We arrived at this hotel to be followed by a pack of around 15 aggressive monkeys back to our room where the door had a huge gap in the middle and monkeys were trying to get in and sticking their hands into our room. They were all clambering on the window and we had to close the curtains and wait for around 20 mins to feel safe to leave without being attacked. 
The rooms also had damp all over the ceiling, there were holes in the towels, the toilet was not glued to the floor, there was no safe and the door could only be locked by a wooden slat.
The cost is cheap but not worth the stress!

Monkey hellhole

I stayed in this hotel three times because... I love monkeys! But be aware of them because if you don’t pay attention they will steal everything you have in your porch and room, you really have to close your door. Don’t leave breakfast or stuff on the table, never! There is a big and tall tree that comes from the monkey forest and ended on the roof of the hotel, that’s why. Permai is really cheap but not clean at all. Staff seems to not understand english so it’s not easy sometimes. But the garden and the pool are nice in the afternoon if you want some relax. You can also rent motorbike at the ground floor, the price is good and you need it to visit Bali on your own 

If you love monkeys this is your heaven 

DON'T STAY HERE. The first thing I saw when I walked into my room was a huge patch of bright green mould under the air con. I now have a cough and chest pains after staying overnight which I believe must be from the mould being blown through my room by the air con. This mould is also in some corners of the room and under lights etc. 

The water comes out of the tap, shower and toilet BLACK. The bathroom is infested with ants crawling through the ceiling and window. Our sliding doors have an inch wide gap down the middle and along the bottom when locked and the mosquito curtain does not even reach the floor, allowing for mosquitos an bugs and god knows what else to get into our rooms at all times.

There is no drinking water, there is litter all over the garden and in the ponds (which are bright green and filthy I'm surprised the fish are still alive). The wifi blocks almost every website, and the ones that do work are so slow its impossible to use. This was so inconvenient for me as I work online and had a deadline, which I could not meet. I asked if there was any way to fix it and I was just given confused looks by the staff who do not speak English or seem to care about anything, hanging about reception on their phones.

I know the health and safety in Bali is a little more relaxed than the West, but here it is just shocking. The garden is roof top with no fence or wall to stop people falling off and onto the street. Stairs/bridges also have no railings making it easy to slip and fall. Lots of exposed wires/sharp materials in the rooms and outside in the garden. All we could hear all night and early morning was loud revving engines and talking from the staff and other guests.

We decided enough is enough and walked down the road to check into a place called Maple House which is SO much cleaner and the staff were so lovely to us! When we went back to Permai to tell them we are unhappy and are leaving, the receptionist just said okay, checked us out, and charged us 600k! Didn't apologise, didnt ask what was wrong, didnt offer to upgrade us or show any sign of being remotely bothered that we were unhappy! 

Overall disgraceful place I'm very shocked it is still running.

Disgusting

Good things about this place include: lovely pool, nice open view from above street level, lush gardens, Aircon. Otherwise, I wouldn't stay again. Very poor WiFi connection in upstairs bedroom, running water kept cutting off (and sometimes came out black), uncomfortable beds, some mould on ceiling and general lack of cleanliness (dust, dirt on walls, toilet bowl rather grey). No bidet. Staircase railings ready to fall off. Breakfast included was nice and the staff truly were lovely, but otherwise the place seems quite run down even though it does have a rather beautiful garden setting.

Not great, but nice setting

We stayed here for two days and found the room pleasant enough but the bathroom was not great . The whole place had a very run down feel to it with bits of rubbish, crumbling concrete and bits of building everywhere. Dangerous steps in the floor with no barrier around them. The pool also looked a horrible green colour so we decided not to swim in it. 

The room itself had air conditioning and was okay but the mattress was mouldy and the shower took a long time to heat up. 

Free breakfast with the room was small but okay. The hotel location is great, right near shops and restaurants and close to the monkey forest. The good thing about this hotel was the staff who were all friendly and helpful if we needed anything, so thank you. 

Run down and cheap but good location. 

I booked through Agoda for 4 nights. Looked amazing. Got an email day before stay saying they don’t have any rooms available and to cancel my room via Agoda (when I went to do this, it was going to charge me half of the stay price and it was a superior room). I’m really low maintenance but this has been a joke. I assume someone offered more money for the room. Good luck people 

I’d love to say I stayed there and didn’t pay, but I didn’t 

I chose Pande Permai because it was a good location next to the monkey forest. Location can’t be better but room is quite disgusting. Bathroom smells awful. Shower doesn’t work. Ceiling fan doesn’t work. Bed had cigarette burns in the blanket. There’s a very bright light across the way and no curtains so it’s like sleeping in a spotlight. Breakfast is boring and so full of grease. Only stay here is you have no standards and just need cheap and central.

 Cheap, central but not comfortable 

If you want to be able to lock your room, you shouldn't book a stay here. Also incompetent and confused staff + cheeky monkeys stealing your stuff. Doors don't have locks by default so staff will give you a faulty hang lock, well-aware that you'll find out it's broken, bring it back and ask for a new lock. Staff will then fumble with the rest of their locks and none of them will work, then look confused at each other, then at you. You'll then leave for other accommodation, having wasted an hour

The place was beautiful, in such a great location, and it was amazing to see the monkeys. It was a great price and breakfast was nice. The only issue was that our room was very damp, to the extent our sheets were wet which gave me a rash all over my body from sleeping there for two nights, as well as this it made all my clothes smell of damp
