Beautiful photos made us want to choose this guesthouse... When we got there, we were disappointed. First they offered us a very dirty room, without shower, with the toilet in a poor condition. Finally we took another room, not yet cleaned. After a long wait, we went into the room, with stained and torn sheets, faulty air conditioning, bathroom and nausea... Nothing to do with the photos presented. Breakfast is also picky. Two poor slices of noodle bread and here it is... It's a disaster.

Please read carefully: run away!

Dirty, broken rooms, the toilets were so dirty we had to change rooms, the sheets were stained with no one knows what... a breakfast made up of a single slice of bread from me or an egg.

Shame on you!

My husband and I stayed five nights at Atik and Coen's, Rumah Eyang Guesthouse and joined them on a Kaleidoscope Tour of Java through Borobudur temple and the surrounding area.  They are wonderfully welcoming hosts as well as engaging and knowledgeable scholars of Javanese cultural history.  The guesthouse is located on a quiet street, just off a lively street.  We enjoyed walking to great eateries in the area serving both vegetarian and non-veg foods, local and international cuisines.  There is a great chocolate shop just a quick stroll away :-)  Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, a/c worked well, there was space to open our suitcases, a hanging rack for our towels, and warm water in our shower.  The internet worked well, and they were able to alter the typical breakfast to work with my gluten-free dietary needs: egg, rice, salad, and fruit, along with drink.  The home is art deco style and creatively adorned.  The outdoor space carries on this theme with comfortable individual sitting areas placed through a garden-like area.  We used Grab to transfer to and from the airport.  
We hope to have an opportunity to visit again and definitely recommend it.

Authentic Java Cultural Experience

We spent ten days in this guest house where we felt at home! A huge thank you to the whole team for this unforgettable stay.

Ten days was too short!

The hostel is centrally located, very close to main street and morning market, Hotels are close by, Vegetarian food is available near the Hostel. Trans Jogya Bus stop is very close by, the rooms are very spacious, morning breakfast is available. The host is a dutch man who is very friendly.

The place is nice, clean, and quite. The staff & the owner are nice, i enjoy my stay here :)
this place also near market & restaurant, so it's easy to find food. This hotel also have tour service in case you need it.

It's a nice place to stay

I'm sorry to give him a star because it's fantastic, but it has to be objective. The room we had was really unacceptable! The non-existent mattress (we practically slept on two wooden axes), very dirty sheets, bathroom without sink (there was only the faucet) and full of cracks from which a myriad of very large red ants came in that infested the whole bathroom! We had to cover the cracks with scotch from an electrician to avoid being invaded!! They saved the place from having 0 stars the kindness of the staff and the air conditioning.

Stayed 5 nights at the end...rooms are not brand new but they are not expensive and above all, the place is quiet...first time without earplugs in Indonesia! Not far from the centre and so close to prawirotaman street. Patio is so great and relaxful. Decoration is nice. We liked also the small rooster that is so peaceful !  
We went also to borobudur tour with Atik and her husband and we had great time. Thanks a lot for the stay!

Very nice and peaceful place

Located in a quiet neighborhood within the Prawirotaman area.
Only within paces away from a small market, convenient stores, cafes, restaurants & travel agencies.
The all-white guesthouse compound and the neutral-colored furnishings make it feel airy and relaxing.
Rooms are basic. The highlight is to hang out on the wide veranda by the leafy front yard.
Curl up with a book in the daybed with a cup of tea or chat away with the friendly hosts.
The open air kitchenette is simply genius! Rumah Eyang is a very special place.

A special place.

We spent one night in this guest house before we ran away: unmade and dirty room, foul smells, a lot of noise... In short, the place could have been good because the house is beautiful and the staff is rather friendly but there is work for the rooms, comfort and cleanliness above all!!!
