Peter and Noreen are excellent hosts and made us feel really welcome and 'at home' in their stunning property. Really knowledgeable about Sligo and the local area and gave us lots of helpful suggestions. 
A really spacious room and very comfortable bed. An outstanding breakfast.

Beautiful house and gardens . With Rear parking with ample room for larger cars . The host was very welcoming and recommended a place to eat which we did and food was lovely so thanks for that . Rooms extremely clean and homely . Comfortable bed also . Breakfast was delightful and filled us up until tea time. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, friendly and welcoming. Ideal for your home comforts

We so enjoyed this excellent b&b from the minute we arrived to the minute we left and I’ve got to say it’s one of the best b&b’s we’ve stayed in. The hosts were especially welcoming even though we arrived on a Sunday in the middle of them enjoying a family event. 

The room exceeded our expectations in terms of size, it’s decor and its facilities and the bed was both big and comfortable.

The best bit was breakfast which Peter and Noreen organised so efficiently so that you waited for nothing and got more than you asked for. The breakfast room was a delight, both roomy and tastefully decorated, and overlooking their beautifully cultivated garden. The range and quality of the  food and drinks provided was simply  outstanding and although we ate as much as we could, we still left the table and breakfast room reluctantly each morning.

The B&B is well located and easy to find. Ballymote is a pleasant town and Peter guided us to the best places locally to eat and drink. 

We only had a 2 night stay here but we both came away wishing we had booked longer.

One of the best b&b’s

A very traditional Irish B&B, friendly,welcoming,  helpful  host, excellent breakfast, perfectly clean rooms, quiet location, delightful & interesting village. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay while attending a family wedding at the nearby Juniper Barn.

I decided to make a last minute adjustment on my travel plans, so I reached out to Peter at Millmont B&B in Ballymote, via email, asking him if he possibly had a room the two night that I required.  No one was more excited than I when he said that he could accommodate me!  

We confirmed the dates, and were greeted upon arrival by Peter's wife.  She showed us our room, which was upstairs, at the front of the house, overlooking the beautiful front garden. The room was large with a queen sized bed, and a very large ensuite bathroom that had a corner shower.   

The bed did not have a top sheet, which seems to be an issue as of late with American travelers. (Doesn't bother me in the least).  No wash cloths either. (Another American concern) 
But the towels were fluffy and the room came with shampoo and body wash as well as bottles of water.   The shower was easy to use with plenty of hot water. 

There was a tea service downstairs, in the entrance lobby, and we were told to just help ourselves.  They eliminated the coffee/tea perk upon arrival with all of the changes required lately.   The owners wore masks, but left it completely up to us as to whether or not we chose to wear one.   

We picked the time of our breakfast, and gave the owners an idea of what we would like to have.  There were several options.  The Porridge with cinnamon and cream was delicious!  Breakfast also came with juice and a lovely fruit salad.  There were also several egg options to choose from.  Toast and Brown Soda bread was also included, as well as coffee and or tea.

The breakfast area was quite roomy and at no time were we concerned about being within close distance of other people staying there.  There was hand sanitizer located in several areas of the house for our use, should we choose. 

The owners were delightful, and eager to help us with any information that we might require.  They were a bit distressed that the town did not have an open restaurant on Monday or Tuesday nights (which so happened to be the evenings of our stay.).  But they helped us find suitable venues on both nights, we just had to drive to them, as they were several villages away.

There is parking in the back of the house.  And, the home is situated directly across the street from a walking path that leads to the Ballymote castle grounds.  Couldn't be easier to walk!

I'm not sure if the owners will appreciate this rave revue, as they indicated that they might be seriously considering retiring from B&B hosting, but I would still recommend reaching out if you find yourself looking for a place to stay in this area.  You certainly will not regret it!

Spectacular Gem

We chose to stay at Millhouse after reading the excellent reviews.  We were not disappointed.  The room was large, clean and quiet.  Breakfast was excellent, with many choices to pick from.  Short walk to town for a good dinner at the Coachhouse (as recommended by Peter).  Wonderful place to stay, and would highly recommend!

Excellent place to stay!

We stayed here recently during a tour of Southern Ireland and could not believe the high standard the owners maintain for their guests. The accomodation is excellent, the breakfast is fresh, tasty and of mega proportions. If you are lucky enough to enjoy the hot weather we experienced, the pristine gardens are a joy to relax in with a glass of wine following a day of sightseeing. We could not have had a better experience in a four star hotel and at a fraction of the price. This gorgeous place and the lovely couple who run it are right up there on my list of great places to stay.

What a Gem!

Really enjoyed our stay here with the very hospitable hosts. The room was very large and comfy. Good large full irish breakfast which was better than most. In all I would be happy to stay here again if we are in the Sligo area

Perfect place to stay 

The Millhouse is the perfect option for a short stay in the area. A very beautiful and well maintained property with extremely helpful and charming hosts.  The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the breakfast is perfect to set you up for a long fun say in the outdoors.

Beautiful property and lovely hosts! 

We stayed at this lovely B and B for one night. It is central to the small village of Ballymote. Our room was in the ground floor and was small but well fitted as was the ensuite. Tea and coffee was offered on arrival and the breakfast is wonderful. Fruit and fruit juice followed by home made porridge and then a cooked breakfast. Noreen and Peter gave recommendations and maps for local attractions. House and garden lovely. There is a small patio are to sit out if you wish. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the hallway. There is only one hotel in the town which stops serving food at 8pm so you need to eat promptly.
