Spa was really good. Great Pool, Thermal Pool, Sauna, Steam Room etc. Only complaint I have is that it is really dark around the pool area.
Also very dark along the corridor to the room only lights are the Number on the door and a recessed light below. Met loads of people with their phone torches trying to get the key card into the door.
Food in Village Bar was lovely, could not fault anything.
However breakfast was lacking. Cold Buffett looked ok but very small selection.
Hot breakfast had hard bacon and hard fried eggs only. Quality of food not great.
Location is fantastic right beside the beach, though I do think its not fair for the general public to be barred with the locked gate. I was told some local residents have keys but there is still a general population not allowed on the beach.

Amazing Spa

Honestly, just ok. The hotel was gorgeously decorated and felt very luxurious. The spa (we just used the facilities) was lovely, we went at night and it was really nice to sit outside in the cold weather in the hot outdoor jacuzzi. 

Unfortunately I didn’t think the service was great. When greeted at reception, the lady who checked us in was rude. She just said “name?” Rather than welcoming us in or saying hello!! No customer service from her..

Then the room was nice, but the tv was scrambled and the channels didn’t work properly.

I rang 4 times to reception and room service and no answer, but when I rang off my mobile they answered straight away…??? So that doesn’t show much priority for your guests! 

Room service food was lovely. A curry and a chocolate tart, so good! Found it weird that they charged you for the room service on delivery in a 4 star but anyway.. 

Breakfast was ok. Mushrooms were boiled which I think is vile 🤮 and there was stuff on the menu which wasn’t being served in the buffet.. in order to have a latte or cappuccino with your breakfast it was €3.50 and there was a €5 supplement for salmon or pancakes.. I honestly don’t mind paying for anything when it’s justified but it was €260 for a basic room on a Friday night so I’d expect that should all be included - which is standard in other 4 star hotels! 

All in all, just okay. But unfortunately I wouldn’t go back as for the price, the customer service element is really lacking.

Not amazing unfortunately!

This hotel is over priced. The customer service is very poor. The staff stop serving you drink if you spend a certain amount of time in the bar (dont have a bar if you don’t want people to spend time there) 
The cocktails are very poor and inconsistent one cocktail was half full of egg whites.
The tv in the room didn’t work and the tap was broke in the toilet.
The hotel is too busy to cope as it is all about money for them. If you are looking for an intimate experience with good customer service don’t go here.
I’ve been here many times but won’t be returning it’s gone downhill. All they want is the money.

Overpriced, overrated

So disappointed with Seafield, we stayed there this weekend and when we arrived there was no WiFi and absolutely no phone coverage anywhere inside the hotel, that's all well and good if you don't have small kids at home and need to be contactable. Was told there was an IT issue....Went to our room on the third floor and it was like there was a tin can blowing around on the ceiling, we did report this and a maintenance guy did come to the room and listened to the noise, left and we never heard another thing. This was fine until it woke us three times throughout the night, I did tell the receptionist the following morning and she didn't seemed bothered, never apologised , nothing, at €310 for just bed and breakfast I think this is just shocking. We had a spa treatment the morning we left and the treatment room was absolutely baltic,asked the therapist to turn up the heated blanket but made no difference, also mentioned this to the receptionist in the spa when she asked how the treatment was as we left, again it was water off a ducks back, she said OK. That was another €75 each....the breakfast was absolutely horrid, raw sausages and cold toast. Not my thing, maybe my expectations were too high but for the prices they charge I honestly think they could do better. I won't be recommending the place nor will we be going back. On a positive note the bar food is really nice, expensive but worth it 👌 Seafield your gone downhill and should be ashamed charging €310 per night and clearly cannot keep up with the demand or pace. Disgusted 😔

Horrendous

Dont waste your money.
Terrible rooms, nothing works. Cant get any spa treatment. The pool was closed. Constantly have to book even to go to the bar. Its like a factory of a hotel. No room service €10 tray service. 
No hot water.
The list goes on. I paid €340 for this i could have gone to the Shelbourne. 
The staff were lovely.

Shocking ! Would not stay here again

Lovely hotel, excellent night sleep, beds exceptional. Breakfast was included and was fantastic with plenty of it.
Staff where lovely and accommodating. Did not get to experience the spa but would definitely return
 

Night away with my mother. Relaxing, comfy and luxurious stay.

I stayed here over the weekend with a friend. Our experience was really good from start to finish. My friend had some issues with her car on the day we were due to travel  down. I rang the hotel at 2pm and queried whether we would be charged if we had to cancel last minute. The friendly lady (Sarah) on reception told me that we would not be charged, which I thought was very decent.

In any case we managed to get there in one piece. We met Sarah again at reception and she upgraded my friend to a suite, given her experience in getting there. We really appreciated that, and it really set the tone for the whole stay. My room was a standard sea view room, which was a lovely big size and had everything you might need. There was no bath in the bathroom, which I might have missed if we didn't have access to the gorgeous thermal suite throughout the stay. The suite was stunning - a separate sitting room, a massive bedroom and two balconies looking over the beautiful countryside. My only small issue was that the rooms were very warm at night and I had to get up and open the window in order to fall back asleep. 

One thing I will say is that you need to book the thermal suite well in advance. We only booked the week before, and managed to get a 6.30-8.30 slot on Sunday evening and an 8am pre-breakfast slot on Monday morning. I was surprised at how busy it was for a Sunday night in February. I suppose the thermal suite is not large, and the hotel is, so it can easily get overcrowded and spoil the whole experience. 

The spa area really is beautiful, and they think of everything. Three steam rooms, calm lighting, a very large outdoor hottub which looks on to tropical gardens while being under cover and shaded from the elements, and heated beds with iced face towels and cucumber. 

We ate in the Village on Sunday night. Portions are generous, and we ended up sharing a starter and a dessert and being fit to burst. I wouldn't bother getting the dinner in with a package - there is more choice on the a la carte menu and it'd be better value to share courses.

Breakfast was very nice (lovely sausages) but it was very busy. We did arrive down at 9.30 though which is like, peak hours. It would be nicer if you could do your own toast and if barista coffees were included in the cost, but that is a small gripe.

We did a long beach walk and honestly the location cannot be faulted. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are going to make it an annual stay.

Excellent Sunday night stay

Preamble - I'd stayed here 3 times (pre-covid / pre-kids!) and always found it to be top class. As such, I was really looking forward to my stay last weekend. Unfortunately, the stay didn't live up to expectations whatsoever. I thought, perhaps, that we just got unlucky but, having read the recent reviews, it seems our issues are common amongst many, which is a worrying sign for the hotel - not caring about fixing known issues. Looking at the 'cut & paste' response to everyone's reviews, it doesn't look like anyone cares too much!

Check-in: the receptionist appeared as though she'd prefer to be having teeth removed than to be checking us in! Welcome to Seafield! 
We then learned that residents need to book the swimming pool. This is *not* on the confirmation letter - despite the girl in the Spa telling me it was "my fault" for not booking a slot. To be fair to her, she apologised to me when I showed her the email which did suggest treatments and meals needed to be booked, but nothing about pool use & she booked us in for a slot. 

The room was fine, if very warm. We made the mistake to leave the bathroom door ajar when in the Spa and we really paid for it! The hotel is suffering from sewerage issues which cause bathroom areas (in bedroom & in Spa) to stink. This smell bled into the bedroom itself and we couldn't get it out (you cant open the balcony door as the balcony is shared amongst all rooms on the floor, so not secure). 

My wife's pregnant, so we weren't here for a party, moreso for a relaxing & restful stay. Unfortunately, we were put into the party wing of the hotel. Not sure if it's done by age or something, but it was banging tunes coming from one neighbour and banging headboards from the other (until 5am!) I didn't expect us to be reading in bed @4am as we couldn't sleep through the noise. In fairness, this isn't necessarily the hotel's fault, but a warning to those looking for a night's sleep - this isn't the place. 

Not all bad, the staff in the restaurant & bar were all very lovely. The beach walk is gorgeous and a must if you do stay. 

All in all, well below average for the price.

Disappointing stay - no intention to return

Stayed in Seafield Hotel recently and was a little bit disappointed with my experience. 
Check-in was pleasant and efficient. I was asked for dinner reservation and my time slot that I booked in the spa area was confirmed. Payment was taken smoothly and everyone was friendly. I also got to check in early at 230pm which was welcomed. 

On the way to the room, it took ages for the lift to come to the ground floor, my wife is pregnant so we couldnt take the stairs. The bedroom corridor was hectic with housekeepers everywhere, i didnt mind because i know they are probably under pressure to get rooms clean for 3pm check-in time. The corridor was very dirty and really needed a hoover which i expected would have been done. However, for the duration of my stay no one hoovered the floor. There was dirt, dust and stains everywhere. 

The room itself was very nice. Only let down was the balcony. We had a lovely little balcony with two chairs overlooking the green area. The balcony was let down by all the plants in the planters being completely dead. They could really do with some TLC. 

The spa area was overcrowded and disorganized. We booked the 430-630 slot which granted was probably the busiest one. There was people everywhere, our towels and robes were taken twice by other guests. The features of the spa are so nice, monsoon shower, thermal spa, sauna etc but the experienced was let down by the hygiene of the pool area and the amount of people booked into the time slot. 

In terms of food; dinner experience was great. Jurgita looked after us in the restaurant and was very helpful. Food was very tasty and portions were generous. Breakfast on the other hand was disappointing. The buffet was limited and very messy. There was no bread / juice station and the amount brought to your table when you ordered was limited. Fried breakfast was very greasy. We had to pay €3.50 extra to get a barista style coffee which i think is a bit cheeky. 

All in all, we were left disappointed after looking forward to a place we heard so many good things about. Could be such a special place with some TLC and other small improvements. 

Didnt live up to expectations. 

Had been here a few times and liked it. Decided to come back again. It’s in a good location and there is access to the beach 🏖️ . The room that we stayed in looked like it had been done up recently. The food 🍱 was good and presented well. Would probably come back again.
