First when we arrived the name was changed outside the accommodation to by the sea B&B so it may be confusing for visitors. The stay was excellent. Immaculate accommodation. Extremely clean & bright. ♥

Turf n surf Lodge by the sea B&B

We had a great stay here. Staff we’re friendly and helpful and there’s a very relaxed atmosphere. Everything was very clean and brand new, Location is fantastic, so close to everything. Great spot!!!!

Review

We were disappointed in the level of accommodation provided.

We were lead to believe when booking that tea and coffee were provided in the room but found that it was in a communal kitchen which isn't really appropriate during the threat  of Covid 19.

We were also disappointed in our room because we had 3 small dogs and were put right at the top of the building - not really suitable when the dogs need out during the night.

The room although clean was very basic and didn't even have a wardrobe in it in which to hang our clothes so everything was scattered on the floor.

In summary what is shown on the website is misleading.  This facility is not suitable for couples looking for comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price.  It is fine for younger people who are comfortable with "roughing" it.

At £275 it wasn't cheap for 5 nights and we left after 3 nights because it just didn't suit us and my wife was so worried about the fact that the Covid threat was significant and at no time did we ever see a cleaner in the property.

All in all it was a disappointing  experience and an expensive mistake.

Disappointing experience

We only picked this place due to its price which was our own fault. COVID19 pickup spot for anyone that is interested in catching diseases. Shared facilities with other strangers with no sanitising. Not one cleaner or anyone adhering to social distancing within the place. In addition to this, the facilities are shocking with no hot water and no sockets working which meant phones were uncharged and wifi unavailable with no help from anyone who ran the establishment.We only picked this place due to its price which was our own fault. I would 100% avoid this place which has no regard for any guests welfare in the current pandemic and shocking facilities. PLEASE AVOID!

Avoid at all costs

Self catering takes on a new meaning here. Waiting over 30 minutes for someone to come and let us into the building. No replacement fresh towels, minimal hot water and the wifi was non existent.

Checked in on sat night, 2 adults 2 children.
No hand sanitiser upon entering the property, no sight of any social distancing as lots of surfers etc were using the kitchen and certainly no hygiene spots through the property to keep safe.

It was supposed to be B&B however the cereal sell by date was 2019... dished were piled high in the sink and the bins overflowing with waste.

The bedroom was no better with the make your own bead approach, yes, the pillows and duvet were left piled up for us to make our own beds.
As for the bathroom... there wasn’t even as much as a bar of soap to wash our hands, never mind to take a shower.

The lounge area didn’t sprite to much either with the busted up sofa and the dead flies in the widows.

We had considered Searching for alternative accommodation but as soon as the foot soldier dropped off the keys at the front door and dismissed himself the money was taken from our account.

Covid-19 breeding spot waiting to happen STAY AWAY!!

Not happy..... I stayed the nite with my daughter her granny and her friend. No hand sanitizer  any where.....  covid pickup spot.. untidy dishes left lying in kitchen and filthy doors etc.. never again 😕

Unhappy customers

Great location and overall pleasant stay however the hygiene standards were poor. The bins in the kitchen were overflowing and hadn't been emptied at all during my time there. Dishes and food were left out on counters/table by other guests and there was out of date food in fridge. I think given the recent epidemic, hygiene standards should be a top priority and although guests bare this responsibility as well, I think there should be a member of staff checking on the property daily and cleaning the shared communal areas. Hate leaving bad reviews but I think it's important that your aware.

Good accommodation just what we needed. Close to local amenities and a good communal area with food to use at your leisure. Bedrooms have ensuite different to other hostels. Good stay thanks again....

Turfnsurf

I booked a double room and was really dissapointed. Although the location is amazing, I wouldn't book again. There was mold in the room. It was Noisy at night. In the morning nobody prepared some breakfast. We had to guess where to find everything. I was surprised as the hostel has such good reviews.
