Stayed here for 1 night before a golf match at Concra Wood Golf Course. All 4 of us had an excellent meal on the Saturday night. We all agreed the Riverbank was an excellent place to stay and would return later in the summer. The breakfast was far superior to many hotel breakfasts I've had with freshly squeezed orange juice and individually cooked breakfasts with real flavour! Rooms were great with good showers. !Staff were all very helpful. 5 stars all the way

Wonderful place to stay!

I booked this hotel through booking.com in December. Once it came time to stay here they told me that I canceled it in February and that they sold it to someone else, and that there's no available rooms left. I never canceled it, in fact I paid for it in full ahead of time, but since I paid through booking.com they said there's nothing I can do to get my money back. I would not book with them again.

Sold Our Room To Someone Else

Booked a table to get a feel for the River Bank as a possible wedding venue. 

When we arrived after a 45 minute drive a member of staff showed us to a table that was behind a door. I understand with outdoor dining businesses are trying to accommodate everyone. So when I asked a female member of staff had they another free table she turned around & shouted to a member of staff in front of 9 other customers that ‘WE DIDN’T LIKE THE TABLE’ 

We couldn’t believe it & other customers looking at us.
We were so close to leaving but as we had drove up & very hungry proceeded to order. Our food arrived & was lovely. 
The female member of staff then proceeded to asking all the tables around us if there meal was ok & if needed anything else while ignored us.

Stayed here for a week for work was a fantastic friendly atmosphere lovely staff and great food.such great staff all round couldn't do enough for us would strongly recommend and rooms were exceptionally comfortable and warming

Monaghan

Went with visiting family and can only say we had an excellent meal.  There were steaks and a fish dish whilst I had the chicken Parmesan, absolutely delicious. There is a varied menu and specials available too.  Leave room for dessert as they are just divine!   It has a relaxed, casual atmosphere and the service is very good.  Would thoroughly recommend.

Excellent all round .

I couldn't recommend this place enough everything about it is fab!!! We got married here 2 years and it was amazing the staff the food the rooms!! We have bein bk numerous times and it just gets better, we just love this place❤❤❤❤

Fabulous

We stayed one night and ate in the restaurant in the evening. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. Breakfast the following morning was also very good. The room was nice and overlooked the river. Definitely worth a visit.

Fabulous food

We called into the beautiful Riverbank pub / restaurant on Friday last, to break our trip up north & to get much needed nourishment.

Lochlainn & Barbara as well as their staff, couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. We had Sea Bass (cooked to perfection), Scampi & our ravenous boys tucked into gourmet burgers stacked a mile high! Congrats to all at Riverbank. Bril setting for a wedding also!

Outstanding Family Friendly Food

We stayed one night in the riverbank pub and guesthouse. Having a little bit of difficulty in finding the place we eventually arrived to a charming and peaceful location. We were greeted by friendly staff upon check in and shown to our room which  upon entering was tastefully decorated in a traditional fashion. We had dinner in the bar and the food was lovely but the menu was basic and I felt didnt offer a huge amount of choice for vegetarian or other dietary requirements. The wait time inbetween courses was a tad but slow and we found that we had to get staffs attention each time to get them over to order. We were also asked to pay up front for the nights stay and evening meal together which was fine for us but a bit of an odd policy..We had a lovely nights sleep in the quiet location and our breakfast9 next morning was so nice and the owner of the river bank that served us the next morning was so nice and chatty..a lovely lovely guy who makes a perfect hard boiled egg!! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would defiantly consider returning if we were in that part of the country again!!!

Pleasant stay at the riverbank

Had been on a tour to Carrickmacross Lace and ended with early dinner 

Though we were a large group and when we arrived there was a wedding party just finishing up their arrival drinks. They quickly were able to get things cleared up and tables reset

We were sat down quickly and though we were on a set menu we were all very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. There was a choice of four mains and same dessert 
I had the hake which was delicious beautifully cooked and the salad had a lovely zingy fresh dressing
Others at my table had the salmon roast beef which was 2 big slices and turkey and ham.  Lots of extra veg everyone enjoyed their meals. 

The staff were very attentive checking if anyone needed any extra veg, gravy, water etc   
Tables were cleared and dessert served. Again great choice  cheesecake, pavlova or apple crumble followed by freshly brewed coffee and tea. 
For a group our size I can only say well done on the great service and the friendliness of the staff 

It is a beautiful quaint pub and guesthouse. A real jewel in the area

There is also plenty of parking  including able to take a large bus!!
