We stayed for one night during a business trip.
Pickup from the hotel went perfect, once arrived we started to feel the meaning of Javanese hospitality. Our cottage was amazing, simple, but clean and surrounded by beautiful nature and offering a great view. Freshly brewed coffee, local fruits, amazing home-cooked dinner, extra requests, whatever you name was given and arranged with a smile. Spent the evening on the terrace with great talks and many laughs, and started our morning with a power breakfast. Fruits for the way and a free ride to our meeting in the morning made a nice end to an awesome stay. Was a shame that we only had one night! Will definitely come back! If you're a musician, add two more days right away for jams in the studio nearby.

Amazing place! Highly recommended

This place becomes an attractive option for a guest house with local atmosphere and location relatively close to the city.

There are only five cottages, and there is no lobby, front desk, bell boy, waiter serving you :)  All will be served personally by the owner who lived here and we will feel a personal experience of Yogyakarta hospitality.

We stayed in Romantic Room that directly adjacent to the owner house, which is only separated by a wide connecting door. I am little bit worry that the activity in the room could be heard by someone in the house because sometime I could also hear tha activity in the house...

The pool is quite well maintained with a great view to Boyong river. We could go down to the river to play in the wide area there.

Tip: bring mosquito lotion :)

'Real riverside' guest house

We arrived here in the morning before check in time, the owner greeted us warmly and let us wait in the open air restaurant while our room was being prepared. She served snack and hot drinks. The air was a bit cold with occasional rain. The view was great, small river (well actually it was more like a tiny stream) and green hills beyond. Interior was very Javanese with many living chairs to just sit, relax, and enjoy the view.

Family room is a bit old. We moved to the romantic cottage, more modern and enough light. If you get bored, you can walk around the village or down to the river, or just borrow chessboard from the owner ;)

the right place to enjoy nature

It was only a short visit, but long enough to realize that:

- The guest house (or actually houses) looks very good and well maintained;
- The infinity pool is fantastic and the view from it is breath taking (you look over a green valley with a river at the bottom);
- The food is good and served in a nice open-air dining room;
- The owners are lovely, welcoming people, eager to help. 

The guest house is locaties a bit far from down-town Jogja, but if you're looping for a place to relax, this is just perfect!


Beautiful guest house with a stunning view

We don't quite book this hotel properly, but just showed up after calling the lady owner, Dessy. First we were taken aback by the remote location (which involve struggling to steer in narrow village-road. But upon arrival, we were greeted by the owners, and 3 shitsu (not not quite) dogs, and our kids are falling in love with this place in an instance.

Our cottage is in the back, down appeoaching the river. And it's not a big river with a rushing current that will put your small kids in danger, it's instead, wide river with trickling water. It is right on Mount Merapi's heels and in the morning, we can see Mount Merapi from afar.

With no AirCond, the design of this Javanese cottage allows the room to breathe, but it gets a bit hot at noon. Our big rooms are so big that we can put several more extra bed if we wish ;)... It has bath tub and hot water, and it uses antiques woods (gebyok) with lots of reliefs.

Breakfast was served in the joglo in front of the main house (the owner's house) and we just realize that they have treehouse (which my daugter very fond of), swings, and various plants and trees.

Too bad that we only stay for 1 night. During school holiday, we could requested the owner's children to send us to village-trips, trying salak pondoh (snakeskin fruit) which is the local fruit in Yogyakarta.

If we want to experience the Malioboro and lesehan's atmosphere, we just drive straight to south 12 km away, and we arrive right in Malioboro. This place also near Borobudur, since it has shortcut to Yogyakarta/JawaTengah border right before Sleman.

It only has 4 rooms (cottages): small, medium, big, and honeymoon. So make sure you book ahead to get the room of your choice. But staying here, spending morning playing in the river and treehouse, running around doing nothing but watching village people gathering sands and stones, are such a unique and tranquilizing activity to do in a lazy holiday. And a swimming pool is under construction as we stay there.

Experience Yogyakarta-way of living... thanking God with every breath we take...
