Really annoyed with this. Booked Suandi as a friend had recommended it and it looked good....Be WARNED there is suandi 1 and apparently "suandi 2".

 When I arrived they told me suandi 1 is full because someone was sick and extended their stay - I really don't believe this as I read on trip advisor that 2 other people had been told the exact same story on another 2 occassions. Too much to be a coincidence me thinks.

 Suandi 1 looked lovely with little rabbits running around and rooms looked good but they took me to "suandi 2"which is actually called nyoman or something similar. It was disgusting. I didn't sleep all night as the room was damp, foul smelling and bathroom was revolting. I had booked for 2 nights but left the next day after breakfast which was quite good. They really can't keep doing this..advertising one space and giving another when you get there. It wouldn't be as bad if it was the same standard but it's most definitely not. It seems the extended family have a few different properties and try to put you in 2 of those when suandi is full. Book somewhere else. Not worth the risk.

DO.NOT BOOK - MISLEADING

When we arrived Putu (the hostess) told us that she hasn’t seen our reservation (done more than 1 month in advance) and that suandi house was fully booked (!!!). It was 2 am (it was supposed to be 24 h reception but there was no front desk!) and they got us to walk around ubud carrying our luggage to a place supposed to be Suandi House 2. We walked around 2 different home stays with Putu’s husband before we arrived to the place, actually called Nyoman apartments. There was no air conditioning and the place was dirty. We complained about AC and she told us that for that night it was the only place available. The day after we would go to suandi house. We were moved as she said we would be, but to a third place (called suastika lodge). The room had AC but almost no hot water and was not clean neither looked like the hotels.com pictures! At check-out we complained again and she returned our money of the first day (as it was agreed when we accept to sleep at Nyoman). We suggested that she could put more pictures in the offer and we found out that it is even worse! They only have 2 of 5 Suandi rooms with AC!!! The breakfast was terrible and we listened another girl complaining about the same issue: booked suandi and was “forced” to stay in suastika.

We stayed at Suandi House for 9 nights and it was an amazing experience thanks to our lovely hosts, Nyoman and Putu. The guest house was homey and comfortable, near to the central area, but still quiet and peaceful. There were bunnies running around the guest house and it was really relaxing. Putu was an amazing host as she was very accomodating and attentive to our needs. She recommended us places to visit and activities we could do in Ubud.

We all looked forward to the breakfast everyday at Suandi House. It's an authentic guest house as you get to live with such a wonderful local family. Highly recommended! Thank you Nyoman and Putu!

Amazing local experience.

The room we booked is the wooden one, and it's upstairs from the entrance hall (of the room!). This place is a small jewel. Quiet (it's in a small walkway or almost) the garden of the house is very neat, clean, the owners are kind and friendly, the breakfast is good (there are 4 options to choose from) and they rent scooters as well as organize various tours in the region... in short, we highly recommend!!!!

The ideal geographical location: in the heart of Ubud, in a quiet street! The hospitality of Suandi and Nyoman: Suandi and her husband are extremely flexible and helpful, they responded to all my requests with a smile. The cleanliness of the room: At the room level, Suandi does the housekeeping every day, which is rare and very appreciated in Bali! I even returned to stay there during my stay in Bali! Most of all: the beautiful star shower!
