Great local pub with friendly staff and good Guinness. Lively crowd and does get busy
There is a downstairs for a cosy feel. 
Outside seating if you can grab one. Used by locals as well as holiday visitors. Very handy for the hotel we were staying at as it was a stone throw away.

Good Dublin local pub

This place is no boutique hotel. But it does exactly what it needs to. I would say perfect if you’re with friends or on your own. I wouldn’t recommend for a romantic weekend away. Just a B&B bolt hole. No frills. It’s well located, on the river, so you’ll always be able to find it after a few drinks. Good pub downstairs and friendly staff. Had a nice Irish breakfast both days on the 1st floor looking over the river Liffey. You can’t really complain about this place, otherwise pay double and go to the Hilton.

Just the job

Great shame that the room we had did not live up to the review standard shown or the potential of this qaint Irish pub and hotel. " Boutique" it is not!
The bathroom was a throw back from the 1950's and has not been upgraded or maintained since. Broken loose toilet, plug in sink useless, absolutely nothing in shower to place toiletries, rusty shower frame and tatty decor.
The room was unvented unless we opened a sash window allowing bar and traffic noise so overnight the condensation ran down the window.
We complained about the loose toilet and the maintainance guy arrived with an electrical screwdriver! He failed to fix it!
I've given it 2 stars instead of 1 because the staff are as nice as all the other lovely people in Dublin! A staff member told me that the owners were planning a refurbishment next year - that would be OK if they were charging " unfurbished" rates this year!

Such a shame

Stayed 2 nights on our midweek Dublin trip, warm welcome from land lord and land lady. Room small clean and adequate, breakfast was excellent in the function room. the pub down stairs was always busy and good place to have a night cap after our busy days sightseeing. The hotel is in the Grand canal district and is ideally suited for the theatre, EPIC and Jeanie ship museum, while only a 25 min walk to the Temple bar area and the city. There was Starbucks next door and the hop on hop off bus tours picked up only 50 yards away. The hotel was a very good budget accommodation for a capital city break and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Location location location

We “hopped off” the bus when it started to rain and ran into the pub. A very pleasant way to spend the afternoon. We had beers, some crisps, and took in all of the fun decor. Lots of TVs to watch sports, and a good mix of friendly people.

O’Briens Pub at the Ferryman Hotel

This is a great pub and I live 5 minutes away so when I needed somewhere to stay while my flat was being serviced, I thought to give it a go - similar price to a hotel so I thought I'd support an independent place and would get the same level of accommodation - I didn't check the reviews here. HUGE mistake. The room was small but the bathroom was ridiculous - tiny, and the fixtures looked as if they'd been done in the 70s and not touched since. I was in room 8 and had the same issues as another reviewer with the noise from the plumbing: I was woken up constantly and it's impossible to get even close to a decent night's sleep. The rooms were serviced daily whether or not you want this. Unnecessary and not environmentally friendly: I don't need all towels replaced daily and there is no option to decline.
There is a TV but it's so high on the wall it's impossible to watch - pointless. 
Nowhere to put a medium sized suitcase and hardly any storage space. 
The first three days I was there, the entrance was propped open and the security door to the accommodation wasn't activated so anyone could have walked in. 
My security key was deactivated twice so i had to fight my way to the bar on a Friday night to get it reactivated. Not at all good when I had a virus and just wanted my room. 
 
I can't comment on the breakfast, I didn't have time to try it before work. 
I wanted to like here: it might be ok for one night if you've had an evening in the pub but for the same price (or less) you can get a really nice room in one of the hotels, like Wynns in Abbey Street which is gorgeous. 
I won't be staying again and I certainly won't recommend when friends visit.

Overpriced, noisy, cramped, tired, security risk

This hotel-cum-bed and breakfast situated right above the popular Irish Pub Ferryman in Dublin is a reasonably priced place to stay at for the solo teaveller. It is clean and adequate but the rooms are awfully cramped. The bar downstairs is a very popular authentic watering hole for young and the middle aged alike.

Quaintest little hotel in Dublin

We had just atrived in Dublin for the Rugby
Ireland v England ....a real battle of men.
And decided to go and get some Good wholesome Irish food Irish stew and steak & Guinness pie...just great a little over priced at 29 euros but very tasty...and the Guinness is guaranteed to be great being only a mile from the brewery....and good friendly souls inside....

Gpod stop off for food and a beer

This place has a really lovely pub, filled with locals and friendly bar staff, and pricing very good

It is a bit off the track if you are walking around, no parking and the 3 nights of parking cost me another 100 Euros.

The walk to the Temple bar area was like walking through a dump.

The attraction was the carvery, my daughter booked it as she knows we enjoy them. They are only at day time, when we were out.

Breakfast was OK, when we could find someone to make it, which in itself was not acceptable.

I cut myself and bled on the sheets on day one, sheets were never changed.

Room is tiny

Fantastic bar very friendly staff, very clean room, great Irish breakfast, near center, highly recommend base for exploring Dublin... would recommend booking a river view, near the revamped dock area with lots of restaurants and bars and cafees.
