Me and a friend arrived in Dublin with high expectations as we had such lovely comments about this city and the lovely people that catered for them. 

This was far far from the case.

the city itself was everything we expected with so much culture and sights to see.

The hostel was in a good location, that was ALL IT HAD TO OFFER.We were greeted not only by a moody woman at the reception who was cold and didn't want to know us; but also a massive sh*t in the toilet. After we had dumped our stuff we returned a few hiurs later to see it all kicking off in the lobby as one man had taken another man's phone and the same woman at the desk,doing nothing. We quickly went into our room , the plugs were not near the beds but we had heard the palava in the lobby and also about cleaners suspectingly taking guests items, so we slept with our belongings. the cages under the bed are louder than the M5 so everybody wakes up when anyone moves anything. We went on a walking tour and the tour guide asked us where we were staying, we replied " the worst hostel in Dublin" and he automatically knew which one we were in!! We decided to sleep in the airport on oir final night rather than go back to this dump.

THE HOLIDAY FROM HELL!!!!

Staff Friendly, accommodation clean, comfortable, good TV in the room with plenty of tv channels and radio very convenient for public transport Luas,busaras, train station.OShea's pub close by for good food

Short stay ,central location

The hostel is in a great location, has been recently refurbished to a high standard and is a very affordable place to stay right in the heart of Dublin! Stayed here with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, both the staff and the room itself were lovely. Highly recommend to any fellow travellers looking for accommodation in Dublin!

Great Hostel all round

Wifi connection was bad at the 3rd floor, no carpet for the bashroom, the shower is not adjustable too cold and after 1m minute too hot (burning), and the bed are very noisy but you can delay your check-out time to 1pm

Good just to sleep

Awesome staff! Justin and the Italian receptionist are super nice and always happy to help! The rooms are alright, it's literally just for sleep and the bathrooms are alright as well, even though they should do more bathrooms.
But its really well located, super near the center. 

Really Nice

You get what you pay for.
It was clean and did the job. On the plus side it's close to the centre ,clean and good value. It has a cominall area where you can just lounge about.
Down side it's close to the main railway ( but seems to stop about 11pm )
Overall it's a good value cheap hotel close to the city center

Cheap and cheerful

Some of the signage still refers to chelsea house. 
No breakfast. Poor facilities, poorly laid out. 
Sitting room is not bad. Tv channels etc. One 
kettle for entire hostel. unsteady tables. 
close to the main bus station and the main train station.

Chelsea House or Backpackers Citi Hostel ?

I arrived back in Dublin city after a gig in Malahide and had nowhere to stay. I saw this place and asked a foreign guy at reception how much. I thought he'd said 'Fifty' which was a jolt because I'd been led to believe the standard price was €12. Anyway, didn't care, but when I put my card in, he was charging me 15. Phew.
He was friendly. Problem here is that three floors seem to have only 2 unisex toilets and 2 showers? Is this even allowed? 
I have to say that the bedlinen was immaculate and even though the Dart trains run late and early, i sleep anywhere. 
If you want a cheap bed, this is your place. Don't expect luxury though!

Cheap

I actually can't believe this place is allowed to be open. I stayed here last September and I left a review saying that I would give it another change even though I wasn't overly impressed. So I did... And oh my god I will never step foot near this place again and I would beg everyone to avoid at all costs. When we arrived at 5 o'clock we were informed our room would be ready in half an hour, when we questioned why it wasn't ready when check in was at 2 the guy at reception (from reading other reviews I think he's the owner) went absolutely crazy. He was screaming at us to just "get the f**k out" and opening the door demanding we leave and just "sleep on the f**king Street" he was so horrible. I was in shock.

Eventually we calmed the situation down and waited in the outside area for 40 minutes until our room was ready... After seeing the room i wish we have slept on the street. It was absolutely awful. The beds were smelly, dirty and extremely uncomfortable. We had a private room for the 4 of us but it felt like there was 20 people in thr room with all thr noise.

When we arrived back after a night out at around 3am we met a different guy at reception. We walked in and said "room 100' he handed us the keys with no questions asked... He had no idea who we were so could have been absolutely anybody. We continued on to bed. Opened the door, walked in, closed the door and within 30 seconds the guy from reception was banging on out door telling us to "shut the f**k up". We all went asleep only to be woken up at 7am to somebody cutting grass outside the window and the dart going over head. 

Do yourself a favour... Stay well away, this place should be shut down.

Shut this place down!!!!

The staff were absolutely atrocious.  I will never ever stay there again. When we walked in the door the gentleman at reception asked for ID. We politely asked why they needed it and the man started shouting, cursing and abusing us. Telling us to go sleep on the f***ING Street. For fear that we would have nowhere to sleep we tried to calm the man down. He agreed to let us stay then told us the room was not ready. Check in was 2 o clock and we arrived at five. We then had to wait a half hour for the room to be ready. In the room the main light didn't work. The sheets were clean but the mattresses were ancient and falling apart. It smelled bad. The dart was right beside the hostel so we got absolutely no sleep. There was a communal outside  area in which some guest kept revving a motorcycle at 7 in the morning. Staying here was genuinely upsetting. Please don't stay here. For your own sake.
