This apartment is on a street of low-rent hostels and vacation rentals, right on the edge of the subsidized housing area.  Drunks and street people are abundant.  The apartment, however, is secure, behind three entry doors requiring keys, and the (first floor) windows are well above the street level.  The busline to and from the airport stops right outside the apartment, and the terminal is a quick walk.  It's a two-block walk to groceries, shopping and pubs.  As active seniors, we were able to walk anywhere to the Dublin sights.  The "positives" - television and wi-fi reception were good.  The kitchen was serviceable, and had a washing machine.  There was ample hot water, etc., once you figured out how to use it.  There were two potential "sleep sofas" in the living room, and linens were available.  The "negatives" - the apartment had an unpleasant odor all the time that we were there, somewhat lessened by opening the windows; there was no "American" (drip) coffee maker; just a French press; the furniture was old and stained; the ground floor apartment was very noisy at night, from the foot and road traffic outside.  If you closed the windows, the smell would come back.  My recommendation - if you're active and aren't frightened by "urban living" and you need a place to stay that's one level above a hiker's hostel, this is the place for you.

Central location, but be ready to lower the bar

Stay away from this place..it's a dirty and dangerous place.a lot of scumbags there.Not friendly staff,apartment is  very small and cold.Never again!:(Next time I would choose a hotel because apartments are not safe-you never know who is living next door..

The apartment was smaller than expected from the pictures but it was still very adequate. The location is great. Dublin isn't huge and this place is centrally located so we walked everywhere. 
There are plenty of shops close by (5 mins) with a Tesco round the corner.
We walked to the Guiness Storehouse which took us about half and hour from the apartment, Temple Bar is about 15 mins and the same for Trinity College. 

The downer was the TV didn't work which was a pain as with all the walking, we fancied chilling in front of a telly but the good thing was,we took cards so we spent a lot of time playing Uno.

The apartment could have done with a list of places to visit and a few helpful tips on getting around ie. where a supermarket is.

We took the Airbus from the airport for 10 euros for a family of 4 which lasts for a day. We did the same on our return to the airport and that was it.

Overall, we had a great time. Would have been better if the euro was at the old rate!
