We were the only guests during our March stay. We felt like royalty, the reception from the staff was truly amazing, right from the tour of the hotel to the food consultation with chef and the wonderful food service we subsequently received. Our accommodation was truly wonderful, we had so many rooms that we had difficulties deciding where our  areas started and ended, no one cared it was perfect.

The location is great if you enjoy watching the countryside from your huge balcony have dinner. We were even given and horse drawn carriage tour of the area and it's agricultural delights to further enhance our enjoyment.

We had a minor issue with wine supplies but their recovery was so amazing, instead of being a negative, it became one of the talking points of our holiday and could be a lesson to many such establishments.

We'd love to go back!

Amazing!

This house belongs to a sultan, it consists of 4 unusual rooms, full of quality furniture, many small salons, large garden, beautiful porcelain. The site is charming. Afterwards, for dinner, it's quite average. We go there for the setting, to spend an evening in another era.

It's a wonderful place where we dined on a group tour of Asia. The traditional Javanese home is lavish and visited.

What a refinement!

This place is one of the most exclusive I've ever been to.It's a real royal palace, with only four absolutely luxurious rooms that will make you feel like a king!Spectacular garden, dreamlike sunsets, 24-hour-available butler, very colonial, it's like time travel.

A palace, a stately home.

The location of this venue is a true gem: a former villa of an Indonesian Sultan transformed in a wonderful boutique hotel: the suites and the common spaces are comfortable and wonderfully decorated in Indonesian style and the gardens are really nice and peaceful. 

Service is really really attentive and personalized... the manager of the hotel was delicious with us and, even if we staied for one night, he really tried to make our stay the best for us calling often the driver that was making us visiting the city.

In fact, I would suggest to organize your daily trips in Yogyakarta (Prambanan, Borombodur, town markets) with the help of the management of this venue.

Strongly suggested for honeymoon.

Home away from home

It was a last minute decision for a long week-end get away, and Rumah Sleman was our last resort.  It came out as a big winner.  The management was promoting a 50% off the official room rate, which still included a scrumptous breakfast.

From the reservation until the pick up at the train station, it was all well informed on what to expect.  The early morning reception was done so discreetly with a freshly made coffee and putting our luggages in our room.

Rumah Sleman is a private house with 4 suite-bedroom, of which we stayed in Prambanan room.  We loved the room because the bed is facing directly to the window overlook the village and padi field surrounded the house.  The bathroom is also grand with the same large window facing the back terrace.  

The ambience is magical throughout the day, quiet and tranquil.  There is no TV in the bedroom, which we are very delightful.  Overall, we love Rumah Sleman and we would love to comeback to its serene location and pristine guest service.
