The happy budha was very nicely decorated and the hammock was really nice. The street next to happy budha is really nice, there are a lot of good restaurants. 
- There is not always somebody from the staff present and the hostel is next to a mosque. It really bothered us, because every morning we woke up very early. If was really loud!

I didn‘t have a good experience. The guy working there, Ardy, pretends to be a good host, but his intentions aren‘t. He is drunk every night amd tries to hid on all the girls staying there or also in the bars. I didn‘t feel safe. Also the trips I asked for weren‘t organised properly. Stay away!!!

Stay away!!!

If you love cosiness, hippie vibe, unfamiliar people, reggae music and care to stay in a location, where to feel the city (Yogja) pulse- HAPPY BUDHA is the place to be! Great places to shop, eat and chill around, bar street not far away.
If you want to explore without planning too much- staff will do for you. They can offer and book you in any trip, adventure or famous turist object.

Had a lovely stay, super happy with the location

I have stayed in Happy Buddha for almost a week. It is a very cozy place, walking distance to nice restaurants. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I loved my stay here, would definitely recommend and hope to come back!

Cozy hostel

During our 4 day stay all staff become as family members, always helpful. If you are adventurous they have fantastic selection of tours. This hostel is placed in a great location! Very tidy and quirky interior! Loved it! There are nice restaurants around. Vegetarian restaurant “via via” (my personal favourite) is almost next door. if you need some clothes there are some local designer shops with very nice things (clothes, bags, zero waste things and etc.) if you need a massage, there are a selection down the street. For nightlife there is so many places to dance, drink and listen life music! If they are fully booked I highly recommend good karma hostel, Enjoy!

Excellent location and very nice hostel staff (great for tours)

Was staying in a private room for 5 nights and I would for sure recommend Happy Budah to everybody. Staff is caring, very good location in town with nice restaurants and art galleries around. Nice tours organised directly by the staff. If you are in Yogya for sure considet this hostel as a nice place to stay.

Nice place in the center of Yogya

I think this is one of the best places we have stayed on our trip to Indonesia. We had a basic private room with fan. The hostel and rooms are just lovely, so many bright colors. There was one bathroom across our room (we had room 7) that felt like you were in the jungle, lots of bamboo and plants, so nice!
There was also another bathroom, this one has a great shower with even warm water!
The breakfast was really nice (even tho we  had it only once, cus the other days we left too early). 
The only thing that bothered me was that we had a lot of dirty laundry and they would make sure it was going to get to the laundryservice, but when we wanted to pick up the clean laundry the night before we would leave, it wasn't done. The laundry didn't pick up our clothes or something, so that was disappointing.

Nevertheless I loved this place and would definately come back! 



Loved it

Absolutely love my stay with Happy Buddha, the staff were friendly/helpful/approachable.
Gem find! Very helpful with information and places to eat. Comfortable accommodation and tasty breakfast! Facilities are sufficient!

Hostel stay

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the athmosphere is very relaxed. Nice and colorful decoration. 

The place is just off Jalan Prawirotaman, about 50 meters so it feels nice and quiet. There is s mosqe very close and you can hear the prayer calls in the early morning, but we were not really bothered by the sound. 

The rooms are basic but nice. We had booked a fan room, bu since it feelt a bit stuffy we upgraded to an air con room. 

Would definetely stay here again. 

Good location, cute place, exellent breakfast

Lovely little hostel with good and daily changing breakfast. Located very central with many good restaurants and bars around. Very quiet place for being so central in a big city! Booked the tour (without guide) to Borobodur and Prabanang witch worked out pretty well and was a great experience.
Would definitively stay here again! Thanks!
