I stayed at this hotel for its location to the international ferry terminal. I should have stayed else where. I was really shocked at the poor and I mean poor quality of linen I was sleeping on. Marked and thread bear sheets, that should have been used as tags years ago. The blankets were marked and stained also. 

It feel like I checked into a rent me by the hour hotel, if you get my drift!!! 

The included breakfast was average, coffee was its saving grace. Brewed endless coffee, just my style. 

The constant requests from the night staff “ do you want a girl Dir” we can arrange one to visit your room!!! Wow!! 
Then when you step outside the hotel there are s lot more outside offering you the same service..

Near ferry terminal so I book this hotel..walk about10 minutes if u are 1st time there as u need to find it. 

Not 3.5 star standard,  2 star rating should fits...bed blanket smells, towel looks old, aircon not stable-gets stuffy in middle of night..

Breakfast very simple.

Staff are pretty helpful n pleasant except they did not inform there is a rupiah 40k charge per person if they confirm our return boarding pass for ferry.

Surrounding has nothing interesting to see or eat for me a tourist.  Very sure I will not visit Tanjung pinang again.



Nothing great

It is definitely a good location for this Hotel. This year, we stay on 16 Mar. Comparing back since 2014 when i last wrote about this place, these was what happened. 

We stay at the 5th level. The water output was little and the room was not cold. There isn't any hot water flash or boiler. Not even coffee or tea bags.

The towel condition was terrible. For a moment, i was wondering why place the floor mat on the towel rack. Maybe that's the reason why the price was lowered to Rupiah 340000

Yes, only the the WIFI is great at the lobby but we cant be sitting down there through out.

Finally, after our fishing trip, we diverted our route and choose to stay in M_ _ _ n Hotel instead. It is a bit more expensive but at least, that little more charges will not make us; the disappointed ones.

Furia - Changes After 2 Years

I used to stay at Furia, because they were a non-nonsense hotel for a no-nonsense price. However, this year, they've started sliding downhill fast and I have decided to no longer stay there.

Recently, we got a room without any light, asked for a room change, but whilst opening the door to the next room, the key snapped off, so we had to ask for a room change again. The next room, our third, we spotted cockroaches, so we asked for another room. This forth room was finally ok enough for us to stay.

But, as I said, we've since decided to stay elsewhere, particularly, since the hot water showers that Furia claim the rooms have, also no longer seem to work now. In fact, the whole shower arrangement is just a tired old shower head that no longer fits into the holder, which, more often that not, is either cracked or completely broken off. And now it's just cold water too.

Meanwhile, the Furia beds are saggy and whilst their aircon remotes says "16 degrees", it looks like they've been doctored, because the room never really gets cool.

Yes, they've been refurbishing the hotel, but the rooms we've been staying lately are as tired as ever.

One thing Furia does have going for it is the Wifi. It's decent speed, though only in the lobby, which by the way tends to be smelly and hazy from people smoking all the time. 

As a side-note, if you need Wifi, just get a "Pulsa" sim card. They're real cheap and the speed and data quotas are generous. With this, you're no longer dependent on hotel wifi and you can get your internet everywhere.

All in all, Furia is no longer our go-to hotel. It's close to the ferry terminal sure, but then, so are other hotels.

Slipping fast

Hotel Furia is located very near to the ferry habour and about 5mins walk away. It would be good if you can get a local friend for the walk in registration as local only need to pay Rupiah241,000 (about S$25/- and depending on exchange rate). The room have the basic needs eg towel, during water.  Supprising the the amount include breakfast for 2.  What else can you expect for the amount.
