Twin bed. Basement floor. The stairs are pretty high so if you suffer from knee or leg pain, please be aware.
No aircond just fan that is painfully slow on maximum speed. Thankfully the weather cooled down slightly in the evening. No table in the room for you to place things, just an outdoor table for dining. Everyday we see worms crawling on the bathroom walls and many drain flies too. No idea where they came from, worms probably from tiny cracks on the walls or floor. Best bring your own shower cream/shampoo as they don't give any. Towels are old and although bed are clean, the pillow cases were smelly.
They do not clean your room so if you need clean towels or toilet paper, you have to look for them and ask for some.

Best thing about this if there is one, the location. Easy to get to main road and food eateries are literally 3 mins away.

Be ready to adapt.

Nirvana has been highly recommended and not without reason. It is located in the centre of Ubud but is very quiet. It is neat, traditional and well-maintained. The owners and employees very responsive to the needs of the guests. The place is appointed with great taste. The prices are reasonable at the least.  And there are a couple of darling dogs to with. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend it.

Home away from home

My daughter and I took the two hour Batik course, it was excellent. The tutor was brilliant, he was so patient and explained everything. It was a really enjoyable couple of hours. Having no artist talent whatsoever, with his help actually came away with two pieces of Batil art that we were both proud of.

I was glad that I took a chance by clicking on this accommodation when I was looking for places to stay in in Ubud. Did not expect that this home stay was going to be in a really good location! When you come out, cafes, restaurants, massage places, and shops (even Utama Spice store was very near). It's a few minutes away from the Ubud market.

Anyway, I liked it here because it had that genuine Indonesian home architectural style. When you come out of the room, you have your own patio and you'll get to walk along the compound's garden which to me was very nice. The owners or the people who were in charge, were really friendly too. The only thing I think that it lacked was brighter lighting in the room and in the toilet. But overall, I'm glad I was able to stay here. 

Cozy Homestay

I took a bakti course here and it was a great experience. The bakti teacher was very good and polite . I wish I was in ubud longer so I could take more courses. I will definitely come back again and take a 2 or even a 4 day course!

So much fun

This place truly offers the best value for money and the location is unbeatable.  The best places to eat are literally surrounding this homestay and there is a mini mart at the entrance.  In saying this it  is located down a small well lit pathway so remains peaceful despite being in the centre of town.

Still the best

Room was very basic and damp. One night in that room and I'm sure we would have gotten sick. We got the sheets changed and within 2 hours it was soaked again. Staff were very friendly but didn't know how to fix the issue. We had to book another place, disappointed we didn't get a refund.

Damp

We stayed at Nirvana for 3 nights and had a really nice stay. Rai and her husband were so friendly, welcoming and always ready to offer recommendations for enjoying Ubud. The room was comfortable with a fan and our own little garden, and it was so quiet and peaceful you forgot you were in the heart of the city. Breakfast was light fare of toast and eggs, which was modest but hit the spot. 
The one irritation was that the wet room style bathroom never dried, so your feet got wet all the time and the room was hot at times, though we were aware there was just a fan when we booked. Overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely go back to stay at Nirvana!

Quiet Sanctuary in busy Ubud

Located in a garden accessible from the Gotama street. Amazing how quite it is, considering it's in the middle of most crowded Ubud streets.
Owners are nice. Room is ok and clean. Towels are cleaned but don't have a good smell, also the room with air condition didn't have good smell, we indeed preferred the one without that anyway in Ubud it's not necessary.

Good for the money. Good location

We spent 3 nights at Nirvana pension. The place is simple but very well arranged with a lot of authentic character. The owners want to make you feel comfortable but are well out of your way. The place is nicely decorated since the owners are artists and has all necessary amenities (hot water, decent wifi) and, best of all, is located in the heart of Ubud, in a quiet back alley. So you are only a couple of minutes away from a great restaurant or massage place, and yet in a very quiet place where you are woken up by birds singing... they are running batik courses, which we took. An extraordinary experience. The breakfast is a little dull, perhaps but with so many alternatives around, it does not matter.
