Our stay at Taman Simalem was one we will never forget. We were fortunate to have the time to experience staying in both of their accommodations (waterfall & lake toba) and both were exceptional experiences. From the organic fresh food they offer in their buffet style meals, to comfortable rooms, to their prime location, this experience is not to be missed. On top of all of this, their staff was lovely, attentive, and eager to offer the many activities you can engage in on their sprawling property.

The stunning location of  Taman Sinalem Resort with it’s breathtaking views have been well documented in many reviews  
What really stood out for me was the exceptional and personalised care by the staff, in particular, Ms. Meda, when my wife fell ill.  Late into the night, she not only accompanied us to the nearest clinic but remained steadfastly by our side until the early hours, ensuring my wife received the necessary care. Her proactive approach extended far beyond mere duty. From arranging special meals to continuously checking on her well-being, it was a heartfelt display of genuine concern that touched us deeply. 
A special mention to Mr. Kaban, who checked in on us regularly and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay.

Outstanding service, Amazing views

Service is good - slow but friendly. Hotel seems to have been neglected - or there were renovation works that started but not completed, outdoor sports area and amphitheater is run down and not maintained. Lots of potential but sadly badly maintained.

Potentially fantastic hotel but very poorly maintained

A resort that's also bound and close with nature, the air is refreshing, friendly and helpful staffs. For me it was a complete and can be consider as my Best family trip ever. There are a lot of activities and also places to visit in this resort as well.

N. Sumatra Family Trip

Wonderful location, great view.
Helpful and accomodating staff, especially Peni. Other nice people are, for instance, Diva, Uliata, Mr Wanri. Great jungle tour with Albi. Superb Yoga with amazing Kelly.

It is a pity that the level of English is so extremely poor that there are many misunderstandings. Also, many things are organised inefficiently. The reason for both may be that the pay is outragiously low, even below standard, just 120 Euro a month.

Wonderful with some reservations

We had a great experience staying at Tongging Rooms for 3 days 2 nights with our old age parents. We especially appreciate the professional arrangement by Citra and Fitria who always make sure we are safe and enjoy the trip in Medan and Lake Toba.  Also, Kaban is a great jungle guide who share his passion for nature and we take away some jungle survival knowledge throughout the journey.

Extraordinary experience.

Taman Simalem Resort is one of the best destinations to unwind and to enjoy the right balance of retaining creature comforts and getting up close and personal with nature.

Every moment of my 5D4N @Taman Simalem Resort was certainly worth the long journey from Medan airport to the Resort.

From waking up to a magnificent view of Lake Toba from the beautiful hotel room every morning to the lovely weather, hospitable staff and delicious meals, I couldn’t ask for more.

Special mention to Kaban the very knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour, Citra and Nida the front desk staff who saw to all our needs and never fail to check in on us daily.

A Perfect Holiday @Taman Simalem Resort!

Beautiful location with a great view, lots of activities and very friendly local staff. Penny took good care of us during our stay. We also tried the free coffee tasting and the massage service which was very nice plus the dinner at the restaurant with a view over the lake

Lovely lake views

It is great. The view is amazing. Luckily, the weather is nice so we can enjoy sunrise. The breakfast has great of option and the taste is very good. Overall, the expereience staying here is the best to go if you visit medan.

Staffs were all very friendly and helpful. Great place to explore and  relax. Many thanks to Bernard and Kaban for making our stay memorable. 
One can go up one tree hill, trek to twin waterfalls, witness awesome sunrise, coffee and tea tasting, visit Eco farming, free Yoga class etc.. etcc
