Santai I had opportunity to stay with my family friends' stayed for 1 day but I feel I may have stayed for longer period.Staff is so lovely u will melt on it..the pool is beautiful.if u are 3 families for 3 bed room pool villa ..its has own kitchenette so u can prepare on ur own..Food Breakfast is awesome with varieties..If u want to Relax ur mInd soul u should visit Santai...

Santai Excellent for Family & Couples..

Sad to leave , Myself & Friends we’re luck to have 7 nights in a 2 bedroom Villa 
Great location not far from Seminyak with the free shuttle drop off & pick up each day 
Very relaxing, the staff were amazing from the front desk to the kitchen 
Very day was a pleasure, would definitely recommend 

Amazing Holiday

Lovely place, peaceful surroundings and lovely staff. 
You wake up to beautiful sounds of birds and the river running by, if lucky the waterfall across can also be heard.

These pictures are dated as it looks different now. You however have to be comfortable with bugs, insects and lizards, (small ones) There was no public transport but owner provides transport from airport and you can make arrangements with Taxi to pick you up daily for a very reasonable price to wherever you want. They will stay with you all day.
Meals can be cooked for you there too but I didnt enjoy them.

Beautiful place and sorroundings

The Villa Santai is located at about 15 min from ubud center which makes it quite convenient for those who want a bit a countryside with the option of being able to dinner in the downtown. I really appreciated the view from the main area. You can play with your friends and relax by the pool. The pool is a bit small but still you can swim back and forth and profit from the astonishing view of the jungle in front of view. Despite the many good points I found the villa a bit old and need to be refreshed. When you stay for several days you start noticing all the bad things about the villa. The villa is definitely not a 4 star on the asian standards it's rather a 3 stars, I'll let you judge by yourself, have a look at the furniture and the finitions. Though the staff was kind and care taking especially Janur and Wayan the driver.
Globally even though it s rather a 3 stars for me, we spent a great time in this villa and definitely recommend it. 
Nota bene: by the end of our stay we decided to pay our expenses separately which seemed to bother the manager. He left during the billing moment with an unfriendly face which left us with a bitter souvenir. 


A relaxing place in the middle of nowhere

We arrived at Villa Santai, and were shown to our gorgeous villa for our stay.  Stunning bathroom, and enormous bed.  The breakfast is lovely each and every day, and the house staff is wonderful.  The property is showing some wear and tear, however, that is 110% made up for by the wonderful welcome you'll receive from German and Rya.

1 small warning is the villa isn't particularly near the north of the island, so unless you're willing to spend a bit on travel to the north, this isn't the spot for you.  However, if you want to be in a rural area, near to beaches with great surf, and some lovely little cafe's and bars within a scooter ride away, this is the place for you.

Took a while to warm up, but, lovely place

We absolutely loved our time at the villa - so much to do in town nearby, the staff was amazing, the food and service was fantastic, and being up on a hill offered some respite from the super-high temps in town.  The sound of the river rushing at the bottom of the valley made it especially easy to fall asleep every night.  The villa was large enough to hold our group of friends with our children.  The chef was so good we preferred doing every breakfast and dinner right there in the convenience of our own villa - every meal was a 5 star experience.  The views are amazing from the pool, outer resting areas or the bar.  We would definitely return for more.

Amazing location on a hill over a valley

We arrived late in evening due to a delayed flight and were greeted by staff who stayed back to make us a plateful of the most amazing handmade spring rolls, that set the tone for the remainder of the trip. 
Waking up in the morning we were all blown away by the amazing views and how huge the villa was, we then treated to freshly cooked breakfast which was as good as the spring rolls the night before. After a trip into town for the day with our driver Wayan we came back in the afternoon to yes more spring rolls & then had dinner cooked for us at the villa that evening. Restaurant quality food, great salad with the most amazing handmade dressing, satay, calamari & curry. This was followed later in the evening with crepes with Grand Marnier – a nip of this might’ve found its way into our Baileys which is now my new favourite way to end an evening.
It was one of the most relaxed holidays I've had, nothing was too much trouble for our staff & our driver Wayan, he took us out each day and waited for us either at predetermined pick up point or just waited for us outside. If you want to treat yourself & stay at place with the most amazing views in Ubud, eat excellent food (spring rolls) & be waited on by unobtrusive staff then you can’t go past Villa Santai. It’s not the newest place but to us that was better as had a relaxed, home like feel & we feel in love with our rooms, comfortable beds &  the sounds of the nature.  The photos are true to life but don't really convey how magical or how big Villa Santai is, book a stay to enjoy one of the best spots in Ubud.
