This review is about booking the hotel for my elderly parents and not actually a review of the hotel itself. SO, I recently booked 4 nights b&b with 4 evening meals for my 80+ parents. I asked for a room on the ground floor, near reception, with a walk-in shower. The folks rang to say the room was exactly right! The staff are very friendly and on their return they said the food was really good so no complaints at all.This is 'my own experience' of BOOKING the hotel by ringing them directly. Thought it was worth posting their 'attention to the detail'.

Don't get me wrong: this B&B is quite right, but the quality/price ratio is questionable. Pat, the owner of the place, is very friendly: in addition to knowing his region on his fingertips, he is an accomplished guitarist. It will be a very good advice to guide you to the places to see absolutely in this part of Ireland. Breakfast was well served and rich, with a little background music which doesn't spoil anything, quite the contrary. Regarding the room, it's right, you sleep well anyway. The places can be noisy, with low soundproofing.

The reception seemed abrupt at first, but Pat, our host, was hiding his game well! Our trip took a completely different turn thanks to his wise advice for the rest of our itinerary. Without him our trip would not have been the same! Our room was clean and comfortable. First successful Irish breakfast served against a very pleasant music background. And thanks for the strawberries!

A good B&B located on the outskirts of Arklow. Rates were ok. The host is a very nice man who serves a good breakfast and does his best to provide you with as much local knowledge to enhance your stay. He allowed us to do some laudry using his machines. We found it near impossible to find a laudromat in Ireland. The walk to Arklow is nice and their is a small shopping centre 10 minutes walk away.

A very good B&b

I stayed here recently for two nights and it had everything I needed.  A very comfy B&B, not grand by any means but clean and  suited to purpose- though room 4 could do with a refresh and a lick of paint. It is also close to one of the local hotels and a shortish walking distance to the town itself.  Breakfast was simple but good- cereals, orange juice, a fry or eggs various ways served with a big pot of tea and  toast. 
 The Arklow Bay Orchard is in a great location for touring both Counties Wicklow and Wexford. 
Free wifi  too!

simple but comfy and value for money

We enjoyed chatting with our host Pat, a local guitar teacher, and well-informed tour guide. The rooms are bright and quirky, with a nice garden area out back for nice weather. Pat made us feel right at home and had water, tea and kettle ready at all hours. He helped us plot a personalized tour through the Wicklow Mountains to accommodate our interests.

A pleasant surprise was the nice walking trail along the Irish Sea, darting in and out of wetlands, and with a good exercise park nearby. More of a workout than just walking!

The Arklow Hotel is a stone's throw away and is reasonably priced with decent food. We never made it in to town because we had everything we needed so close by! 

This is a great base for hiking in Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains.

Comfy, friendly host, hearty breakfast, good nearby walks

Very friendly reception. We were staying in the main house. The room was small, but convenient. The bathroom was also very small and without windows. Breakfast with everything our heart desired. We received another copy of the best seats on our tour, which was very helpful.

A good start to the holiday

We spent one night in the Orchard B&B. We were greeted with a friendly welcome. Our room was in the grounds and was directly adjacent to the breakfast room (window connects room and breakfast room; it cannot be opened). It was quite dark, it didn't smell very pleasant and it was very cold in the room. At first glance it was clean, but if you look a little more closely, it was just superficially cleaned and for example the windows were very, very dirty (spine, leaves grew tree room...), so we couldn't smell it. It's okay for one night...

The B&B wouldn't be bad if it got more care, the room was small and the bathroom wasn't very clean, and the second big spider walking on the floor, we ran off to sleep in the tree 100 meters from there.
