railings on them.  We had our grand children come over for a day and we felt uneasy whenever they went up and down the stairs.  My son's partner actually fell down the stairs at the bottom where they curve around.  Not the villas fault really, but just saying. 

The bathroom downstairs needs work also.  The tap handle to the shower fell off, as there is no retaining screw to hold it on.  Also the soap holder only has one screw in it so it moves around.  Again in themselves not a real problem, but when spending this kind of money you expect more. 

On a positive note, the outside area and pool are absolutely fantastic.  The pool is clean and well maintained.  The outside cabana area has a couple of day beds, and a fan.  The yard area is nice.

Nona was great, she spoke good english, attended to all problems that arose with a smile and promptness.  She is a great asset to the villa.

The villa is well located, close to restaurants and other amenities.  600m to the beach.  

Would I stay here again, or recommend to my friends, short answer NO. I would consider it if they spent some money on it and did a freshen up of the place.

Nice'ish ......... but

2 couples and 2 singles stayed together in this villa. 5 of us had never been to Bali and 1 was a seasoned Bali girl but not Seminyak. We were already planning our next trip before we left and loved the whole trip. 
Positives - 
Excellent location. Close to everything you could possibly need. 
The villa itself is exactly as pictured. Beds are very comfortable and the aircon works wonders. The privacy is excellent. The kitchen and all the bits and bobs are great. 
The upstairs bathroom is good. The downstairs one probably needs a bit of a renovation. The bath is just a bit run down. The outside showers were great. 
The pool is amazing and clean and large. 
The only negative we have for this property was the wifi is terrible. Very intermittent. But given the close proximity to cafes and eateries it's easy to get into wifi within a minutes walk. 
Recommend for brekky - warung ladhu. Fresh, cheap and great coffee. 
Recommend for spa - Carla spa (when you get to the end of the alley you are located on, turn right. It's nicer than the one to the left). Pedicure, lashes and facials are highly recommended. 
Recommend for dinner - miura. On the way to the beach. Great entertainment and food. Good prices too. 
We would stay at this villa again and I would recommend it to anyone. 
The maid nanu was amazing. She was friendly and helpful and cleaned up after us in a respectful and non intrusive way. She offered to do our washing which was so lovely of her. We loved this villa. We booked this villa through airbnb and the host was easy to deal with. Highly recommend. 

Amazing Location. 

We are currently staying here with our family, the location is perfect at the end of a small gang just near spa Bali on jln camplung tanduk. Beach is an 8 minute walk. Nona the house keeper keeps the place looking spotless and is non intrusive. We will definitely be back.
