Arrived 9th November, cold day. No one had yhought to get my room. However once heated nice and vosy. Very comfortable warm bed, loads of covers( thank God). 
Really recommend the food and very reasonable given the quality.
Downside' apart from poor welcome. Staff hard to find because indistinguishable. Scruffy fleeces, football television on continuously. Abrupt responses. Hotel decor tired. Big area depending upon weddings etc. However really needs to pull its socks up overall

Nothing to Write home about.

It's a 2.9 hotel trying to hive impression of being 4 star.
Room with a view of distant hills was good.
Food good but the portions are large and we witnessed loads of food being wasted because to much for folks to eat.
Staff need to learn to smile.
We were advised to book table for dinner which we did but on coming down no table was reserved and non were vacant.
Management are obvious by their non visibility.
If in area again would look for alternative hotel.

This struggles to be a 3 star hotel 

We stayed here for a week in mid September as we were visiting the west coast of Ireland.

The staff were all very nice and welcoming. 

The room was super clean and consistently attended to when we were out and about. The bed was very large and comfy. The TV had plenty selection both Irish and BBC/ITV channels etc.

The restaurant and bar area was well kept and breakfast was very good. They have a buffet style for numerous continental items but hot food was ordered. The food was a good standard and plenty of it was provided. We only ate there for tea one night which was okay. The bolognese was slightly salty but nothing to lose my mind about. 

The location of the hotel is quite out the way, took around 10 mins to get in to Westport. I didn’t mind this as it was very quiet in and around the area and the drive isn’t exactly busy either. 

Nice Hotel

We’ve come back for another visit to this lovely hotel… a little secret treasure hidden just outside the town! The room was wonderful with the most amazing view! The staff friendly and approachable with plenty of welcoming smiles.. The food is exceptional and I work in the industry and can be quite critical! Compliments to the Chef for sure! It’s such a lovely place to come for a night and switch off from everything. Definitely recommended. 100% coming back soon 

Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

This hotel is mediocre at best,The rooms are fine.Bad Management overall.Halls smelled disgusting it affected my overall experience.The service was wasn’t great. 
Does the job for a one night stay no more then that of.

Bad Overall Management 

We enjoyed our stay Saturday night, it's a very nice country hotel with quite modern rooms, reasonably priced bar, followed by a sumptuous breakfast the next morning. Only picky points, re: arriving at the hotel, there's no signage indicating speed humps (quite high ones) and they're not painted in reflective/high visibility paint so hit the first one harder than I would have liked. When returning to the hotel in the dark, although the driveway up is very well lit, the car park has no lighting and was extremely dark, phone torches required. The entrance is spoiled somewhat by the vast amount of cigarette butts at the front door, a smoking area away from the entrance would be good. 
We did enjoy our stay though and the staff we met were all very pleasant.

Nice hotel close enough to Westport town 

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights this week. We found all the staff we encountered very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very comfortable and clean.  Our room was spacious as was the adjoining bathroom. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and there was a good selection for breakfast. We also ate in the hotel on both evenings and found the food to be very tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.

3 star Hotel with 4 star staff

We had a 3 night stay at Westport country Lodge with friends last week.
Despite the patchy weather and remote location our stay was very enjoyable.
The unpromising welcome was soon forgotten as the charm of the place took over.
A booking mixup meant that we hovered in reception for about 15 minutes and in the end my wife and I ended up with a family room complete with travel cot and bunk beds.
The highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the food.
We ate in the bar each evening.
Dinners were well cooked and tasty.
The chef knows his job and provisions are well sourced.

If only a lot of other hotels were like this place. Set in the country and looks like it was formerly a big house for the local landlord of an estate. The views are quite something.
Takes some finding as signposting of Eire's minor roads leaves a lot to be desired. Plenty of parking and everywhere about the hotel feels spacious from the surrounding gardens to interior. Very peaceful. Staff very helpful and a good quality restaurant on site. Good value too and everything worked fine.

Some place this, what a find.

Such a lovely hotel. Location was superb,  had a lovely hike up Croke Patrick, and then a nice relaxing evening with some great food and great atmosphere! All the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! Nothing was too much trouble !Will definitely be back on my next trip to the west!!
